Really, would anyone like complete if it were to be updated with something? I always thought of this. Using the newest ZRP, Argust textures and some other tweaks and fixes, one could make his own version of "Complete", because that's all there is to the mod. If it had a bunch of new weapons with smooth animations on them. No joke. EDIT: The thing is - even if you did remake Complete with its sucessors - would there really be any point to playing it? I understood Complete was largely bugfixes and gameplay tweaks that most people regretted.
Maybe if Complete would actually rework all the semi-broken bits of vanilla(there's not much bad stuff in CoP to begin with) and updated all visuals to, say, a proper 2013 level design, pushing the limits of modern hardware in a proper way(unlike, say Misery) then it'd be a damn good mod. Now it's just a really crappy brand. I mean, I know most people will be all like "But the maps and textures and models are totally fine", yet I still don't really like how most folks focus on getting better textures over often low poly maps and models. Some mods make their own HQ player items but overall there's much to be desired in other aspects.

I did a small bit of work to update Cold Blood's translation so that it can support the new patch, along with translating a bit more text to make it more than just a simple update. Oh my. I found a tactical AK47 in a stash in AA2. This thing has surpassed pretty much every weapon I've come across since. It has such a nice balance of damage/accuracy. one thing that bugs me, though, is how stamina drain seems to be entirely dependant on how much you're carrying. My stamina drains at the same speed regardless of whether my carry weight is 45kg or 60kg (ty tourist's suit.) You'd think that something that was designed to alow you to carry more stuff without reducing your survivability would ensure that you've got a little more mobility. 40kg/45kg draining the same as 40kg/60kg. Even with stacked endurance boosting artifacts I can barely jog for a few seconds.

But still, there's no doubt there's a difference in the posters from MISERY and SC2009. This, being an observation, really does give me the vibe of CoP being the more 'mature' STALKER, where as SHoC attracts newer players to the STALKER series (being the first of the series) I might even get out of my way to fix Complete sometime. People are recommending others to use PRZ2 with Complete, not knowing I'm not using the same texture.ltx as Complete does (for obvious reasons). It uses an outdated texture.ltx file with loads of missing stuff in it (incorrectly assigned bumb / spec, too strong values for the glossy effect on everything etc.) I mean, who would make a dry muddy road as reflective as a mirror anyway? The people doing it are either going through tough times, or seeking attention. Either way they're usually looking for a reaction. If you don't have the patience / mailbox size to go that route - you can always just regularly send him previews of what the Misery texture artists are working on - just to show him how its done. I once had a friend who used to go on and on about how awesome she was at drawing, and she constantly bombarded us with links to her Deviant Art page. One of my other friends got so sick and tired of her - he started drawing really crappy MsPaint pictures and sending them back to her instead of actually replying to her IM's.

I've been sporadically keeping an eye on this thread, but often miss things. How has that translation for that Russian Lost Alpha facsimile come along? Can't really remember the name of it. They are, however, extraordinarily time-consuming and very sensitive to errors. Still worthy of praise if someone's willing to go through all that bullshit for modding, but for different reasons.

I was working on translation for it until a week or so back I saw the news that got posted on the mod's ModDB page which said that the dev team is going to assemble team from a bunch of guys and make an English translation themselves. Nothing new has really popped up now and the representative they have over there on ModDB, VincentVega, hasn't responded to the few who have asked about the translation's status, but he did mention something about a new patch that's in the works and that he doesn't have any free time left for OLR 2.

I think I'll wait for OWR with the new weapons to be released before I continue work on my mod merge. It'll also probably help for me to build my new comp before I start working again too because the fact I can barely run CoP when it has AtmosFear and Absolute Textures is kind of a problem. I feel like merging specific Arsenal mod weapons with OWR to make the perfect weapon pack. I really do love the SR3-m in it. Damn beauty of a gun. Just need to spice the textures up a bit to fit the style of OWR

so it seems like there's a new .dll for CoP that gives more detailed error messages when the game crashes, could be very useful! it's bundled with the new luajit.dll, which also seems to decrease the stuttering caused by on and off-lining the AI
