Aim for the head
I'd like to imagine that an Exoskeleton specialized in combat should have a pretty good head protection as well.
Against 12G would be very doubtful at close range :v: A PB might be a little ... yeah, but a shotty like a spas12 ...
Ah, I see. Which version was this in? I didn't encounter it, hence why :v: I now do wonder ... where the hell did Holden go?
lost to the zone. BTW Loner1 you seem like you know your shit about the engine and I could use a hand or ten with the SDK right now, how abouts we trade Skype/Steam info
That looks both good as bad. Looks cell shaded. I may also say that it looks like it was edited in some way, like it was made way sharper.
Broken DoF, I say. The most weak thing in Stalker's visuals.

Do mind, I'm in my exam period so I'll be of minimal help :v: I will be on skype every day so that won't be a problem. Hope the time zones wont screw us over though [editline]30th January 2014[/editline]
Broken DoF, I say. Might also be .jpg compression. I've ever since I got Fraps used .png for everything.

I've lost far to many hours to that myself, all of them just as frustrating as the next. :v:
Ah yes the SDK. I've lost far to many hours to that myself, all of them just as frustrating as the next. :v:
I always found it to be reasonable. You had to take care of her, then she'd take care of you.
I always found it to be reasonable. You had to take care of her, then she'd take care of you.
I guess she never liked me then. I'd caress her beautiful buttons and whisper sweet serenades into her ear, before kindly asking her to compile my levels and my models, before she'd turn she bitch on me. :v: Nah but in all seriousness. It wasn't THAT bad I guess. It was just the start when getting to grips with it. After that I got the workflow and was able to pump out Models and such with ease. Pretty fun once ya get into it really. [editline]30th January 2014[/editline] By the way Loner. I added ya on steam.
Plus that a separate installation of Windows XP hosted on a VM would be pretty handy dandy [editline]30th January 2014[/editline]
I guess she never liked me then. I used to easily get into the sdk, place some new anomalies, move others around, some static effects here, others there. It indeed was great fun! And no prob, I accepted already ;)
Yup. I want to get back into it when I have free time and start pumping out the various mod Ideas that I have in my head. It's just free time is somewhat lacking. Although on the upside I got my new rig set up. So I'm not longer trying to run anything on a old ass P4 anymore. :v: Steam still says the invite is pending. :v:

I've got loads of stuff written down on paper waiting to be used. One of these would be to have a sphere with small radiation covering every level, so it would be obligatory to carry a suit. Not a too high value, just minimal, you know. This, added with loads of anomalies ... PPx2.2 will prolly feature this

PPx2.2 will prolly feature this
That sounds pretty intriguing, the idea of having radiation generally rather than in localized places could add interesting mechanics to the game. I still need to finish shell ejection, although with Shockers implementation of it, albeit it they handle it entirely differently. I'm not sure if there is much reason to keep pursuing that. That and I got a ton of Artifact ideas and such to pump out. :v:
That and I got a ton of Artifact ideas and such to pump out. :v:
You should definitely talk to Loner about this since PPx is going to have dem new artifacts.. Y'all bring me concepts and I'll work descriptions and witty names for 'em...probably.
Radiation idea.
You know what, that sounds like something I could expect to see in NLC. Which I still want to get around to playing one day.
welp you guys may have just stumbled on a certain feature yet to be announced but in-game and working for redux 2.0....

Is there a patch for fixing some quests being "unmarkable" for tracking? I swear, I can mark some and some, I can't do that to know where I must go. I have to keep looking at the map over and over. Is this a feature or a bug?

For instance, getting an artefact will not give you tips / marked areas while destroying muties / stalkers will, encourages the searching in-game

You should unlearn to look at the PDA map for anything else besides the general location of the quest because it's basically useless in terms of when you want a specific location of the target. Like in one fetch quest the marker can point to a completely wrong level and it will just end up leading you astray. I don't think even ZRP has managed to completely unfuck the SoC PDA's quest markers.

Decided to help Freedom take down Skull and his rogue Duty guys under the assumption that I wouldn't get shot at by Duty when I went back to the bar. How wrong I was.
I've played beaten ShoC several times and CoP once or twice over the past few years, never tried clear sky but it sounds interesting with the faction war concept. Would you guys recommend me getting and if so, any mods that are really good after the first playthrough?
any mods that are really good after the first playthrough?
The Faction War is the most prominent one but it shouldn't be used for the first playthrough since it rips out the story and just focuses on the Faction Wars.
Would you guys recommend me getting
It's a fun shooter to romp through but the final level sucks and the faction wars, while it's an interesting concept, isn't as well implemented as I would've hoped. Basically it doesn't have a whole lot of depth to it in vanilla, at least the Freedom / Duty Faction wars don't. The bandit faction war is actually relatively interesting because there are some unique quests you have to do in order to actually join the bandits. It's definitely recommendable if you liked SoC and CoP but it comes with a reservation in that it has some design decisions that I didn't agree with at all. For first playthrough I'd recommend mods like SRP + karstux pistol ironsights fix. SRP is basically an unofficial bugfix and it's very recommendable since it fixes a few annoying bugs that are present in vanilla even in the fully updated version. Karstux pistol ironsights restores ironsights to pistols because for some reason Clear Sky vanilla doesn't allow you to ironsight with pistols. [editline]herp[/editline]
Wow, that's a really weird design choice...
It is, but I think that the developers wanted to make it harder to cheese the military blockpost with the starting makarov or something. Either way it doesn't make very much sense but thankfully most mods restore the pistol ironsights. Also there are some issues with the animations that the stalkers now have : basically Clear Sky included a lot of new animations for faction wars like vaulting over covers, blindfiring from behind cover and so on. Well, it's good and all that but some of the animations make the NPCs invulnerable during the animations, probably so that the game wouldn't crash if an NPC was killed mid-animation but it also means that enemies will occasionally be relatively bulletspongy at times. With SRP+kartstux pistol ironsights I think that the bullet-sponginess of the enemies isn't actually that bad anymore but shotguns are still incredibly weak aside from the over-under TOZ-34 shotgun. Basically 6-8 torso shots with a Makarov should kill a bandit.

Joining a clan of potheads sounded like a good idea at the time I just committed Duty genocide but I can't finish the faction war because freedom is still standing around the Garbage likely getting wasted This was on Master difficulty too, I wasted like 1.5k ammo [thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/102775431/xrEngine%202014-01-30%2020-03-34-94.bmp[/thumb]
Got sent another disk full of bonus content from my Russki friend. Having trouble with it though because the archives are locked down tighter and it's all in Cyrillic. Here's a sample.
