Promising, to say the least.
I haven't played SoC in nearly two years after I beat it with the Complete mod. This gives me a very good excuse to reinstall it and hop back in.
Honestly, I played all three games for over 20 hours each, and I can easily say I enjoyed SoC most of all.
20 ... hours ... ?
Oo
I don't know but I'm around 7k for all 3 combined ... Dayum. I really do love the series so yeah, I'll prolly add another 3 to 4 k hours to that :)
edit
Like Lijitsu said, I don't just PLAY the game. I count my modding hours as playing. if I'd be playing only, I'd hand around 2k for shoc, almost 2k for CoP and 500 hours or so for CS (I got 'quickly') bored of it even though I was creating my own mod for it, which I decided not to release. (lack of motivation really)
How in the fuck can you play a game like STALKER for 2,000+ hours? It's like a few people I've seen on Steam who've played The Walking Dead for 800-1,000 hours. It's a good game, yeah, but holy shit.

Play it every day :v: Since launch? So yeah
Why are people amazed at how much I play a game? I have 1,9k in BF3 as well. Some people had over 4k after the first 9 months :P
Freeplay and dubious mods like the Soup can eat a lot of your time.
I know I spent over 200 hours over the span of two weeks just going around with my Sako RK-95 TP in Freelurk.

The thing is, I play everything. Every mod and why? Because I 1; find inspiration in other people's work (example particle paradise, it's because of eggchen and particle enhancement i got into particles) and 2; I really never do get bored with stalker. I don't know why. I did have a small period of not playing it as extensively as I was doing before, but I am ALWAYS modding it. Always trying out stuff, doing stuff in the level editor, particles, scripts. The sheer amount of compilations and test gamedata's i've created in the past 5 years are around 100 already, if not more :v: plus a HDD with almost all mods (both big and small) i've gathered through the year, a ... repository, i guess.
So yeah, rate my dumb late or think I'm no living 1 game, but do know my school results are top notch, I have a girlfriend and stalker is not my only game :3
Some people need a more positive look at things! :D
I've put 1k+ hours into a few games, but very very few make it that far. Halo for the PC, Team Fortress 2, Starcraft, Warcraft III, Diablo 2, and World of Warcraft. All of those are mostly online games, - or only online in the case of World of Warcraft - and while I enjoy the hell out of the STALKER games, putting 10k hours into it sounds crazy to me. Then again, you're also a major mod dev. Aside from actual playing, you're also doing modding work.

Indeed, I've since I started modding stalker never quit doing so. Trust me, I've spend around 2 full vacations modding stalker alone, 10 to 14 hours a day. You'll quickly get to 1k with that within just 1 vacation (58 days)
But hey, it's my rightful decision to do so, and I think a lot of people are benefiting from this choice. I myself am as well, I would've never learned so awfully much about modding in general if it wasn't for STALKER :)
edit
I mean, when L.A. comes out, how much time will you put into that? 10, 20, 50, 100? I think I'll relive the whole STALKER vibe again and spend even more time in all that glorious newness

Always found it funny how the ecologists use mercs for guards, when they used to use the military. After all, they're sponsored by the Ukrainian government, so you'd think they'd have been able to keep the troops. Especially considering they are researching the fuck out of the zone.

All the military troops are shit, they get slaughtered by the dozens by a fucking stray flesh.
The experienced military stalkers are too valuable to use on guard duty.
Ukraine learned to privatize.
Encountering Mercs in STALKER is like the neutral people in Futurama. No strong feelings towards you one way or the other.
I need to stop playing dooms mod. I seem to lose far too many hours to it. Not that it's a bad thing. I just seem to forget about everything else in the world when I play.

I should really get around to finishing the Weapon Ejection mod I was making...

You actually should yeah, because it does sound very awesome.

Will you be able to bind particles to the shells?

Will you be able to bind particles to the shells?
In theory yes. As they are entirely separate and new mesh's with their own configs, although I see no reason to add particles to empty round casings as of now. And I'm still trying to iron out the coding side of things to allow what I need, which is where I'm coming up short and losing motivation.
Considering how I'm planning on making a life in the army, Duty seems like an obvious choice for me.
Ukrainian military is corrupt as shit in comparison to Duty so that's why I'm not leaning for them.
Besides, I like how Duty bans all use of alcohol, smokes and other intoxicating things.
So I tried boredgunner's modpack and I have to admit, it's pretty great.
Ecologists have it down, hire people to do the dirty work / protect them on the rare event that they need to go out themselves, and work in a secure bunker doing science. Most factions get along chill with them, as they are involved in the production of the cool detectors and suits.
All about the science.
It's been long since Millenia posted in here. Any other news about Lurk?
And that is why Duty are their best buddies.
So I'm trying to play through Misery and it's consistently kicking me in the balls no matter how I approach most situations...
Any tips on acquiring precious rubles? Slogging around barely generates a net profit and it seems impossible to escape the swamp without Psy/Elemental gear.. Not to mention that you can't get any artifacts without flatout dying from radiation, etc.
My current savegame may be doomed on account of a pack of wild dogs that JUST HAPPENED to be in the vicinity when I was in a shootout with the workshop mercs..
