I'd love to play this, but I have no idea how you play stuff like these. Is there a guide somewhere?
congratulations, you win the Most Passive-Aggressive Post Of 2013 award!
Prove me wrong then, mr. smartguy.

The only thing you have to worry about is that numbers match numbers and that you understand how the action list stuff works. Everything else functions depending on how well you can roleplay.

I see, thanks.

if you want some Clear Sky classic experience, try that one, it fixes a lot of the CS bugs so, is usefull.
ANYWAY i´m not expert in CS mods so, that´s what i can say.
I've always been curious, who/what is this guy supposed to be on the SoC cover?

Misery has the most bullshit AI in the universe. Out walking by the merc base to find a good vantage point for an assault, they instantly see me in dense fog. Same thing happened with a bandit that was at the old gas station, he dropped me in 4 shots in a heavy rainstorm from over 300M away, while i was aiming at him through my rifle scope.

that´s Adrian Shephard placed in Chernobyl by Gman ("the right man in the wrong place can do the difference")
If you thought that he would be frozen by Gman 4ever, NOPE, you´re wrong

No.
You'd better off with stuff like Total Faction Warfare, Presky, or The Warmongers.
Total Faction Warfare is highly recommended if you have completed the vanilla Clear Sky.
For fixes, get Sky Reclamation Project

My best advise against the "human" AI, be sneaky, be pacient and flank them, that´s the best way to drop them.

You mean bad skin guy?
I assume he's a Zombie or something. He doesn't correspond to any character, afaik.
no no, this guy
Could be a civilian zombie / Counterpart mutant but really, it's likely not referring to any exact creature or character, it's just a cover art thing.

AFAIK almost no mod out there has penalties for A.I in bad weather conditions so while fog and other effects make it really hard to see shit in Misery, the fact that the A.I is not penalized is not unique to Misery.

Try switching DX version.
Yes, the lack of any STALKESOUP downloads is kinda disturbing. Where can i find the the .DB version with the latest patch?
This last page really made me realise what kind of people who're posting here, again.

We're a mixed bunch.
For Loner1's question about combat sim and what-not...
STALKER in its very core has been a pseudo-arcadey shooter to begin with. While you can steer it towards a more "realistic" direction there is only so much you can do that before it becomes detrimental to the gameplay. Going overboard with this would mean that other gameplay mechanics would also have to be severely adjusted to compensate for this drastic change in combat.
But if you insist...
One thing I find that STALKERSOUP did right for example is that shotguns weren't 90 degree cone shot hoses of ridiculousness. From the flesh farm in Cordon I could drop an army guy at the railroads with a well placed SPAS-12 grapeshot. That's still a very realistic range, no more than 50 meters. That is something I've never seen in other mods so far and it really is something I'd like to see. As for assault rifles and battle rifles, in my opinion they have too much spread. EVERYTHING has a little too much spread. I'd like to take a rather unorthodox comparison here: Blacklight Retribution.
That game originally had bullet spread on a lot of weapons. After people complained that combat just degraded into jamming your SMG's barrel into the enemy's mouth and spraying until one of the two dies, they changed the mechanic quite a lot. In the new gunplay spread was reduced RIDICULOUSLY. A lot of guns could fire nearly pinpoint accurately from the hip. So, what the fuck right, now it's laser guns. Well, not exactly. See, they instead made the recoil a bigger thing. The screen twitched with each shot and as such, controlling recoil as well as using the weapons in their effective range was what determined your lethality, not lucky spread.
In STALKER, a couple of factors could bring this into what I would at least imagine to be an enjoyable state...
* Losing kinetic energy over distance depending on the caliber
This would not only make people account for the bullet drop at longer distances, it would also prevent people from sniping with pistols halfway across Zaton. While technically possible, it wouldn't be feasible as it'd feel like a hard pebble bouncing off your helmet if fired for such a long distance, if we're talking about like a 9x18 round. A .338 Lapua Magnum round on the other hand would still have a lot of energy and could in fact be used to snipe halfway across Zaton, provided that you have visuals.
*99.9% and falling accuracy
No weapon is absolutely accurate. There is just no making a 100% accurate gun. However, the gun spread could be reduced to a minimum and the recoil could play a higher emphasis. This way submachine guns that have less recoil could be more reasonable options than their more mule kicking friends, the assault rifles and battle rifles. More controllable, less damage. On top of this, weapon degradation shouldn't reduce the accuracy into a ridiculous 30 degree cone, but only be noticeable at mid-long range shots. Unless the gun is made out of wax, the barrel just won't magically widen up into a blunderbuss.
*Effective range of weapons vs. effective range of calibers
I don't know exactly if this can be implemented, but the actual effective range of a weapon and the bullet chambered should be calculated by the potential the round can store in itself and how much of that the weapon can exert into it upon firing. For example an AK-74 and an AN-94 have different ranges despite having the same caliber because of their inner workings. These kinds of differences in functionality could mean that every weapon is unique in its own way without really doing much with appearance.
Again, I don't know if these can be implemented, but this, in my opinion, is how a good balance could be achieved. Oh and make shit not degrade at lightning speed, real guns can take thousands of rounds before jamming...well, depending on how well they're manufactured. FN Herstal's weapons are a little infamous for jamming (looking at you P90 and F2000) but an AK variant probably won't jam after even 1000-2000 rounds.
