having a blast now that i've actually gotten involved in C.O.P., instead of just diddling around here and there every other week

Some say it's a shadow bug, some say it's the faulty SSAO implanted into SoC. Try playing around with the settings to fix, I forgot how to do. Also 'r2_sun_near' can be a cheap way to fix if you are lazy
I have same shit in Clear Sky. Gonna try with disabled SSAO.

So yeah, I disabled the SSAO and these annoying lines disappeared. Also got performance boost and the graphics hasn't changed at all.

Could just make higher level artifacts spawn in the center of whirlgigs, furnaces and so forth and make low level artifacts sell for less and high level ones sell for more.

To be used with 1.0005 minimum, not sure how it will run on 1.0004 or 1.0006. And as it's been a long ass time since I even touched this since release. I've no idea what kind of complications may arise. Some experience some, others experience none. So...

I like all the items and scavenging mechanics that they've added to mutants. I don't like the combat, the unreasonable deadliness of anomalies and a wanna-be RPG system they put in place. It was an idea, but should've been open beta tested since it's a drastic change. If someone could mod Misery 2.0/2.1 so that it just adds all the items and the mechanics associated with them, I'd play that. Sorry, but after being on the verge of starting my path to Pripyat I've grown too tired of the gameplay.
