What mods would you guys recommend for CoP? Or is misery the current trend :v:
Redux if you want realism. MSO if you want better AI. SGM if you want (good) crazy.

Or is misery the current trend :v:
For near vanilla experiences: (includes graphical add-ons) Redux <= Highly recommend. Very stable. Also makes you feel bad about yourself. Absolute Textures packs Decent stuff: Doom'sModMerge Misery 1 Swartz FERR-UM Reloaded Atmosfear (weather, emissions, and stuff) <= Highly recommended. Quality stuff. Big ones: SGM <= Highly recommended. Alpha squads are going to wreck your butts. And mines. And giant bolts. Winter of Death Ultimatum If you're still not satisfied, Hammer7 and Pachira probably have a lot more of those Russians madness mods. Check this page out as well: http://www.moddb.com/members/davidme
So not only was I going to assault the Mercenary base in Yantar with no suit and a TOZ-34, there were zombie squads running all around the swamps and a fucking Hind patrolling the skies. Yantar in TFW has been nothing but trouble every time I've visited it. Alcohol made me sleepy, slightly aggressive, rambly and did i mention sleepy yeah i did I'm going to consider sleeping. Thanks anyone who watched. ES on jumalten juoma.
http://www.achtungfranz.com/thestalkerexperience.mp3 And yeah, SoC has an issue with sounds repeating. Sometimes in places like Dark Valley you can hear dialogue relating to scripted sequences that have played out earlier. And don't even get me started on the annoyance that comes along in Clear Sky after you help Duty take the Freedom base.
I wish I had good streaming software so I could stream and ramble in Latvian. :(
I wish Bandicam would work with STALKER so I could get some footage, it doesn't detect it so it just records incoming sound and a blank screen.

So is there is a way to reenable upgrades in CoP Redux?
Not recommended, since they'll fuck up the balance.
Is there anyone here who tried NEWSA Simbion? Talk about fucked up ... I reinstalled it a time ago and I just remembered. Once you spawn in the cordon with your shitty paper protection jacket and makarov, there's not only a BTR waiting to rape you but also 2 heli's and a shitload of military guys who're on the loose. I loved the mod lol. You got a FN2000 that shot rockets instead of GL's at 200m/s lol
Swartz mod Apparently Matvei had an entire gun factory hidden in his pants.

I wonder how that would look ingame, if the weapon models were projected on the backs of the NPC LOL
swartz yes/no misery feels too un-balanced as of now
So is there is a way to reenable upgrades in CoP Redux?
there's a user-made mod for it, i don't have the link though sorry!
swartz yes/no misery feels too un-balanced as of now
Swartz is good if you are mostly just looking for plenty of new weapons. It's got a different radiation system but that doesn't make too much of a difference. I enjoyed it quite a bit so yea i'd suggest it.
So is there is a way to reenable upgrades in CoP Redux?
Use this patch right here : http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?akghh72tc6kh57t [editline]herp[/editline] Note that in the patch suits all have 5 artifact slots by default so if you want to correct that you can check out the wiki and then go to outfit.ltx and correct the suits' ARTEFACT_COUNT values.
you say 'correct', but that was intentional :P
Yeah, I just meant that if the upgrades are enabled then the 5 artifact slots are kinda op. In regular redux the 5 artifact slots being open for all suits was more balanced because there were no upgrades.
you say 'correct', but that was intentional :P [editline]13th August 2013[/editline] a result of the lack of upgrades and my feeling that really, you can basically just stick artifacts in your pockets a lot of the time

tons of guests again, what is going on with this thread! [editline]13th August 2013[/editline] artifact activation is a totally non-canon made up thing - canonically artifacts display their effects at all times activation is still cool though
well you'd get really fucked up if the artifacts emitted effects in your backpack tho
well you'd get really fucked up if the artifacts emitted effects in your backpack tho
That is why they're put in metal safety boxes or what not, so they don't emit out of them, i'm not sure if this is cannon or not but I've seen a few mods do it.
well you'd get really fucked up if the artifacts emitted effects in your backpack tho
the idea is you put them in containers when you're not using them, but since that's not really properly implementable it's kinda skipped over
ABC had that if you 'equipped' artefacts and also created an anomaly of them (so in your hands) you'd get radiation damage. So in both cases you'd need to counter the radiation so you can't just pick up an artefact and activate it like in most artefact activation mods.
swartz yes/no misery feels too un-balanced as of now
Wait for new version, play some other mod meanwhile.

What if artifact containers have small holes or something that allowed the artifact clear contact with your skin, so it could give the beneficial effects?

Massive nostalgia, way back when I had a 6600gt and static lighting looked amazing. *tear* also one of those pseudo-dogs that spawns mimics of itself thought it'd be fun to rile up the train depot and crash my game.
