I don't know if it has this option but Milkshape3D seems like a good choice.

They're available for free even if we don't know what you mean.
You just have to be a student, and Autodesk have a pretty broad definition of student.
As far as I know Maya is the go-to problem for level design. Ask Beacon, he's better at this shit than I am.

Probably just wanna test out level design for CoP to see if it is interesting. Nothing in particular currently, I just like trying out new things really.
I still have a version of 3ds Max around on my comp that still works if that counts for anything.
You can get a 3 year student license for 3DS you know.

That is currently what I have; not sure if 3DS works for STALKER level design though.

One of the guys who did level design for Redux was really helpful when I tried to get into 3D modelling. He made some really cool stuff for Stalker, but quit in the end because level design in X-Ray is [I]incredibly frustrating[/I]. If you'd like, I can ask him if he'd give you some tips.

I'm almost past that. I still remember using 3DS 2009 ... Recreated Reactor 1 (iirc) after a years work or something.
I did sign up for 3DS Max 2014 but I reckon ill get kicked off the student program soon.

the problem with the student licenses is you can only get the up to date software
which doesn't have stalker plugins, or bad ones if it does.

Indeed. I lay off working on 3D for stalker as it's off no use really. I am more focussing on stuff like CE nowadays :v: Maybe one day ill hit you up on Skype beac, if i feel like I'm ready for that one idea you had with CE.
And I don't know him. I do know I asked another modeller if he could help you out (the one I linked you) but he suddenly disappeared.

In CoP, anomalies don't affect NPCs. They won't actively try to evade them, but their pre-programmed paths don't generally take them through anomalies.
Can i combine LURK with somthing like Atmosfear for nicer looking stalking

Not really because AF was made for Clear Sky (which got cancelled for some reason) and CoP. So, in theory you could port the sky textures but you'd need to rebuild the weather and lighting from the ground up. Also, you wouldn't have the same fog as you'd have in CS AF2 or CoP AF3 because the fog in Shoc differs from the one in the latter ones.
You could try porting the weather of AA2 into it, but that's more suited to the dark and gritty environment it's in so .. yeah :v:

I personally would go with electrical protection but that is because I tend to do the throw bolt and run through electro trick. Fire anomalies don't do much from my experience and they can usually easily be avoided, especially in CoP.
