I was a part of the Latvian ''strong race'' a few weeks back. Shit was hilarious. I got the Stalker ''crawl through mud while swearing'' experience http://thestrongrace.com/en/
I got enough of crawling through the mud in the military
Why do you all have the narrowest selection of mods, jeeze there's like a thousand other mods both translated and untranslated that never get a word around here.
Why do you all have the narrowest selection of mods, jeeze there's like a thousand other mods both translated and untranslated that never get a word around here.
not enough banners for all of them
Whats wrong with a simple bullet pointed list?
Why do you all have the narrowest selection of mods, jeeze there's like a thousand other mods both translated and untranslated that never get a word around here.
If you're talking about the repository then it's obvious that it wont have everything because I'm the only person working on it. Find me those thousands of mods you're talking about and give me links and names. However I don't want to put countless hours into putting up tiny mods, I only want to have the good overhaul mods that change quite a lot in the game. The exception on that list is Atmosfear and Absolute because they're very common mods and I wanted people to find most of what they'd need in one place. The mods also have to be somewhat good too.
Whats wrong with a simple bullet pointed list?
Because most people don't want to look at an ugly wall of text. I want a simple list with most of the great mods for STALKER, not absolutely everything. If someone wants extremely specific mods then they can do the research themselves or ask someone around here.

That's like barely anything, I've not heard a whisper about : Secret Trails 2, Death Defying, Return of Scar, NLC, CS : Reborn, Dead Autumn : Another Reality, Lost World Troops of Doom, Presky, Spectrum Beta, SRP, SGM : Geo, SGM : Eton and Clear Skies. These are just off the top of my head but there's so much but ya'll seem to play so little.
Honey it's all about marketing.
Secret Trails 2's high point was climbing the ladder while looking at Semenov's ascending rubber booty. Can't say I enjoyed most of the mods unmentioned, either.
i remember streaming that, that was funny
Which version of LURK should I use? I've heard negative things about the newer version.
Which version of LURK should I use? I've heard negative things about the newer version.
1.05 is the latest version before the controversial 1.1 that gets slammed by many.
Started playing COP again. Redux crashes like a motherfucker
Started playing COP again. Redux crashes like a motherfucker
It shouldn't do if you're patched properly to 1.05b and started a new game?
It shouldn't do if you're patched properly to 1.05b and started a new game?
I probably have an old version of it, don't feel like starting a new game though :/
Ah, sorry then, you're gonna have to deal :(
I just got SoC and it's great, but I get motion sick after 20 mins so I can't play..
Open console with tilde, type 'cam_inert 0.1', head bob is much less!
Open console with tilde, type 'cam_inert 0.1', head bob is much less!
Thanks!
Open console with tilde, type 'cam_inert 0.1', head bob is much less!
How come I seem to be the only one in the entire world who has had camera inertia at that value by default?
How come I seem to be the only one in the entire world who has had camera inertia at that value by default?
Even when I'm drunk my head doesn't shaking so much. Minimum head bob is more than enough.
SoC
(I have said this many times :P ) I feel SoC missions are too....crude, whereas, CoP missions are more dynamic and have like....like....more variety/events.
(I have said this many times :P ) I feel SoC missions are too....crude, whereas, CoP missions are more dynamic and have like....like....more variety/events.
That's true, but atmosphere is key in SoC.
(I have said this many times :P ) I feel SoC missions are too....crude, whereas, CoP missions are more dynamic and have like....like....more variety/events.
This is one of my biggest reasons why I struggle getting into SoC despite really enjoying the atmosphere I just don't know what to do. The world is open but it's not really like Fallout where I can just go exploring anywhere. The missions are more like "kill a dog somewhere... if you want to... and maybe come back and talk to me or something I guess".
The sidequests in SoC aren't exactly... good. You're not missing much if you don't do them.
What are the commands that affect headbobbing in CoP besides cam_inert?
This is one of my biggest reasons why I struggle getting into SoC despite really enjoying the atmosphere I just don't know what to do.
That's true, but atmosphere is key in SoC.
About that, which places have the best atmos in your opinion? For me, it's Wild Territory. And then, Agroprom.
I just don't know what to do. The world is open but it's not really like Fallout where I can just go exploring anywhere.
Check Wild Territoy and Agroprom, those places have the best exploration/satisfaction "rate" (?). The other ones are Red Forest, but it's like too fucked up to explore (IE: Full of radiation, annoying hallucinations, enemies everywhere, etc) and Dark Valley. Prypiat and NPP are also too fucked up to explore, but with some mods you could explore it without all those problems (Huge anomalies in NPP, im looking at you). Oh, those huge anomalies, they scared the crap out of me the first time I saw them. I was strolling along the asphalt line without being seen and suddenly, out of nowhere, my ears get numbed by a huge zap and my screen becomes all blue and I go like "FUCKINGSHITWHATTHEFUCK"....ah, the good old times.
Cordon is the one for me. Don't know why but I get all excited and scared when standing at the start of the bridge (?) near Rookie Village, hearing wind goes by and distant ambiences. And the cat. "I swear it's around this corner, it must be close!"

Its like there is a interesting place surrounded by emptiness or "filling", and then, another interesting place, repeat and so on. Clear Sky kinda cut with this, and then it came back with CoP (Its extremely evident in CoP, the exception being Prypiat) EDIT: Beacon, I read in the OGSE ModDB page that once they finished with the mod, they would move onto the Clear Sky engine. I asked Yuri-forgothisname why and he answered that Clear Sky was the best X-Ray version, with SoC being the middle and CoP having many features cut out. Is that true? And if true, what would be those "features"?
