Thinking of replaying Shadow of Chernobyl for the third time, any mods to make it better?
I still want to play the same map with the same gameplay, just maybe adding some stuff

It's such a good experience though. The world feels more alive.
trust me, with redux's realistic ballistics, upgrades were all completely broken and would have been stupidly unbalanced without their removal
don't worry, v2.0 will bring them back brand new and balanced

You can restore them via a third party patch found here :

The suits all have 5 artifact slots open by default so if you want to correct that you can look up the correct default values for each suit at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wiki and then modify the ARTEFACT_COUNT on each suit from outfit.ltx.
And yeah, like Beacon said the mod was made with no upgrades in mind so it might end up fucking over the balance.
I understand. Thanks for the help, I'll try Redux out later today and see how it goes.
I haven't been playing Redux for an hour and I'm already completely fucked. I just keep starving to death because I have no money and I get hungry way too fast.

Try doing the Bloodsucker Lair run, you can get a valuable artifact in exchange for spending a little ammo.
Started a new game, did the strange glowing artifact one first and got 1000RU, sold some stuff, bought some food, ammo and repaired some stuff. I did the Bloodsucker lair second, and Grouse got killed by a pack of dogs before I could start the second part. welp
At-least I'm off to a manageable start. Thanks.

Can I install AtmosFear 3 over Redux or will I break it? Redux uses AF2

You'll break it.
Yep.
AF3 isn't much different anyway!
Found a relatively interesting Call of Pripyat speedrun. Yeah it's on novice difficulty but the point of the video is a few interesting sequence breaking methods (especially one starting at 3.33)

Always fun when freeroam loadout not stats based games are speedrun.
Does anyone have a link to the SoC design document? Specifically, the parts about mutants?

speedruns are awesome even in stalker nice video
I got OGSEM again and now for some reason whenever I go to save the changes in the configuration, they revert to default??
Would anyone happen to know how to gut the filter of a GP-5?
Wanna clean mine up for Halloween, get rid of all them particles, and clear out all the shit from that filter so it doesn't contaminate my sexy lungs.
Greetings, Stalkers. It's been quite a while since i last came into these threads and longer still since i've been around the modding community so i ask a question, what is presently the hardest mod in terms of survival for SoC? 'cause all the mods i've ever played are entirely too lax with the word. I'm talking weather being dangerous, food and sleep requirements, ammo being truly scarce, at no point should i have all the best stuff and tons of money and ammo unless i fought and died for hours for it. Could any of you brothers assist?

I too would like to know the name of such a mod!
It seems as though the difficulty of "survival" is measured by how steep the initial curve is, and no matter what you'll always reach past it and rocket upwards... Turning your personal stashes into swimming pools of customized gear and ammunition.
With that said: Misery 2.0 [for CoP] has a 'blackroad' setting that dumps you out in the gameworld, at midnight, as a completely naked and poor stalker..
I've never played it, but I guess the soup for Shadow of Chernobyl. Misery for Cop does have the blackroad setting, which was the strangest, yet oddly fulfilling start to it, but I never got too far into it due to everything being slightly less appealing the more I played.
You could try OGSEM for Shadow of Chernobyl, set random stash content, put it at at least 20% and customize the rest of the experience around a more difficult setting. Like slower healing and side effects of drug use, all while multiplying the A life spawn of mutants and making blowouts pretty frequent.
