I'm gonna go with hammer7's theory. Unpacking then conversion.
I'm gonna go with hammer7's theory. Unpacking then conversion.
Well yeah that's obviously what they've done, I'm just saying I can't figure out how it's done :P

Can't seem to find any contact links anywhere, all their pages are down or not found :/
http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=316&t=108610
Wow. CryModders are dicks. Or mainly these two.
Have I ever told you how fucking fun lucid dreams are?
So, the dream starts off with me and my friend. He's not based off any RL friend, he was with me when the dream started. He's wearing a Sunrise suit, a regular backpack and a SPAS-12 as well as a gasmask. Me, on the other hand, seem to be wearing some sort of army uniform. Greyish camouflage pattern and a chest rack vest. The vest has an equipment belt right at the waist. The belt has two pouches behind, one on the right and two holsters. On the left holster is that one revolver, MP-144 REX I think? And on the right is a stalker knife, except it has spiked brass knuckles around it. As for my chest rack, it's got like four ammo pouches on it. Each has two AK mags and one has a ready revolver cylinder. I, of course, happen to have an RK-95, complete with synthetic furnishing. So, we're walking down the road somewhere near Army Warehouses and we come across this sandbag barricade. It's a circle formation with seven loners holding it. One of them points an unscoped Steyr AUG at us and yells something in what sounds like Russian. Fortunately I somehow understand it. "Who're you? Identify yourselves!" Apparently, me and my friend used handles instead of our real names, makes sense actually. "I'm Viher, and my friend's Putka. We're on our way to Red Forest. You?" He lowers his weapon. All of them are wearing this new looking stalker suit. Seems like a more professionally made Sunrise suit. It's like, more organized and seamless. "We're from the stalker faction Triumph. Heard of it?" "Can't say I have." "Well fuck you. This is our holdout and we're bound to become known after we become heroes of the god damn Zone, ha!" Apparently there's a new faction formed by loners, similar to Defiance. They're kind of like Duty in philosophy, except they want to keep the Zone for loners to exploit, not destroy it. Still, they want to purge all mutants. "We were sent into this outpost to look out for a possible mutant wave. We...could use an extra few guns at our side, as long as you're trustworthy." "What's in it for us, oh Triumphers?" "Cut the shit, I'll give you a few grand. That's assuming you rookies survive. Deal?" I look at Putka (which is finnish for jail" and we shrug, thinking we might as well. So night falls and the campfire's comfy. The sandbag barricade is about chest-waist high. One of the stalkers takes off his balaclava and starts singing some kind of nursery tune. No music, though. Suddenly, we hear screams. Bloodsucker screams. From like five different directions. Everyone nearly shits their pants and starts shouting to each other, asking if they heard the directions right. I confirm five directions, tell Putka to get against the barricade's interior to blast anything coming over it. We form a circle around the campfire facing outwards and there's silence for a while. Nothing but just heavy breathing. Then bloodsuckers. Bloodsuckers everywhere. Like, at least 7. You know how bloodsuckers felt underwhelming compared to their encyclopedia entry in STALKER? THAT ENTRY WAS P ACCURATE FO ME. I saw one of the guys get LIFTED IN THE AIR AND RIPPED IN HALF. Another one was thrown into the campfire and he throwed around in fire, screaming. The other five fell to the ground and fired wildly, making most of the bloodsuckers flee. One of them appears in front of me, but before I can fire a shot, it grabs the barrel grip and twists the gun out of my hands. Feeling lost without my rifle, I pull out my Rex to fire at it's head but hit it's shoulder instead. Pissed off, it grabs my left hand where I'm holding the revolver and holds it upwards. I use my right hand to take my knife and thrust it into the bloodsucker's throat with all of my might. Frankly, that fucker has a thick hide. The knife doesn't penetrate. Then the thing grabs my left wrist firmly and FLINGS ME out of the barricade ring and onto the grass like 30 meters away. My left wrist hurts like shit and I swap the Rex into my right hand. I shoot blindly at the direction I was thrown from five times before dropping the empty gun and grabbing my knife. As the sucker throws itself on top of me and tries to suck my throat with it's tentacles, I block it's mouth with my hurting left arm. I try to jab my knife's tip into one of it's eyes. That makes it get off me, flailing wildly while covering it's face with it's hands. I don't waste time and tackle the two meter tall mutant down, pressing at it's throat with my left arm as I jam my knife into it's mouth. My hand and wrist follows. I feel the tip hitting it's skull's interior. The thing stops moving and I pull out my very, very messied hand and knife. It's like covered in gray brain matter, spit and some blood. I'm like "hyi saatana" which is finnish for "jesus fuck ew" :V. So I shake it once or twice and start running back to the barricade. My arm gets oddly better (dream logic idk) and notice one of the corpses. The glorious bastard dropped a motherfucking PKM. I rush towards it, slide along the ground, grab it and stand up. The two bloodsuckers that I evaded get showered in PKM rounds and I start shooting every visible fucker possible. As I run out of rounds, I drop the incredibly heavy LMG and look around for my RK-95. I notice it a few meters away, scramble to it panting and sweating, grab it and get tackled by another bloodsucker. I shoot a hole in it's stomach with my RK point blank and with great effort, push the body off myself. I stand up, take out the empty mag, pull one from my chest pouch, put it in and rack the receiver bolt. One of the faction folks shout "BEHIND YOU" and Putka is aiming straight at me as I turn around. He fires and half of an invisible bloodsucker's head flies right off onto my face. Dat smell. Like rotten flesh. Anywho, I wipe the blood off my face and nervously walk around. One last bloodsuckers attempts to make a swipe at me but I manage to actually trip it. I jam my RK into it's spinal cord and pull the trigger, actually decapitating it. All of us are panting and heaving. The sun rises soon after and the guy pays me 1500 electronically via PDA's. Neat PDA's by the way. I had a Nokia model :V The two of us leave after cleaning ourselves up mostly and wave at them as we continue down the road. Around that time I feel sleepy and fall on the pavement. Just as I hit it I wake up covered in sweat.
Shit was cash.
I think I'm the only one who likes the AN-94, everyone says they hate the sights yet they're perfect for me.

