what is this cheeki breeki thing i keep seeing
You'll know the true power, the true horror soon enough... But seriously, it's a Russian saying. It's from checkers; "Chiki briki iv damke" or something similar, I butchered the fuck out of it. It means "One, two, and I'm on top!", which basically is a mixture of a gloat and a declaration of 'king me.'
what is this cheeki breeki thing i keep seeing
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jAZ08.jpg[/t] It's a battle cry often shouted by the bandits in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. I don't exactly know what prompted it to attain such a memetic status within the community but I think it's got to do with the fact that the bandits' voiceovers sound kinda goofy and the chiki briki shit is one of the lines that's unique to the bandit faction.

(this happens when you apply lurk shaders to the vanilla game, because of the way tonemapping is used)
THIS is Xray Extensions. Its a big project, and it has lots of engine tweaks and fixes. Also, LURK's shaders simply desaturate sunlight colour in the combine_1 pass. Its not tonemapping. Oh, and, Meltac has had a history of faking a few screenshots in the past, and honestly nearly anything he's done has been surpassed by the OGSE team anyway, who've already released working sunshafts, soft particles, and soft water implementations. They also have heat vision, bokeh DoF, SMAA/FXAA, and a few other goodies in the works which I'm sure we'll all get our grubby hands on whenever the next version of OGSE is released - engine level support for most of these features is already included in Xray Extensions, though we don't have shaders.

Although I'm very surprised I didn't completely butcher it.
;41919923']I haven't even gone through conscription yet and I handled an RK-76 easily. The kick was nothing, really. I admit it was semiautomatic because Finnish gun laws but still, it's very similar to RK-95 and it was an easily mitigated reaction. Tho Panzer already explained why the recoil was derpy so :v: kinda moot to contribute to this discussion anymore, oh well. What was the bug, anyway?
No idea, I just remember reading one of the LURK devs saying the recoil is due to a bug :v:

I'm having an issue with the TRG-22 in Clear Sky. It has a super sensitive turning speed with the mouse for some reason. Like any other gun or no gun my mouse control is fine but when unholstering the TRG it's super sensitive. Any idea what to do with the configs to fix it?

If so, you'll want to edit it's upgrade file, look for any instance of "control_inertion_factor" and set it to 0 (or simply don't get any handling upgrades). For the actual gun itself, unupgraded, go to the relevant gun file and look for "control_inertion_factor" again. There's, to the best of my recollection, 2 instances of that line; you want the first one, not the one that has a letter in it's value.

Cordon is now completely under Duty control...save for the military outpost. We came to a quick agreement and promised to live and let live. We'll be coming to Red Forest next, so I hope I'll be there to say hi! [sp]When I say hi I mean a 7.62x51 FMJ right between your eyes.[/sp]

So I was thinking...if the zone actually did exist, I feel like it wouldn't be just a bunch of small factions fighting each other w/ loners and such in between. I have a feeling it would be absolutely flooded with large governments like the US(with NATO support) China, and Russia putting thousands of troops in the zone in order to snatch as many artifacts as possible
If the Zone would be anything like the film "stalker" or the games I don't think that would go very well. Ukraine's government tried large-scale military operations but the Zone effectively repelled them completely. Machines and tanks stopped dead in their tracks, helicopters fell from the sky and the Zone released deadly emissions that killed and zombified military personnel. In Stalker the film there are some derelict tanks and military vehicles in the Zone and the characters say that you can't bring weapons in there because the Zone doesn't take kindly to them or something so it's hinted to be similar in the movie as well. I do agree however, that other nations would like to have a piece of the pie from Zone's profits as well. That's already documented in the games (at least the cut content) to a certain extent like in the form of International Science Group that was basically western special forces masquarading as scientists. Also the mercenary faction that is in the games was originally supposed to be straight up the U.S Army. We have the Ecologists serving Ukraine and/or possibly Russia. Freedom gets NATO support and of course the Mercenaries are serving whoever. I also like to think that there are even undercover loners sent in to do jobs for certain groups as well. Because of the amount of disasters when the military moves into the Zone, I'm sure everybody else has learned from those mistakes and want fewer, more experienced people to go in.

