Holy crap you're right.
The knife is the best weapon, hands down.

I've always wondered, is there a limit to how much vodka you can drink? The most I've tried was 12. What happens when you start to drink something like 50 bottles?

Most I've drank in one sitting was 31, which was at the Dark Valley, I think, in the room with 30 bottles just sitting there. I was drunk for a good five minutes. Other than that, nothing really.
You mean...you didn't gain superpowers?
Actually, I think I did. How else can you break a wall with a knife in one hit?
But my friend supposedly drank 90 kilograms worth at once, and all that did was make him die of starvation.

The M14 DMR in Misery is pretty kickass. I found two as a Recon guy in Zaton, first was too damaged to be repaired, but the second was at 30%, so i spent 35K on repair kits to fix it. Immediately after fixing it, i headed out after getting some ammo and the 6X scope upgrade, climbed on top of that pipe next to skadovsk and killed 4 bandits that were way the fuck over by that village that you killed the Chimera in for Gonta.

Got mobbed by about 20 of these fuckers. Best part? They don't show up on the minimap.

That is surprisingly similar to STALKERSOUP's Brain Scorcher.

Is that a Librarian from Metro?
Russian mods particularly are very inclusive. Model from Far Cry? Metro? Some ArmA mod? They don't judge.

Even Misery uses content from Metro, most notably the near death choking sounds are from metro.
The micro-stuttering in xRay doesn't come from the scripts. It comes from reading the disk. Misery 2 has a shit ton of new items and textures. Not much of it is added to the prefetch list (increases loading times and you need lots of GPU RAM) so every time a game object comes online that has textures or meshes not already in memory it will load them. Also every NPC that switches online loads a logic file into memory. The scripts can cause FPS dips but not flat out stuttering (Which is the game stopping entirely for milliseconds at a time).
An easy way to ease the stuttering is to compress the texture folder using a third-party tool. Like what is discussed here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/forum/thread/huuuge-performance-boost

But be sure you use the right settings. Over-compression can result in textures with horrid z-fighting, messed up bump or normal maps, or flat out corrupted colours.
If you read the thread over on the misery forums entitled "Massssive FPs BOOST!" - you'll also find that there's some debate over whether or not X-ray benefits from compressed textures, as it doesn't support texture compression or streaming, so compressing the textures shouldn't have any benefit.

I'm not positive but I think it's the GPU adapter that has to support compressed textures. Direct3D can use compressed textures directly.
Bangalore, developer of Call of Chernobyl compressed all the textures then packed them in .db files (xRay patch files) and squeezed out some good performance boosts. The mod has 256 active squads (2 or 3 NPC per squad) and over 250 smart terrains (at least 3 jobs per smart); it already runs better than Misery, lol. It's nuts. I didn't think it was possible.

At the bar, I jumped over some fence, then strolled around, and came up to this. Luckily I was able to get back in the playable area. Went beyond the Zone.

There's a mod that completely removes all the fences and it surprisingly works really well. Being able to flank big groups of enemies at times is really fun without the fences being in your way.

It also makes the metal plating in underground levels (like agr. undg.) obsolete, so when you go up the stairs you fall down again because it's the same material :v:
Jesus christ the Iron Forest in Misery is host to a whole mutant army. 3 burers, 3 bloodsuckers and about half a dozen civvie zombies. There was that poltergeist faffing about in the back, uninterested in the fight. I had to spend 12k on getting a bunch of Duty newbie stalkers to take me there so they could act as fodder. Once I took out the distracted burers though, the rest fell fairly soon.
Had to shoot the last Duty guy because I accidentally hit one of his at some point in the fight, so once the mutants were dead he started shooting at me :/
Guess it's a Freedom playthrough this time. Hopefully I can find a battle rifle that isn't junk soonish.

I'll try to update the Pripyat Reborn + OWR merge in a bit if it isn't too much trouble.

I'll be on my way with MISERY after 2.1 releases. Development on the merge has been put on hold because we're doing some other stuff that's actually really thrilling
