What settings are you running it on?
Full Dynamic Lighting since I don't have DX10 and the Optimized version.
;41944455']How does your LURK look so great? It's got like motion blur, great flashlights and everything :c
Mine looks like poop.
I added Shaders MAX.
Unfortunately I enabled sunshafts but they only seem to appear when I am looking towards the lower half of the screen, they disappear if I look directly at the light that casts it :(

These sunshafts are different compared to the conventional ones done in most modern games. These ones are more visible from different angles, and not straight on. At least, the CoP ones are.
Well I know how STALKER sunshafts work, but I mean these literally don't show up unless I'm looking a little downward, unlike CS and CoP sunshafts which are visible from many different angles.
Speaking of which I fucking love CS and CoP sunshafts. Such a small addition yet it makes the game look so fantastic.
I hate how most games use sunshafts done in screen-space now, they just look so bad compared to STALKER's where they shine through windows and trees and such from tons of angles.
So I haven't beaten CoP yet, but I've played it quite a fair bit and will be playing it again, should I try a mod or should I finish it completely in vanilla first?
Also how is misery with the patch? And does 2.0 have a working stealth system like LURK does in SoC?
That's not a sunshaft effect iirc, Kingo should explain this but these are just light beams coming from the ground, not the sun, aka faking the effect
Ah, so is there any real sunshaft shader effect available that works like CS/CoP?
I tried Dynamic Shaders but with LURK they just made everything black.

OGSE, but it's 10006 ONLY and the current LURK is not 06 iirc.
I thought the 1.0006 patch was fucked and isn't used?
Does it do something special is that why OGSE is using it?

Fucked? It's the BEST patch out there, unlocking the entire engine and dll's and fixing many, many issues (including widescreen support). Patch 1.0007 is presumably even better, adding in fixed and better graphical render algorithms and shaders (auto-soft water, accurate bump maps and detail bump maps etc.) but, there's no English translation as of yet. (Rumour goes Dez used this patch as base for LA itself)
I've got both 06 as 07, never tried them yet though. It's hard saying goodbye to almost ALL mods that either support 04 or 05. 06 also adds in a lot of old engine and game features that where left out, like the 'fixed grass shadows' they cut in the 10001 patch iirc due to 'performance issues'
What's the best FOV for 1280 x 1024? I actually want to up the FOV to see my hands more, too... But i don't know wich is best
Thanks for clearing that up
and I never even heard of 1.0007 until you mentioned it
;_; I feel so dirty not knowing.

many issues? im just wondering if this will help my friend who's game keeps crashing. i've always had mine at 04.

edited cause text didn't show up for me.
many issues? do you think it'll fix mt friend's problem with crashing. (doesn't produce a crashlog or anything in the clip board according to him)
So in Misery, where are the tools in zaton?
So in Misery, where are the tools in zaton?
I would like to know this too, best bet is probably googling it.
Ranger Station - Basic Tools (up the ladder)
Iron Forest - Fine Tools (under stairs)
Waste Processing Station - Calibration Tools (backpack)
A little advice - aim for the head.
I do and when it hits they usually feign and continue to take more rounds.
I'm just gonna keep playing and hope it gets less shitty because so far this is the worst STALKER game out of all the them.
How did you guys play through Clear Sky?
Even on Master every fucking enemy can take whole magazines, pure round sponges.
Anyone have a mod that just alters the damage values so I can actually enjoy my play through of it?
Clear Sky Enhanced is a neat mod that adds cool stuff and rebalanced the game, some weapons have improved gunplay but not everything. I liked that mod a lot, Clear Skies is also a nice mod.
I always played with Enhanced though, loved the stuff that they added.

1.0006 was just a MP patch for RU version. Never heard of 1.0007.

Really? My install seems to think otherwise
[t]http://i4.minus.com/icHQAryekMNpf.jpg[/t]
I remember way back when I installed SoC people told me not to install 1.0006 but I had already done it, but the patch seemed fine when I used it.

In Clear Sky the difficulty level only affects enemies' accuracy. AP ammo is the only way to go about vanilla CS. It'll change 25-30 rounds into an Exo with a fully upgrade G3 to 5-6 or roughly 2 to the head.
Wait, didn't difficulty in STALKER games change the damage? It does in Clear Sky, I'm sure of it.
;41946211']Wait, didn't difficulty in STALKER games change the damage? It does in Clear Sky, I'm sure of it.
It doesn't in Clear Sky. In Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat it changes damage levels across the board - everyone is on equal footing, damage wise. In Clear Sky it only affects enemy units' accuracy, up to 35% at Master. Couple that with bullet sponge for normal rounds and the invulnerable animations, CS has some awful gunplay. AP rounds fix a good chunk of it, though.

Actually, 06 didn't re-add grass shadows or anything. The only reason 06 is used as the base for most russian patch projects is becuase a Russian release of the patch had a full debug set included with it, which allowed people to dig in and figure out what functions do what

what's the best CS mod to correct those problems? or in general
[editline]23rd August 2013[/editline]
also, I seem to be having a huge problem with SoC LURK right now. I ran into a controller?(the guy with the weird shaped head and no shirt that does the psychic attack?) and I just ran past him because usually those guys hurt like fuck and I can't kill them on master so I just exited through the ladder. But now I have the wobbly vision crap and I keep seeing doubles of things. It's been like 10 minutes now. I'm hiding out in the military base killing who I can but I'm not going to be able to leave easily.
Best bet for controllers is to just run up to them and knife them to death. Unless you're in CoP or a mod that gives them a psy-field, their only defense is a weak slap that you can back away from anyway.
The invulnerable animations and the unit accuracy change for difficulty are hard coded, as far as I know. As for increasing damage values and making normal rounds not worthless, I actually don't know. I played full vanilla and then TFW, and that was it. ZRP would be your best bet, I think. Setting immunities to not ridiculous amounts in the actor.ltx (I think, someone with modding knowledge correct me here) file yourself may be the most direct method.
You can change the AI's accuracy in CS through actor.ltx, increase weapon's damage/accuracy/how far the bullets go through their respective files, increase the amount of damage stalkers take in m_stalker.ltx... I'm sure there's a mod for CS that just does that.
What do you do in LURK to fix the blue bar next to your health when it's low? I'm pretty sure that's why I have a weird double vision effect going on. I killed the controller, it's still going on. I'm not even in the same area.
Fairly certain the blue bar is your armor condition.
The controller effect never going away is a bug LURK has and it has a fix... somewhere.
Damnit. it's literally getting nauseating.
fixed it now thanks
Am I the only guy who isn't bothered at all by the ballistics and gunplay of CS? I honestly found it really fun and amusing to play because of it.
Helped my ability to score headshots accurately pretty damn well, and I tend to keep firing a few rounds into them even if they get staggered.