So, as usual, I decided to play Stalker while high. This time I decided to augment my playing experience by going full stalker (no drinking) - I wrapped myself in a blanket, put in my earphones and started the game up. I found myself in two interesting situations - the large ship where Spartacus holds out and the Waste plant, where the mercs are holed up. So - here's the first one. After receiving worrying information on an ambush by a gang of thugs on a neutral stalker squad holed up in a forward position in a large ship called Savchenko and forwarding this information to Beard, he mentioned that I should go along with the bandits and help out in the ambush that the Stalkers will be organizing for them. I was assured that I would not be hurt in the crossfire, as long as I kept myself safe and secure, but Beard still could not guarantee my safety. A shame, but I was promised a fair amount of loot for taking a part in this operation. I had just arrived in the area through the western pass and I was dying for some extra magazines for my AK. Plus some food would have been lovely. The operation would be, obviously, taking part in the middle of the night in pitch darkness, since the bandits wanted to go in there cleanly and mercilessly murder the stalkers. In case of an open firefight they, as expected, would probably turn on their flashlights for visibility. Scraping up all the money I had, I bought a pair of cheap night vision goggles imported from Bolivia, the door hit me on the way out as I understood how badly I was ripped off, since the goggles barely worked. However I would have to make do with what I had - even a half-blind shooter was better than one with no sight. The clock struck twelve, as I met up with the rest of the bandit squad and made our way slowly towards the entrance to the ship. Sweat started to slowly form on my forehead, I counted 5 bandits armed with AK's, sub-machine guns and a variety of shotguns, loaded with buckshot, which was sure to kill off anything at close range with no mercy. I could only worry what would happen if I started shooting too fast, or, actually, too slow, as the Stalkers would probably take me for being one of the bandits. So much could go wrong, and all these scenarios appeared in my mind, as I crept closer to the hull behind the wide back of a stalker named Ilyusha Hawk. The group had decided to leave their flashlights on, as no sentry was spotted in a recon run 30 minutes ago. As soon as Knuckles, the leader of this prestigious group of assassins, reached the belly of the beast, a loud shout emitted from the bushes around the hull, and hot lead soon started raining on the men in front of me. As struck by lightning I was shell shocked for a moment, before Ilyusha pulled me into cover. He started shooting back, and now I had to make a choice - with whom would I stand with? Would I betray Beard or risk retribution from the crime lord Sultan? The man beside me started shouting at me and jammed his sidearm into my right hand. As soon as he turned around and once more started providing covering fire for his mates who were receiving heavy fire from all flanks, I raised the pistol and blew out his brains. Taking the moment of confusion into effect I stood up and blasted away Knuckles and another one of his lackeys - the rest were already dead on the ground. I expected some kind of a response from the team of stalkers, yet Spartacus only sent me a brief message to meet me inside the bridge. Going up the stairs I noticed that there was no one really guarding the ship anymore. The veteran only approved my suspicions - the rest of his crew had been gunned down in the fight. Nevertheless, he thanked me for saving his life and for the invaluable help, and opened a bottle of vodka for us to enjoy and spend the night. Spartacus offered me to take up guard first, so I headed up to the roof of the bridge, turned on my flashlight, and looked into the void. The night was quiet, only occasionally pierced with the loud woof of a pseudo-dog family hunting a few hundred meters south-west of the ship, I mentally noted their location but ignored them. Live and let live. As soon as the sky was pierced by a bright light, I understood that a blowout had begun. It could have not been more than four or five, but it suddenly was as bright as midday, as a loud siren suddenly finished off the calm silence of the night. Blowouts were nothing new to me now, so after lighting a cigarette I headed off inside the ship and sat down with Spartacus, drinking another bottle and looking out of the nearby window as the world burned and cried outside. As soon as the emission ended, I heard loud growling. However it did not come from outside - the pseudodogs had ran inside! Immediately I drew my gun, but as soon as I noticed 8 pairs of white eyes staring at me from darkness, my fight instinct quickly turned into flight. This did not affect Spartacus, who stood his ground and started shooting at the wild beasts, who mercilessly started to attack him. I had no choice - I jumped out of the nearest window, hitting the ground and losing my balance, smashing my head into the wet mud below. With the world spinning I stood up and started limping to the direction of the Skadovsk, my backpack full of weaponry, making every step harder and harder, as my hunters started pursuing me. Shotguns had lost their psychological effect on the animals a long time ago, and I did not know what I expected when the warning shot went into the air. The dogs continued charging, and so I aimed and fired at the first one leaping at me - the biggest and blackest of the pack. The buckshot tore through him like butter, and he flied right past me, landing in the thick reeds behind me. This must have done something, as the rest soon fled. I was safe and slowly made my way back to home, to Skadovsk. Rest in peace, Spartacus, but I deserved some coffee and a bit of shut-eye. [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline] don't do drugs, kids
a true wizard
How did you make it so terrible looking? Because I need whatever the fuck you used.
Mann I used to play like that with my old 6600gt and single core Pentium 4 Those good old times. I say single core Pentium 4 because it was hyper-threaded, which did something I'm not sure what.

So I'm in the underground in Redux, and the game always crashes at this one point when i open a door. It is fine for a few seconds and then something triggers it to crash. I don't get a bug report or anything it just goes... dead.
Who has a mirror for the mod called:"Suits do make the man mod"? It's a mod for SHoC that makes you look like a friendly of a faction, based on the suit you're wearing. It was a topic on here some time ago, IIRC it'll be in Redux 2?
