Plan your skirmishes, use AP ammo, use cover / height advantages and stay the **** away from the waste processing plant early on in the game :v:
BETA testing lead me to those points. Also, killing friendlies is a viable option, based upon the gear they have.
For those who have Misery 2.0.2, you guys could get to the Jupiter Factory??? that damn place is full of the OP Chimeras, each one has like, 2000 of life and, even shooting 20 grenade launchers shots in the head are not sufficient.
Also, they always one-hit kill you so, this REALLY needs to get balanced urgently.
Recently i tried the Autumn Aurora 2.0 mod for SHoC and, it´s pretty cool and very well elaborated but, the shaking-effects of the camera and the "100%" precision of the AI, make the game unplayable.

I hope they increase ground light. The sky is way too bright for the ground to be that dark.
I never realised how amazing Clear Sky is until now. It's honestly my favourite in the series.

Then you haven't really enjoyed Call of Pripyat (Or Shadow of Chernobyl, whatever floats your boat. I prefer the open exploration).

I still reckon SoC has best atmosphere and feels, CS has best maps and CoP has best quests/story
I hope all 3 STALKER games go -75% at some point during/after the sales.
It's just that Limansk is one of the most memorable places in the entire series. No other game really has an area like Limansk.

CS has something that I've yet to find, but I'm still enjoying it more than I did CoP
CoP has arguably best gameplay, with the quick keys for healing and overall interactiveness with the environment, also good mods
The annoying thing (that I find at least) is that CoP's story doesn't take in the Destroying C-Consciousness ending. Then again, I don't think a canon ending was ever set for SoC.

Also that is the reason why blowouts are much more frequent in Call of Pripyat.

[sp]You don't get it. The C-Consciousness' existence wasn't a necessity for Zone's existence. If it were, the C-Consciousness would've probably had no qualms in dying peacefully. After Strelok destroys the whole thing, the Zone is left unchecked, uncontrolled by anything and free to do whatever the fuck it wants.[/sp]

But yes it does. Look at the whole Monolithian situation in Pripyat - they're no longer receiving ordered from the C-Con.

Unfortunately I couldn't stand to play CoP anymore after my first play through, the stuttering that can't be resolved has stopped me from playing it again. It's apparently caused by the A-life system when NPC come in proximity.

Seems to me like you're doing something wrong in both situations :v:
First off, read what's written on the MISERY page about ammunition spendings and how we balanced various ammo to be good against various targets (f.e. AP is good against humans, while FMJ is pretty good against muties with 12G being even better etc.)
And for AA2; It's not a run-and-gun blaze yourself through everything mod. I'm playing it and I've only died 3 times and I'm already going to yantar. You just have to learn how to make good use of cover. Lean, crouch, hide your body and scout ahead. The enemies miss, but not when you're full in the open.

I must admit, I play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. kind of how I play ARMA (3rd person etc.)
But, I also use the PDA much more frequent to check who's in my vicinity, as enemies don't show up on the minimap

[sp]c-con never had any control of the zone, it was an unprecedented error in their psychic research, one huge anomaly. when stalkers made their way to the wish granter, the zone only grew each time. but for some reason, strelok's killing of those that made the zone made it go away, so why would it return? they clearly had some form of connection to it.[/sp]
I like the fact that there is a M4A1 in OWR but I don't like the fact that there isn't a LR300. Other than that, stuff seems to look really nice so far.

Hmmm, should be an easy port to get the old LR300 model back. I've still got OWR1.0
AA2 looks so pretty and shit that i think i'll try it

I AM playing v2 standard though. Haven't yet patched it to 2.0.3. They removed some stuff and fixed a few things but truth to be told, I haven't had a single crash since I started. Damn impressive, for a SHoC mod (excluding ZRP ofcourse lol)

In my opinion, it does survival well, however, it's infuriating combat-wise.
Which mods are good for SOC and COP ?
Might as well add Clear Sky if it has any good ones ?
Also why do the ballistics in SoC feel so much better than the rest. I think it might be due to the fact that every bullet does look like a giant orange laser
