From this angle it looks more like Darkscape.
After finishing the new Metro, I would like to say that the Moscow sections were done PERFECTLY as I would loved them in Stalker. The mutants weren't completely aggressive, which is a big boner-killer for me in the Stalker series..

There was even a level that reminded me a shitload of wild territory
I hope lost alpha will have some good industrial areas because they are the most fun to explore, forests are mostly pretty boring apart from CS red forest
The more I think about the maps in Call of Pripyat, the more bored I become. Jesus, they were just really terrible.

Jupiter factory was the best part but in the end it turned out to be empty.
Pripyat had a couple cool individual buildings but overall it was just a large field blocked by huge boxes that happened to look like apartment buildings.

You guys should try this mod, it's people soup 10x harder and crazy.

Redux is going to fix this, but we need modelers :/
Oh god it even has a nonsense name
I need a good mod for SoC that isn't LURK. Something that kinda ups the rate of random encounters even in 'tame' places like Cordon, and makes the graphics a bit better. Something exciting.

You could try Zone of Alienation. It's kind of similar to AMK 1.4.1 but it features heavier graphical enhancements (which may not be in everyone's taste) , expanded arsenal and well, steeper difficulty.
It has all the important AMK features like more varied and amped-up A-Life, NPC PDA message system, anomalies that can change places after blowouts, artifact cooking and sleeping.
If you haven't tried AMK 1.41 then I'd recommend starting with that because ZoA is a bit on the extreme side if you're unfamiliar with AMK .
Do note that both of the mods mentioned are for 1.004 version of SoC.
God damn it, was trying to install OGSE to Clear sky before I realized it was for SoC. What's another good mod that adds things like OGSE for clear sky?

OGSM?
OGSM?
fuck.
Well no wonder it keeps jamming, she's using a bloody A1 variant.
Might as well be an M16A1 because that was just as shoddy
The M16A1 has its share of flaws, but it isn't too bad.
The original M16 though, that thing was absolute crap.
*The propellant for the original ammo was the cheap, corrosive type
*The specifications called for chrome-lined internals. The manufacturers secretly skipped out on that, leading to a weapon that would jam after 2-3 rounds
*In the event of a jam, the weapon had to be pried apart and cleaned
*No cleaning kits were issued, and the men were told that the weapon was self cleaning. That couldn't have been further from the truth
*Direct impingement system? Really? (still an issue, but a decent workaround is in place)

I'm going to be getting back into 3d modelling soon since I'm starting some projects with friends and taking a gap year. If I get up to a high enough standard again I'd definitely want to help as much as possible. Is there anything specifically you want modelling or is it just overall stuff?
I may also be able to animate, funnily enough I picked up 3d animation quicker than the actual modelling.

Building interiors, we need building interiors. If you could help that would be awesome. Have you done any modelling for x-ray before?

Anyway, everyone knows the AK is the best.

Ah well much easier for me then, I'm usually better at environmental art than anything. Not touched anything to do with X-ray properly before but it wouldn't be a problem learning at all.

Jupiter Plant - Redux vs Vanilla 2
Another comparison shot to show what we're doing around the Jupiter Plant - you'll notice the total removal of the barbed wire fences, and the addition of a lot of new geometry to the level to give it more life.
Right now, we're quite busy with real-life stuff, hence the time between the last updates. Exams and coursework have been taking our time up, but soon it will be Summer and more time will be spent modding!
Okay, I know you guys hate mods on the first playthrough, but I've put like 8-10 hours into vanilla STALKER: SoC and I kinda felt ehhh about it. It looks really cool and I'd like to get in to it, but I was wondering if there were any mods that don't totally change the game but might make a few improvements.

Perfect. It's really not hard, and you'll have the exteriors of buildings to work with as well as other interiors for examples. It's really a matter of quickly fleshing out a building, adding some detail (skirting boards, pillars etc) and UV-mapping and texturing with the Stalker textures. Easy :)
X-Ray is a pain in terms of plugins but we could get you set up I'm sure :)
Wanna add me on Steam and we can talk some time?

Bare in mind I don't have a portfolio (3d work at least) at hand as I haven't done anything in time so I'd say gimme a while to brush up then I'll get right to it. If it's mostly interior spaces then I doubt there'll be much trouble besides learning to work with X-ray.
I'll add you tomorrow and see if I can dig up any 3d work if I've got it. Thanks for the opportunity!

That's a perfect situation to start installing mods, IMO. You've already played the vanilla game, know what you don't like (what don't you like?), and are willing to find a mod that fixes that instead of blindly installing Complete or what have you.

I couldn't care less about a portfolio as long as you can do what needs doing, it's the work that counts for me :)
Looking forward to chatting with you!
