That honestly sounds really interesting. Congrats to Yasti and Troj for coming up with such a fresh idea.
I did let the team know of my radiation idea and it looks a bit like it, but even I was surprised about this. Haven't seen discussion about this either, so I'll guess I am going to dive back in MISERY again!
You guys should probably make NV more expensive/rarer if darkness is going to play such a big role.

That's .... a pretty friggin good idea! I'll hand this to the team right away.
You should have seen (or rather heard) some of the earlier builds of LURK 2.
to be fair that was actually daemonion making fun of me

When I say Bronies. I mean hardcore bronies. Who try to convert others to the show, and are obsessed with it, and won't stop talking about it.
And those who watch MLP porn. It's just sad.
Liking and watching the show is fine, same as my argument for Anime, it's just the extremes is when it becomes pretty sad.
I don't think he'd actually give enough dosh to save a stalker who obviously hasn't earned a mad stack of artifacts during his raids and doesn't have all the Zone bling visible on him.
In other news, it seems that the Old Story mod for CS is going to be released either this month or on the first of March.
My father actually responded twice.
The first text was just Haha. The second was "Keep him."

Dude that's awesome!
It's okay, Panzer.
Just tell us which one of the boys is bullying you, we'll sort it out.
I promise.
Sounds very interesting. Weathers affecting world's properties is what I have been waiting for for ages.
Still can't get over how bad that banner looks.
Thats a seriously neat idea.
But.....
Wouldn't rain spread fallout? And how would sunny days increase the background radiation? Surely it should be round the other way - Rain, fog, and mist are radioactive, and sunny clear days aren't.
(wiki)
Snow and rain, especially if they come from considerable heights, accelerate local fallout. Under special meteorological conditions, such as a local rain shower that originates above the radioactive cloud, limited areas of heavy contamination just downwind of a nuclear blast may be formed.
Increased spawns sounds great though. Another reason for me to stop messing about with SGM and go back to Miseri. Now you just need to get rid of the stickfigure animations on all the weapons, and I'll come running back ^-^

Extremity is bad in everything - so generally one should disregard the extremist elements of any group. As for the pony / anime fappers - its my opinon that its better for people to get their rocks off on drawn pictures - than to encourage the exploitation and abuse of real life people through the 'adult' industry.

SGM is full of win.

right now XRAY SDK is bullying me tell it to stop
By the way I've been collating a massive (around 2gb now) dropbox folder full of inspiration/resources/references for art I like, usually modern/scifi/neomodernism/minimalism/grunge/stalkerlike shit. If anyone wants an invite then just PM me.
that's a cool idea, but seems a little OTT to me... I understand that rain etc dampens radiation to the ground, and dryer weather creates dust which makes for more chance of breathing in radioactive particles, but it seems a little extreme to confine NPCs to only going out at night when the disadvantages would be so huge if that were the real situation - I would rather have a little more radiation exposure and actually see things rather than stay inside all day (where you'd still be exposed to radiation anyway, it would get everywhere, even in surge hideouts) and only go out at night when you can't see anything, and the dust from the previous 'sunny day' would still be around anyway
just my 2c
right now XRAY SDK is bullying me tell it to stop
the SDK has been bullying me for over a week, I'm trying to compile a new Zaton build but every time I do, no changes are carried over...
Personally I don't like how the SEVA suit doesn't have complete radiation protection. It's a fucking closed cycle suit, hell, all closed cycle suits should have more than just average rad protection. There's no way anything except direct gamma radiation exposure can penetrate that kind of suit.
Bullets are a different thing, but I feel that the protection suits provide have always been kind of inadequate.
If you aren't using the trench coat, you aren't really playing STALKER. All other suits are nothing in comparison.

Imagine being able to wear trench coat over a Monolith suit.
~Being able to be the most stylish and badass motherfucker in the Zone~
I wish there was a mod where you could make your own faction.
You could micromanage it, acquiring weapons and supplies. Recruit new members or headhunt for members of other factions who aren't happy. Customize gear and faction logos. And fight for territory or make alliances with other factions. You could also have a handful of important NPC's who form the core of your faction (Mission giver, trader, repairman, guide) Just like other factions.
So can anyone who has progressed in OLR 2.0 help me? I'm in X18 and still trying to find the documents.
Apparently all the random science equipment, PDAs and security cameras(?) that I've picked up aren't good enough.
I've heard the documents are at the bottom of the lab but whenever I try to go down there I instantly die from critical radiation?
I've gotta say having your flashlight not working is really annoying in what is essentially a scavenger hunt in a dark lab full of monsters that can pick up the shit you need and throw it about.
You guys should probably make NV more expensive/rarer if darkness is going to play such a big role.
Just so long as the AI is equally affected. Indescribably annoying in games when AI in games can see through practically anything that isn't a brick wall, while I have to turn my monitor brightness to max and game brightness to max.

