those 6 minute videos for 30 seconds worth of animations are ridiculous
It's not about the animations but about the features of these new grenades.
lol first time i played stalker, I was like 11 years old... I remember getting to the brain scorcher and like just after I turned it off I saw a dead freedomer exoskeleton on the ground and I recognized his name from the ranking system and he was #1. I like started freaking out that i finally got to meet that guy even though he was dead and like dragged his body around for a few minutes.
Haha, I was also 11 at the time. I still remember how I forced my dad to play the Agroprom underground mission because of the bloodsucker haha
I wish I could forget everything I know and experience stalker over again.

I was so creeped out by the bloodsuckers in the videos I never wanted to leave the rookie camp when I first played.
So is Misery supposed to be this laggy? Last time I played CoP I didn't experience nearly as many microstutters as I am right now and every now and then an area of my screen vibrates like the game's reloading all the textures my character can currently see.

Misery is pretty unoptimized. If you try not to focus on it so much it's fine I think.
So my brother kinda left SoC in a corner before Pripyat cause the Brain Scorcher lab was a maze to the poor guy. So I compelled him to finish that part, and get the true ending.
He didn't regret a second of it.

Yea but it's sort of difficult playing with 60+ frames and experiencing a screen vibration and stutter every 10 steps.
Yea but it's sort of difficult playing with 60+ frames and experiencing a screen vibration and stutter every 10 steps.
It's the prefetching. I tried disabling it but it didn't do shit to stop the stuttering.
2.1's performance is a bit iffy at the moment, not sure what's up there but I'm sure they'll work it out.
Meanwhile, been playing TFW 3.8 with Teh Zip Files fixes, furthering the cause of glorious Duty. At least until I got stuck in Yantar, trapped between a Hind and an emission. Such is life in the zone.
You're doing great things, Fuxed. Glory to Duty, death to the Zone.
I've googled this countless times but I could never get a straight answer.
Is the console in SoC just mostly used as a debugging tool, or can commands be used to give the player weapons, etc? Just curious.
its more for debugging, and if you're cheating in STALKER you're missing the point of the game entirely
Nah, I don't and wouldn't do that.
Thank you, though.

Have you tried that new(ish) luajit.dll? That helped me a lot in misery 2.1.

Helped a surprising amount. Stuttering still occurs when arriving at major population centers, but even that isn't quite as bad.
So, as a Monolith, I cleared the Freedom base within an hour.
I keep crashing in Misery 2.1 at the part where Grouse heads back to Skadovsk to find Danila. I'd post the crash log, but i didn't seem to actually get one, gonna dig around for it.
[editline] no fuck you [/editline] Well i found this bit at the end of the latest log file in _appdata_.
0023:0B690CC3 xrGame.dll, CDialogHolder::CDialogHolder()

MISERY is pretty optimized, but it's the fact that there's so much going on scripting wise (characters coming online, dynamic calculation for quite a few features and other stuff going on, other than the visuals. The team is indeed optimizing the scripts etc. but there's only so much we can do. The newest LUAJIT indeed does help.

That's quite an uncommon bug. Did you reload from a hardsave or quicksave? It's recommended to load the latest hardsave and try to reproduce the bug. If it's persistent, PM me the whole log so I'll post it for you on our dev forums.

DEV NEWS
Since the release of MISERY 2.0 (and thus the premiere of our official website www.Miserymod.Com) the site has now had its unique visitor no. 200,000! This is quite remarkable to be honest and I still remember that day when the expected audience for the MISERY 1.0 mod was below 1,000 people.
Since then the MISERY community has grown day by day and MISERY 2.1 will be released in 4 languages! More full translations are in the making as this is posted. But MISERY 2.1 in English, Russian, polish and French is a certainty and now 99% completed.
A humbly 'Thank you!' from MDT
Cheers!
4 languages?
Wow, that's actually quite a feat. Rarely do STALKER mods have more than English and Russian.
I would have a go at translating mods to Finnish, but my grasp of the language is about as firm as grasping a wet bar of soap in the Atlantic Ocean :/

Hahahahahahahaha :V
I could do it if some team actually wanted it to happen.
I doubt there's THAT big of an amount of Finnish stalkers anyway and they all more or less know English.
Gah, in every Misery playthrough I do, the Sevchenko camp has a lifespan measured in minutes, from the moment I start the game. I quite literally have to rush the Sevchenko defence mission (backstabbing with a sawn-off is not a pleasant experience) unless I never want to be able to do it. If only the morons would just hunker down inside, letting attacking enemies get cut up inside the killzone, rather than every single one of the retards leaving the camp the moment they hear even a tushkano squeak outside. It's a problem i've seen in many mods (especially ones with increased AI detection range and switch distance), but in Misery it seems to be significantly amplified.
[editline]edit[/editline]
In-game class select option in 2.1 beta seems to be buggered, as well.
That kinds of happens in a lot of other M.S.O. based mods too. Though for me personally it's not that big of a deal since I can just do the next mission on the mercs' payroll.
Quite annoyed I can't attach the ZF-4 scope to the starter STG-44 :/
Doesn't seem to be a scope attach upgrade, either.

Misery's ballistics just exacerbate Spartacus' ignoble death.

If whatisface put half as much effort in the mod as in PR material, then it might be worth a damn. One of 15 modders who changed PC gaming? My hairy ballsack; there is no way Complete should be in the same list as Natural Selection, Team Fortress or Mechwarrior Living Legends.
The whole fucking world's against us dude, I swear to god.
I think I shed a tiny tear at this, the Steam forums are bad enough when you see people who are playing Complete on their first run on normal/easy.
