S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: The Zone will stop the Russians - Games

Jesus christ, why is there so many mutants in OLR in the garbage. I entered and within a minute I was swarmed by 20 dogs, then I ran away and got attacked by a pack of fleshes, a bunch of zombies, a bloodsucker, and ANOTHER 20 pack of dogs.

That's normal for vanilla too.

Watched Stalker (1979) for the first time today. I loved it

It is [i]very loosely[/i] based on Roadside Picnic and so STALKER fans flock to it and praise it but in reality, had it not been for the video game, the movie would've remained the same average and pointlessly long film it had always been. The day it aired, back in 79', Soviet moviegoers were literally leaving the cinema mid-film and the ones that stayed said that the scenes were far too long than they should be, the characters had no arcs to them, no development whatsoever, and in general it was just very very long and dull. They also filmed the entire thing in an abandoned waste treatment plant and many of the filming crew members died of cancer in later years which is a shame, because the film basically went into obscurity shortly after airing, before turning into a semi-cult film when the video game series was released. In general, it is pretty depressing. On its own, the film is simply not very good.

Because of having a few philosophical thoughts in it a bunch of idiots say it's too deep and another bunch of idiots say it's short and boring.

Trying to play clear sky with the warmongers mod but it crashes right after the loading screen The readme says to try a few times the first time you launch it but I've tried like a dozen times by now Judging by the readme the mod seems like a buggy trainwreck so I'm not even sure if it's worth the hassle in the end