You have a point. That said, radiation protection in Stalker is abstracted from 2 factors: filtration of radioactive particles, and blocking of gamma rays. The SEVA may well be able to prevent you from breathing in any radioactive particles, but the bodysuit isn't thick enough to block all incoming rays.
6. Major changes to made to the Alife to support the above: regular NPC squads only venture out at nights, and during day remain in secure factional hideouts (locations of some factional bases moved to more secluded places). Well-equipped scientific squads have wider hours of activity,
Plus a comment
This game mode mainly promotes going out during night hours instead of day hours. If you have to go out during the day avoid the midday hours and/or go out during stormy or foggy weather.
On a side note this mode will also benefit the Recon class greatly. I'm not sure if its in the guides but in 2.1 they inherently get similiar bonus's as the ghillie suit does but during the night time hours (it also stacks with ghillie)
Godfuckingdamnit, how do i run away from emission in stalker cop? I get inside a building but it doesnt works
Godfuckingdamnit, how do i run away from emission in stalker cop? I get inside a building but it doesnt works
You need to look on your PDA / Minimap. There's hideouts specifically for emissions. Just going inside any random building wont help you at times
It's also useful to keep in mind that in some mods the emission covers can sometimes stop working and at that point you have to relocate outside of the emission cover radius and then come back inside until it works. For some reason M.S.O. seems to have a bug where Yanov Station decides suddenly it's no longer safe until I run around the building a little to find that sweet spot where it decides to be "blowout cover" again.
I managed to fix the issue I had a page back with my game crashing in Yantar. I had to go all the way back to a hardsave at the bar and trigger the cutscene of the Merc/Eco fight.
After all that, I made a horrible mistake when going in to X18. I didn't stock up on my rifle ammo, and I was still carrying around a RPG.
Thankfully, I managed to fight my way through by rationing 50 buckshot shells for my beautiful Toz. I then tossed my RPG at that fucking Controller and marched out of that place 0.1 KG under my Tourist Suit carrywight. Mr Tunnel Giant trapped me, and my 10 buckshot shells did little despite being aimed at his face, so I ended up knifing him and almost bleeding out. Selling off all of this shit, I'm now struck with a terrible dilema.
SSP-99M or a Seva.
Statistically, the 99M is substantially better; only having 5% less bulletproof cap and 10% less explosion. But it looks fucking terrible.
At this point I am also contemplating how I am going to go through the rest of the game without this Tourist Suit. I can barely hold a rifle and a shotgun with a bit of ammo and some artifacts before reaching 40/45kg. I must acquire Moonlights so I can actually sprint.

What the fuck am I thinking of course I'm going to wrap myself up in that SEVA.
[editline]4th February 2014[/editline]
Loner what the fuck have you done there are pseudodogs everywhere oh god
Hahaha, gotta love AA2 at times.
And I struggle with the Carryweight at times, too.

Very pretty scenery shots in general. Good for promotional use and / or image manipulation. It's not about the actual res of the screen anymore with this (windowed mode, type in the prompt "vid_mode 4096x2160" (or whatever resolution. I've played on 3360x720 lol), hit enter, "vid_restart", enter and screenshot it with SweetFX installed) and it will poop out a 1:1 calculated image of the image resolution, rather than the 1:1 screenshot resolution.
Plus, having 4k ground textures (inc. correct bump + spec) in a 4k screenshot with either .png or .bmp compression, results in a true 1:1 experience, just like seeing 2160p footage on a 2160p monitor. Looking at 2160p on a 1080p monitor may look better than 1080p, but that's just a little placebo effect imho. There's nothing better than 1:1
Why everytime i give Cardan tools i get "zat_b3_stalker_tech_instrument_142"?Also, when i give him all tools i don't get achievement.:|

Some background info? Vanilla? MISERY? SGM? What mods are we talking here?
Sorry i've forgot about this, hehe.
I'm using Pripyat Gameplay Rebalanced.

I've been doing this for ages when playing around with Fraps. It's always nice to take a 5120x3200 photo that is a ridiculous file size
