Can anyone recommend me a good SHoC mod? Played L.U.R.K, Complete and Lost Alpha so looking for something new.
Wait, am I missing something?
Do'h! Oblivion Lost, sorry.
Oh. You got me all excited then. :v:
Lost Alpha.
For fuck sake. >:( :p
There are some good modders in this thread, right?
Have any of you ever thought about helping the LA guys with their stuff?

AMK,OGSE, try ZoA but it was buggy for me
SoC crashes now after loading any save.
I have Stalker Complete 2009 and I run Patch 1.05 and it worked fine yesterday.
Help.

I believe that dez0wave has been a very closed group for a long time already and them accepting people into the mix at this stage would be inherently dangerous for them, especially since they've already dealt with problems arising from internal arguments and they've (rightfully) afraid of people coming into their mod team just to get a sneak peek of their mod and possibly leaking content if they leave etc.

You could try R.M.A. (old storyline restoration mod).

uninstall complete
What about Beacon?
Or is he buse?
Does anyone have that Lost Alpha video with those wierd rock thingies talking about some dude?
Buse?
I would probably help out the LA guys if they asked me, but they've not. I also don't have much experience with SoC modding though I imagine a lot of my knowledge would transfer pretty easily.
Also, I don't really want to spoil my enjoyment of the mod by seeing its insides. Once you do, the magic is gone :P

Should use ZRP instead, since Complete runs on an outdated version of ZRP anyway

This makes me sad, Grigorovich was a fucking dick.
The first was Cossacks, a set of real-time strategy games known best for its scale, pitting upwards of 60,000 units against each other at one time. Popular throughout Eastern Europe, the series made Grigorovich a millionaire before he was 25 years old.

"[Grigorovich] just gathered us all up in the presentation hall," Yavorsky remembers. "He said, 'I have decided to stop Stalker 2 development. Goodbye.' ... It was a very short speech."
The staff of GSC was in total shock. People went back to their desks and stared dumbly at their monitors. There was silence for almost two hours.
The cruel irony is that the team had been looking forward to that Friday for weeks. It was supposed to be the first chance for the entire staff to learn about the Stalker 2 storyline. Yavorsky had even helped plan a small party, with pizza and drinks, intended to boost morale. The game had been in development for two years by that time, and layoffs and attrition had shrunk the staff from a high of nearly 200 to a core group of less than 50.

"We went to local investors," Yavorsky says. "We went to Moscow to talk to people in Russia about potential funding, but ultimately we found problems because [Grigorovich] ... seemed to want to continue with the [Stalker] license [on his own].

Throughout the early 2000s, as GSC grew larger on the sales of Cossacks games, Prokhorov and others began to resent how the company's earnings all seemed to go to Grigorovich. Their CEO had stated many times that Cossacks earned the company more than $100 million, but Prokhorov says the wages of average employees remained comically low.

Eventually, after a falling out with Grigorovich over wages in 2006, Prokhorov and two lead programmers left the company to found 4A. After the first Stalker was published in 2007, Prokhorov says that Grigorovich fired the entire art department at GSC. Nearly all of them came to work for 4A.

Yatsuk never made more than $900 a month working at GSC.
And one thing that I noticed that was said by an ex-employee about STALKER 2.
He says the reason he left GSC was because its next game would deviate too far from what made the Stalker series so immersive.
"It was more like a war, less like an exploration game," Tolmachev says. "For me, this moment was the death of the Stalker series."
Atleast we/they have Lost Alpha.
Fuck you Grigorovich, I hope you fall into a whirlygig.
Grigorovich.
Son of a bitch.
Well, you have to thank him for one thing,
Those guys who left over the wages fallout created 4A which made the Metro game series, some of the best games I have ever played in terms of atmosphere and graphical quality.
A year old video but I feel that it is fitting at this current moment

Thanks. Out of AMK and OGSE, which one would you recommend?

Which link do I click to download? The formatting seems really fucked up on that site. :/

[sp]Sorry, but I can't resist.[/sp]
Kind of off-topic, but is Metro 2033 a hell of a lot easier than S.T.A.L.K.E.R or is it just me? I wish some of the more interactive elements where taken from it though. (Gas Masks, Lighter, Journal/Compass)
In fact I wish there was almost no UI except the pause menu. Anyone recommend a mod that could provide some more hardcore elements?
LURK for SoC
Misery and Redux for CoP

I don't feel like uninstalling absolutely everything.
And my saves probably won't work then if I uninstall everything plus Complete?

I suggest you to read the OP. There are a lot of nice things in it.

Thank you.
There is a plethora of different modifications for all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, some are just minor tweaks but others provide a vastly different experience. You can go on and find one that interests you or just ask in the thread! Beware of mods like Complete that advertise to only "enhance" the vanilla experience, this is not true. The mods change certain aspects of the game that would otherwise not be in the vanilla version of the games, so please play vanilla first and THEN enjoy those mods.
Okay I will do that
ftfy
Neither of those are really what he's looking for. Metro 2033 doesn't contain 1001 poorly implemented weapon variants, Hello Kitty AKs, Middle Finger weapons or mutant models stolen from other games.

Am I missing something, or did the LA team just repost two articles from a while back?
Hello there
I'm a regular just a regular Stalker fan, just as you. I wanted to invite you to join the project which will be explained in this message.
-The Persistent Zone
is a fan project that brings huge online community to already famous Stalker series. The mod itself is basically turning Stalker from a single player game, to an online one.
Here are some features which may be created with your help:
-Massive online world with huge community.
-Remaking of all old models from Stalker game, you can count on me with this too
-Evolving the Xray engine to be much more optimized and impressive
-Recreating whole zone from scratch, adding tons of new details and with brand new textures
-Clan wars, each player starts as a lone wolf but as he evolves, he may join any faction
-Brand new HD interface which will use post apocalyptic theme but much better looking
-Huge battles between players or enemies
-Improved A-life
-Survival
-Scavenging
-Brand new shooting mechanics
-Skill tree
-And much much more...
I guess this sounds pretty good doesn't it? Well if you can join me, We can make this, I can offer a budget of 1000$ for this project as well as a professional modeler, artist and composer, contact me via steam or email if you are interested. Have a nice day!
