something tells me this mod that completely disables those little swaying tufts of grass is going to humorously improve performance.. [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] pretty much no entry lag and the amount of skipping and lagging have decreased a pretty noticeable amount. i had the grass slider all the way down too. this is sad. [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] also i've been playing redux for a while now... the last two plays including this one (currently in the first swamp part) there were like no NPC spawns for characters of opposing factions at all. the playthrough before this one i got to the second area and did a few missions and would constantly wander around and every stalker no matter what faction seems mild mannered except when it comes to mutants. there are no monolith or merc spawns and duty and freedom don't seem to feel like shooting each other.
The only thing that got me really bad in Ogsme was.. I Somehow had my binoculars stolen. Idk if itw as a Burer that took it or what, but it made things different.. The auto turrets sucked, but they were manageable. And those flies. I just always ran as fast as I could if I heard them.
So question about SGM and/or Atmosfear. I think I already posted that I crash due to memory when trying to go to the swamps, right? Would turning off some features until I'm actually in the swamps help? Like, does Atmosfear front load the memory cost to the loading screen?

Watching the Destination Truth episode where they visit the zone of exclusion always does it for me. It doesn't help they walk past that fucking ferris wheel in Pripyat.
Not playing Stalker for a long time is usually what does it for me.

I watched Diaries a few weeks ago and it got me back into the series. I suppose it was the idea of exploring Pripyat while avoiding mutants.

I was looking at ui_actor_hint_wnd.dds (vanilla) and their sizes were varied. Mostly exceed 30px. With redux, the icons (+glow), all don't exceed 27px. Just started playing with OGSE. I'm only still in Cordon in the beginning and I'm already falling in love with this mod. It feels so solid and nice.
Just beat SoC. Are the other games in the series this linear? At the end I enjoyed the ride but I didn't feel like I really explored that much.

If you're looking for a more non-linear experience, Call Of Pripyat is exactly what you want.
Clear Sky's later half is extremely linear as you must rush through the parts to reach the CNPP. The Swamp at the start is amazing though. Biggest map in the series, I think.
