I dare you to play it unpatched
I don't think he can. :v:
-well uploading.com has reverse day so snipdat i fixed it- [editline]16th January 2014[/editline] Do you always start as Merc in TFW? i was atop of the Watertower and heard a Bloodsucker since im afraid of them (i hate them since i first encoutered them in agroprom underground back in SHoC) i did as the game told me by a friendly mission objective saying "RUN!" and i ran like a little bitch.
Go to the waypoint and you'll meet a stalker who will give you an option to travel to any of the main faction bases. Once you arrive at a base you can start to gain their loyalty to join them. The actual Merc faction doesn't require any missions to join them as you are already a Merc (but not within their faction)
Yeah i meet them Loners already youre supposed to i was just wondering but thank you Lad! ill be sure to use that information for good.
STALKERs in mordor Sounds like a russian mod to me :v: Screen res. What do you play at and at what FOV?
1680x1050 and i left it at 67.5. should I have changed it to 75?
1680x1050 and i left it at 67.5. should I have changed it to 75?
I have the same res and yes, definitely. On a completely unrelated note, I just stepped into the adult world and turned 18 :v: Time flies, when you're modding
I just watched the Stalker movie today and oh my gawd. I can't believe how boring that movie could be. I haven't watched anything that boring in a long time. And how the hell did they manage to make it 2 and half hours long? I feel kinda bad, but it was just way too damn boring. And you know I'd like to think that I'm intellectual enough to fully understand it. I know it's old and all, but damn... Just :suicide:

As you can see, vanilla shoc
So, errr, this is something I can do right now? This looks so fucking nice.
So, errr, this is something I can do right now? This looks so fucking nice.
Yup, go here: http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2008 Second page, 2 links, download them both. Also, facepunch wished me a happy Bday. Nice
The one thing about ENB's is the excessive bloom or blur effect. It has never sat well with me, sure, making things crispy and saturated is fine but real human eyes don't blur everything out after 20 feet, unless you have bad eyesight. Not bashing or anything but ever since the mad ENB fest when Skyrim was the 'thing' it's never been the same. it does look pretty nice though, ditch the blur and it's win-win.
You know what would be cool? Those really eerie ambient screams in the background in some maps in SoC should be death screams. I'm not sure if it would be possible, but wouldn't it be cool if there was a mod that would make the echo-y distant scream the sound played when an NPC is killed by a mutant, like a bloodsucker or controller off in the distance?
I have the same res and yes, definitely. On a completely unrelated note, I just stepped into the adult world and turned 18 :v: Time flies, when you're modding
Doesn't seem to have changed the binoc animation also would that enb work with AA2? also happy bday

You aren't going to use it. Not really directed at you Thomo, I just don't want the same asinine process to occur in here too. One thing though, I like some of the visual impairments/distortions because human vision isn't perfect, and too me it is actually more immersive, if you toggle everything well.
Holy shit I found the receipt for my copy of Shadow of Chernobyl right behind the manual in the case. I now know the exact gamestop I got it at, and I got it with my dad on 3/05/08, at 5:22 pm - 3 days before my birthday :D

I wouldn't a slight blur around the edges, similar to vignetting but with blur.
This might be me being a retard and not reading the thread-- but have you guys tried this link?
Okay. For some reason, one of the Duty guy at the entrance was trying to kill me and nobody was giving a shit. Was he some sort of Monolith spy?
Wow, Autumn Aurora is pleasantly challenging and pants-shitting. I wish soldiers made footsteps, though.
I like AA2, I put back the original SoC music though. I guess I haven't replayed the game enough to be tired of it. I wish it was a little less desaturated though, gonna play around with sweetfx to see if I can fix that. Also here's me nitpicking - one small gripe I have is some of the weapon visuals. The AK74U has a nice texture, and a great animation to match, while stuff like the AK74 or the SAIGA have much more basic anims (from LURK, i believe?), and their textures have "painted on" lighting - which I feel kind of makes them almost feel like they belong in two different games. I've actually ended up using the AK74U more over the 74 because they are so similar in stats, and I like the feel of the anims and the look better. Other then that, I'm enjoying it a lot
Haven't checked up on this thread in a long while. Anything new happen since?
How far back we talking? Lost Alpha has some new screens as usual, Misery has a 2.1 beta patch that apparently isn't as artificially difficult as 2.0 is, Autumn Aurora 2 released, Shoker Weapon Mod 2.0 and Original Weapons Renewal came out, among other things.
Bout a month and a half or so. Haven't played STALKER in a good amount of time either, and it isn't like I can play any of those mods on the shit I'm typing this on. Makes me miss the old days when the game still felt so fresh.
SHOKER 2 released, albeit buggy :v:
Is it translated yet? If not i could possibly know a russian whos good in english and could be asked to translate it
Shoker 2 released? What? Oh shit time to get back into stalker.
Is it translated yet? If not i could possibly know a russian whos good in english and could be asked to translate it
IIRC Monolits created one, it's a few pages back
Is it translated yet? If not i could possibly know a russian whos good in english and could be asked to translate it
I'm the guy who's behind translating it and have a rather old version of it released. It's for an obsolete patch and is in a terrible need of updating, but luckily enough today is friday, which means I have free time for it, and the devs released a new patch on the 16th. I tend to announce new releases of my Shoker Mod 2.0 translation either here or here on the forums. I also keep them on my ModDB profile.
john carmack finished reading roadside picnic today!
He'd better play SoC now
Did a quick update for the Shoker Mod 2 translation. The missing text strings are the mod's fault and I haven't touched those yet. I may change them in a future patch if the devs don't bother to update that for a bit too long, perhaps. Download it from here or here.
john carmack finished reading roadside picnic today!
I kind of like how he says that it was his foray into soviet sci-fi literature.
