In misery the armor, helmets and weapons degrade too quickly for me, and "maintaining condition" for them is just tedious. I like to go and just repair them ast cardan's or Nitro's, but fucking shit is it unrealisticly expensive [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] I mean come on, repairing a 70% armor is almost as expensive as buying a new one.
It's generally cheaper to fix them up yourself, and only use Cardan to top it off, but the main issue with that is that you need the traders to have a correct weapon/armour repair/maintenance kit available for you to buy, in addition to a good quality repair item.
My CoP crashes since I changed some of the graphic options, I can't run the game anymore. Right after the splash screen there is an error and it simply crashes. Is there a way to change the graphic options outside of the game?
Shared documents / stalker cop / user.ltx Either delete it (reset everything from the options) or change "renderer" to something like "r1" "r2" "r3"

Is Misery worth it? It kind of just seems to make the game a serious pain in the ass. I enjoy a challenge but that seems like a little less than fun.

Get the latest patch version (2.0.2) and you will surely enjoy it once you got the hang of the somewhat steep learning curve
And be careful, the bandits on Misery don't rain down grenades like in Clear Sky, but they are goddamn accurate with them when they do use them!
I've almost finished SHoC with some sort of unofficial patch added to it, and I'm planning on starting Clear Sky again, but I remember how annoying the bandits were (as if they were exo-wearing special force snipers or something), any mods you can recommend to balance things out more?

Just remember that in Clear Sky pistol caliber and buckshot weapons (with the exception of TOZ-34) are inherently near-worthless because of the prevalence of armored enemies. In SRP, 6-8 torso shots with a Makarov are enough to kill a Renegade in the swamps and once you get out of the Swamps you're able to reliably procure assault rifle caliber ammunition and if you make good use of AP ammo (much, [I]much[/I] more important and available than in SoC) the enemies won't feel bulletspongy at all with the exception of the special animations during which they're invulnerable (such as vaulting over objects etc.).

I dislike those because some of the time there's shafts while there's clear skies and that's unrealistic without 'some' fog in the levels. And white sunrays also look off. I take it the 'wow' was positive? :)[/QUOTE] Well, I'm always one for new graphics improvements in STALKER but I can't use Enhanced Dynamic Lighting in CS/COP because of my terrible graphics card. OGSE worked great with one test option disabled even with all sorts of graphics maxed out. It was so well optimized and all.
I have a 7970 so it should've been more than enough, but clear sky + absolute nature, absolute structures and atmosfear is running at a really bad framerate (I'd say around 20). Any ideas why?

Also that's really odd, I am doing this with CoP @DX10 with AN3.01, PPx3 and AF3 (these 3 combined eat beast pc's for breakfast) at a steady 60FPS or sometimes even higher. Might be because of your drivers?
Weird dream I had. It was a meeting of Fp'ers (At least, I assumed it was) and a bunch of people were telling me to play the Misery Mod. Still waiting for Redux 2.0 though.

Also I figured "high-res" textures won't affect my framerate since I have enough (V)RAM to load all of them. On a side note: I cbf to finish SHoC, I'll just watch the ending on youtube. IMO it's a bit too old, ugly and clunky but hey that's just me.
