Those fanatics do not stand a chance for Duty's organized and systematic warfare against all that oppose it. (I am surprised, though, that not every faction is represented in avatars here. We have Defiance, Duty and Freedom but no ecologists, mercenaries, bandits, that one dead scientist faction that lived at the swamps or some shit and Monolith, not that anyone misses those crazy people anyway. I'm mostly missing ecologists, those are good men of science.)

Hahaha I was escorting kruglov and the mercs were attacking from multiple sides so I took cover behind a metal container, a merc snuck up behind me and one of the mercs farther away shot at me and missed, and the shot ricochet off my cover into the guy's head. Still died but it was worth it.

In StalkerSoup how am I supposed to get through the Duty barrier in Garbage? I don't have any big tasks except for "Find out what happened to Ghost" and the usual "Kill Strelok".
Is there any way to get grass shadows back or would I have to reinstall and not get patches?

Have any of you guys seen the Stalker film? Is it worth seeing and is it anything like the game?

The game only drew some inspiration from it and people get bored because they think that there's going to be mutants and the like in it.

Is it worth seeing and is it anything like the game?[/QUOTE] first off noting: the games and film/novel are not alike apart from your basic few things, such as stalkers, anomalies, and the zone. the games draw from the novel, the film, and the film's novelization. oh, the novel is roadside picnic btw. i know there are other stalker novels out there but they all came much much later and are based off the games.
Ok never mind I melee'd sidorvitch's door open and he gave me the nimble mission and now everybody in the rookie village is normal for now.

It's funny how when I first played SoC I thought the textures looked bad and the animations were shit so I immediately went for texture packs, and now I think the default textures and the old animations look cool :/ Those lost alpha trailers probably had a hand in that though.

Do Meltac's shaders affect the colours at all when everything is disabled? Also is the performance good on them? If all is well, my shaders have gone obsolete.

It does look like it takes quite a chunk out of your performance. But it indeed is true, my shaders have also been improved upon by meltac so we are kinda obsolete, altho mine are fine-tuned (weeks of testing etc.) nothing new, but more like making the game perfect :v:
Alright, so I decided to order a better sniper from nimble, since I had 90k to spend. I got what I wanted (lynx), sold my old sniper, and bought a sunrise suit, and got the 6x scope for the sniper. Its really fun when you can one-shot pretty much everyone with an upper body shot. So I bought 30 rounds of ammo with what money I had left, and went over and killed all of the mercs at the workshop, since all mercs are now hostile to me from my past endeavors. Thing is, where are the goddamn tools? I know that in vanilla CoP they are there in one of the buildings, but I cant find them anywhere. I found two stashes while I was looking though.