My favourite part of that gif is the fact that they have the newer model that H&K fixed up, which has none of these issues.
I think I'm the only one who likes the AN-94, everyone says they hate the sights yet they're perfect for me.
In terms of gameplay the sights are neat and it plays well. In terms of realism I wouldn't touch that thing. Ever.
I'm usually too happy with the 2-round burst mode's effectiveness to notice or care about the sights.
but the two-round burst works exactly the same like holding down the trigger in full-auto for half a second it's not like the 1800RPM burst mode works in the engine
Do the shots in the two round burst even hit the same spot?
I don't think so, or maybe I should say that it depends.
Do the shots in the two round burst even hit the same spot?
Not automatically.
;40624643'] In terms of realism I wouldn't touch that thing. Ever.
But it's cool as fuck :( Seriously though, in a hostile environment like the Zone, I'd probably pack an AK-74 instead. Reliability>flashy recoil systems
Yeah something easy to clean would be more important than fancy instant two bursts.

Looks awesome for early Alpha.
Jesus I didn't even realize at first. Looking sexy. Quoting for new page:
Survarium alpha screenshots
What's the deal with the gloves in the top image though?
and gameplay:
Boy this is never going to run on my computer. -snip- nvm It's already free 2 play.
That doesn't look too bad, actually.
Besides the guy playing not being too good it looks pretty slick. More interested in the free mode etc though.
Looks alright considering their last experience with competitive multiplayer was STALKER MP.
Looks alright considering their last experience with competitive multiplayer was STALKER MP.
Funnily enough I didn't find Stalker MP all that bad it basically just needed what Survarium is adding in terms of persistence and map sizes. The future looks good.
[t]http://puu.sh/2SShO.png[/t] What do you guys think of putting HUD icons along the bottom right of the screen like this?
Funnily enough I didn't find Stalker MP all that bad it basically just needed what Survarium is adding in terms of persistence and map sizes. The future looks good.
STALKER's MP actually had a good formula, its just the netcode was pretty awful
