I'm probably REALLY late but my HDD recently crashed and I was wondering if someone could set me up with some recommended mods for Call of Pripyat? Nothing majorly game changing, but rather just brings the game up to it's fullest potential. Preferably nothing too hardcore (cuz im bad)

If not, Redux. [sp]Which may or may not meet the last criteria.[/sp]
I'm looking to get into this series, which game should I get first?
I'm looking to get into this series, which game should I get first?
Shadow of Chernobyl, then Clear Sky (if you REALLY want to), then Call of Pripyat was how I played it.

Willys L134, 2,199.5 cc and 60 hp. Calling it.
Lets play guess the engine!
Come on now, the gloss on the plastic bits on the guy in the third one are so X-Ray.
Looks like Frostbite, since it reminds me a lot of Bad Company 1&2 [editline]11th October 2013[/editline] But yeah, frostbite is dice only, they wont license it unless EA gives it a say so.
Shadow of Chernobyl, then Clear Sky (if you REALLY want to), then Call of Pripyat was how I played it.
Everyone should play Clear Sky at least once. It really is a balling ass game. [editline]11th October 2013[/editline] Also, are this the kidlings and Diaper-Controller I see?
do retail and steam versions of shadow of chernobyl have different registry entries or are they the same one? How does that work with determining the version of the game and all of that?
They are the same. Don't know how it works.
I'd like Redux better if it didn't just remove upgrades for no reason at all. Is there a reason for removing weapon / suit upgrades? It's not like it was unbalanced or OP or anything.
Can you tell us the sources of those pictures? Are there more?
Phantom Zone page on Moddb
They are the same. Don't know how it works.
Really weird. I changed the retail version to 1.0005 while hte steam version is still 1.0006. Thanks for the response.

okay guys, I've searched all over the internet but I've found nothing even really relating to this glitch. so I installed call of pripyat and start a new game and all that jazz. and I get in and I notice "oh, dynamic lighting isn't enabled, I'll go enable that and restart etc etc." but when I restart after changing that, I can still get into the game menu and such, but as soon as I start a new game it locks up. every different lighting setting does this, or it doesn't let me launch the game at all. what do I do? I'm really stuck here and I don't want to play this game on static lighting ;-;
3 new screenshots of Frozen Zone. It just adds a lot to that Russian/Ukranian feel, and a snowy wooded forest or buildings feels perfect for that lonely, desolate atmosphere that goes hand in hand with STALKER. It's a shame nobody's really gone all out on it with snow storms, etc, along with actual snow instead of just white textures everywhere.
Can you tell us the sources of those pictures?
Nothing majorly game changing, but rather just brings the game up to it's fullest potential. Preferably nothing too hardcore (cuz im bad)
If you're already played through the game I'd really recommend M.S.O+AtmosFear 3. MSO is short for Massive Simulation Overhaul and it makes the A-Life much more interesting but doesn't do any major content changes or balance overhauls but IIRC it tweaks the economy a bit so it isn't totally overkill or anything. You'll see a lot of mods for CoP incorporate M.S.O but in my opinion the mods that do incorporate it free it up too much because regular MSO has a 'gated' spawning so for example elimination of certain camps will cause new spawns to appear but in the MSO present in many other mods it doesn't respect the spawn gating of the original game but starts to put Pseudogiants at Zaton from day zero. Some prefer this to be so but in my opinion it's better when the spawns start to rack up gradually. [editline]herp[/editline] If you do end up picking up MSO(or MSO+AtmosFear) I would have to warn you that there's a bunch of typos in the character_descr_general that the modder failed to fix so it means that when you encounter NPCs with a certain model it will crash because the visual model path refers to a non-existent model. The visual in question should be stalker_neutral_nauchniy but it's often spelt stalker_nutral_nauchniy or stalker_neutral_nauchnyi so you can fix it relatively easily prior to starting the game. After starting the game though, you're not able to fix mistakes in the character_descr_general without starting a new game or rather the changes don't carry over until you do but what you can do is look up the folder for the models, copy "stalker_neutral_0"(or something) over a bunch of times and then rename the copies according to whatever model the crash log claims is missing and that should take effect immediately upon doing so.
Something about those frozen zone screenshots is giving me huge cryengine 2/3 vibes but at the same time it's clearly not. Also, those water shaders are pretty goddamn gorgeous, stalker's lack of decent reflectivity in it's water has always annoyed me. All they need is to look less 'dirty mirror'-like.
okay guys, I've searched all over the internet but I've found nothing even really relating to this glitch. so I installed call of pripyat and start a new game and all that jazz. and I get in and I notice "oh, dynamic lighting isn't enabled, I'll go enable that and restart etc etc." but when I restart after changing that, I can still get into the game menu and such, but as soon as I start a new game it locks up. every different lighting setting does this, or it doesn't let me launch the game at all. what do I do?
Also, those water shaders are pretty goddamn gorgeous, stalker's lack of decent reflectivity in it's water has always annoyed me. All they need is to look less 'dirty mirror'-like.
It needs a dark-gradient applied to it, like how it's done in CRYENGINE (newest sdk name, not Ce3 anymore). This makes the water near you (like OGSE did it) less reflective than the water far away. This makes it looks much more real. Also, the water needs to be darker because it indeed looks like a mirror and the reflection is always darker than the thing being reflected.
i had this problem also the only way for me was to reinstall it and leave the static lighting on default
I had it kind of fixed, it required replacing a certain exe to make the game run with no cd with another one(I have no disk drive), and uninstall atmosfear and it's addons. however, installing atmosfear has the issue I was experiencing before which makes me think it's something with it's dynamic lighting dlls fucking up for me, seeing as using the static lighting works and that's the only renderer it does not replace :c

Oh shit. Local objects reflection in STALKER? My life is completed.
I'd like Redux better if it didn't just remove upgrades for no reason at all. Is there a reason for removing weapon / suit upgrades? It's not like it was unbalanced or OP or anything.
trust me, with redux's realistic ballistics, upgrades were all completely broken and would have been stupidly unbalanced without their removal don't worry, v2.0 will bring them back brand new and balanced
I'd like Redux better if it didn't just remove upgrades for no reason at all.
You can restore them via a third party patch found here : http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?akghh72tc6kh57t [editline]herp[/editline] The suits all have 5 artifact slots open by default so if you want to correct that you can look up the correct default values for each suit at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wiki and then modify the ARTEFACT_COUNT on each suit from outfit.ltx. And yeah, like Beacon said the mod was made with no upgrades in mind so it might end up fucking over the balance.
Does anyone know of any mod/tool which allows the player to fly through or teleport to levels in the three games?
