http://www.moddb.com/mods/cop-original-weapons-renewal
and absolute nature 3, Pretty much just that since i dont see anything else that improves the visual aesthetics ( animations, textures etc )
It'd be nice if the OP was actually maintained since all the links of suggested mods are down.
After playing SGM 2.1, 2.2, and SMRTER, what are some other global mods that drastically change the storyline and gameplay? Besides Misery and Redux.
what are some other global mods that drastically change the storyline and gameplay?
Valley of Whispers, Winter of Death : Ultimatum and Way to Pripyat.
I have to confess something ...
I never played the soup :v:

The best things about Soup are the massive amounts of content it adds imo. Tons of artifacts, weapons, new armors, better ballistics, nice challenge without (too much) BS, and new quests, and changes to original quests. You can even plop artifacts down in anomolies and change them into new and more potent forms. For instance turning a Soul into Soul Drops which are quite potent, the three yes THREE better forms of Mama's Beads, and the ability to trade artifacts directly for equipment from vendors.
Barkeep will give you various ammo types and guns and repair kits for specific artifacts for instance, and once you get to Yantar, you can hand over 3 Mama's Beads to Sakharov for a Gauss Rifle. All of this combines to change the way you play the game fairly drastically, and that's not even mentioning the number of new areas to visit and fight through and explore.

Aren't most of the new areas a huge hassle to get to ? Like the way I understand is that the level changers to the new areas are hidden or you have to complete a series of missions to gain access to a guide that will take you to new level x and then to get to another level you'll have to jump through a new series of hoops et al ?
Please do correct me if I'm making wrong assumptions here but that's what I've gathered based on posts about the Soup and various streams.

Some of them are indeed a hassle to access, you are right. Basically some of the new areas require you to get a certain way into the story or maybe do a series of side quests, and once you do it your PDA will call out "new transition discovered: Area 1 -> Area 2" and then you can use it, similar to how you need the stash coords before any actual items will appear in a stash. Some of these can be pretty frustrating when you want to access a certain area but you don't know who's butt to smooch in order to actually unlock the transition.
Valley of Whispers, Winter of Death : Ultimatum and Way to Pripyat.
Installed Winter of Death and as soon as I stepped out of the building you start in my FPS tanked from 50 to fucking 20 and I had to kill like 15 military dudes by myself because all my merc buddies bugged out were just idly standing around getting shot at.
The UI and everything else is horrible as well.
Valley of Whispers was cool though.
Hopefully Way to Pripyat has a little more effort put into it.
Am I stalker enough?

Might wanna turn your volume up, recorded with a bottle of Vodka and a loaf of bread.

Go now, the Soup beckons.
I'm having a really bad crashing bug that I need serious help with because it is preventing me from doing ANYTHING.
Playing the Soup, I just finished X-16, gave Sakharov Ghost's PDA, and everything, now I am on my way to Rostok to bring the papers to the Barkeep. BUT HERE IS WHERE THINGS FUCK UP.
No matter what I do, I keep crashing in Wild Territory, I can go to the downed helicopter and screw with dudes, I can go around the trainyard, BUT. The second I get close to the long straight building you go through, the one where wolfhounds first thugs shoot at you from the windows when you first get to Wild Territory, to get to the Rostok door I crash.
EVERY TIME. It doesn't always crash in the exact same spot, sometimes I get to the hall, sometimes I barely get out of it, and sometimes I don't even quite get into it, but I always crash and it is preventing me from progressing because I need to get to Rostok obviously. Also, once I am past the tunnel with all the burners, if I try and head back that way towards Yantar, I crash in the same way, every time. It won't let me out of Wild Territory. Any help? Please? I just want to play...
I apparently can't load any saves in CoP because they don't appear at all. They're all in the right folder and they're not corrupted or anything. Has anyone else ever experience this issue? I'd love some help because I need my SGM 2.2 fix.
I do have a lot of saves in the folder. Should I remove some older ones or should they be all popping up regardless?

Pretty much the main reason as to why I can't play Soup anymore. I lost all of my saves and I just can't be arsed to go through all of that BS again. Great mod with lots of content but I just hate how you have to discover level transitions. Some are really nondescript as well.
I don't suppose there's a torrent for LURK 1.1 or something? Because right now I got 13 hours left in my chrome download :v:
I've got a strange issue with playing CoP.
In 2012 I finally started noticing the stalker games, CoP in particular with atmosfear - and one of the blowout vids made me decide that I had to play these games.
So I started Shoc with the intention of powering through to CoP (I was pleasantly surprised when I found that I loved it), went all the way through CS (burned me out for a bit, mix of hate/love on this one) and I finally get to CoP? I've started it 3 times, and each time I've stopped while exploring Jupiter.
I have absolutely no idea why. I love it when I'm playing it, but I just end up stopping. I mean hell I've went back and replayed SoC already despite not having played through CoP.
Last time was a couple weeks ago, started again and was all excited when I had time to play it - shut it down and the next day played something else.

The large levels that felt empty were what really felt like a drag for me. The glory of SoC and CS was the fact that the levels were still fairly large but they were compact enough to have some more interesting things going on. Don't get me wrong, CoP's levels had quite a lot going on, but it felt too spaced out because of the level design.
You should power through because it does get pretty cool when you reach Pripyat.

I know how you feel. I don't know why, but I've never seen the ending of CoP. CoP is easily my favorite game and I love the shit out of it, but for some reason I have a tenancy to avoid it and not play it? I think I just burn out extremely hard without realizing it. It'll be a month before I play it again, but when I do I can't put it back down for a few weeks. Cycle repeats.

I wish it got the same quality mods that SoC gets. I feel CoP has much better maps for indefinite play compared to SoC, but damn does it get neglected.
Thinking about it, maybe it's a subconscious thing? STALKER 2 isn't coming, and it never has to end if I don't make it end.
Gives me something new to look forward to at least.
Is Stalker Soup only for Shadows of Cherno?
And can someone name me a good CoP mod that's not Misery? Because that mod won't work for some reason.
SGM

Redux and Doom'sCoPMerge, too.
Just going to repeat myself for the people who might missed it;

I need BETA testers and feedback for Particle Paradise 2.2. I'd like to ask who would like to volunteer, because there's 42 unique artefacts in SHoC now and I want each one of them to be unique in stats (not the usual 'bad, good, best' progression system for them) but I'll need serious input for that.
I also need to adjust which anomalies spawn which artefacts and truth to be told, I'm kinda stuck here :v:

This remdinds me of when I was 13 and I first played cop.
I finished it several times. In pripyat I was scared and constantly thinking something was gonna jump out. It had great atmosphere.

well now, that's exciting
I'm looking forward to running around, trying out all the new guns, then getting bored because it's the same levels with the same missions and the same basic gameplay.
Hopefully it'll mean a lot of HQ weapon models for the community, though. Plus they have done some pretty original stuff.

I'm thinking of taking another shot at Soup or OGSE but I'm not sure.
What mods would you guys suggest for SoC that add a decent amount of content? Is Kingo's AMK+OL+LURK merge good?
