[QUOTE=LoNer1;43987786][B]Path to the Zone[/B] strikes again! Anamorphic (shader based!) flares and HUD + [B]WATER[/B] reflections! [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/24/23267/ss_codepoet_02-20-14_14-42-23_l08_yantar.jpg[/t] [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/24/23267/ss_codepoet_02-20-14_14-49-20_l08_yantar.jpg[/t] [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/24/23267/ss_codepoet_02-20-14_14-47-25_l08_yantar.jpg[/t] I'd love seeing that in motion. It's likely based upon DS2's shader code, though. Meltac already did this (and it looks very impressive)[/QUOTE] Those double lense distortions are really distracting. Does nobody who does screen overlays realize your two eyes superimpose the images together into one circle? Those water reflections however, look both edible and delicious.
I barely fucking recognized Yantar swamp.
ibuki [editline]20th February 2014[/editline] I've been wanting to replay CoP but the FoV changer doesnt work for me for some reason. Also, am I remembering correctly, or does shocker not work with the steam version of CoP?
Shoker indeed doesn't work with Steam. He told us:"I wont bother with it". Might still do something about it, though, but it's highly unlikely.
As much as this endless stream of amazing media from many mods is deeply enticing, it honestly feels like decades since the last earthshaking release of that sort. It really seems like i'd be dead sooner than these mods get released, so I try to avoid looking for this teaser material.

The ONLY productions I'm personally looking forward to are Gunslinger, Lost Alpha and OGSE. Those really struck me with being generally more 'original' than all the others

Those models and animations look really good. I'm honestly just waiting for Redux 2 and Gunslinger at this point. I might try Misery 2, but I had a lot of issues with Misery 1, like crashes and stuff
Mine list of mods I'm waiting are Gunslinger, Redux 2 and Frozen Zone. Lost Alpha is more of a full game than a mod.
[QUOTE=Hammer7;43988315]Mine list of mods I'm waiting are Gunslinger, Redux 2 and Frozen Zone. Lost Alpha is more of a full game than a mod.[/QUOTE] Damn how'd I forgot about Redux and FZ. Thorny, you should tinker with our memory more. Well, mine :v:
i'm not one to talk when i have nothing to show though :P
[QUOTE=LoNer1;43988036]Shoker indeed doesn't work with Steam. He told us:"I wont bother with it". Might still do something about it, though, but it's highly unlikely.[/QUOTE] Huh. It works well enough with a Steam install after some fiddling. Played around with it last night for a bit after seeing it had full body awareness, which is something I've really pined for in Stalker. It was worth all the dicking around with Yandex but maybe I just got lucky, the games weird like that.
yup FOV changer is still broken for me. =/ [editline]20th February 2014[/editline] oh, I found one that worked! [editline]20th February 2014[/editline] guess I'll try out Misery 2 then
[QUOTE=alundaio;43983560]If only more of the engine was exposed. Manually placing space restrictors for rain splatter is insane. A simple raycast method straight up into the air is all you would need.[/QUOTE] No kidding. Luckily, I'm already placing them into all of the buildings, so we'll see how it goes.

[editline]20th February 2014[/editline] guess I'll try out Misery 2 then[/QUOTE] Make sure to get 2.1, a lot of the bullshit and bugs had been fixed with 2.1, but it's a little bit more unstable(barely, haven't crashed in a week).
Doesn't 2.1 have an FOV changer anyhow? I thought you selected it on install.
[QUOTE=GunFox;43991132]Doesn't 2.1 have an FOV changer anyhow? I thought you selected it on install.[/QUOTE] I noticed this when I was going through the install and download instructions
Shoker does work with steam, you just need to install a CD crack.
Oh sweet merciful god please have mercy on my soul. I have just tried to defend Dawn's HQ at the Military Warehouses in SGM 2.2. I do not think anything could have prepared me for what just happened. I am a very large fan of the mini-nukes that are available through combining two F1 grenades, and have been stockpiling them for a while. I am also a fan of my Bulldog, VSS and PKM. Only my VSS is alive and with me right now. I can't really explain what happened. It was 10 minutes of the most agonizing tooth and nail fighting I have ever had in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I would like to say that there were a hundred boar corpses, scattered within a few dozen snork corpses, with the psuedogiants and burers and more boars than I can shake a stick at, but that would be a vast understatement. What I have just faced off against was the single largest hoard of mutants I have ever seen. Those mini-nukes I stockpiled? I ended up tossing one quite a ways away after seeing the approaching clusterfuck, and I fucking gained 50~ ranks. 50. For one grenade. I should have noticed then what I was in for, but I was seen knee deep on barbed flesh dick and snorks were tearing my military exoskeleton to little bits. I think I burned through about 50 bandages and a shitload of medkits, as well as my stockpile of well over 40 mini-nukes, over 500 rounds for my protecta (which broke after getting invited to a burer party) and, although I can't remember how many bangs I created with my bulldog, I know that it is now located somewhere in the military warehouses after being tugged from my hands and then being at ground zero of a mini-nuke. I don't think there was anybody alive when my VSS got pulled and I was overwhelmed by a psuedogiant and his entourage of snorks. I'd run out of bandages and was quickly bleeding to death thanks to a too-close mini-nuke took out a chimera mid-leap. It didn't help that I ended up quick-drinking a bunch of bottles of vodka because I forgot to remove it from my quick use keys, but it definitely made me more Russian; chugging half a dozen bottles while my exosuit screams and blood pours on to the dozen grasping, clawing limbs that were caressing my person. I wish I knew how many ranks I gained for that. I don't know if I even want to try this again.
As soon as I started that part for the first time in 2.1, realized what I was up against; I quickloaded, stocked up on PKM and RPG ammo, then tried again very successfully. [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] The key is to keep them at bay with as much explosives as you can bring to bear (aren't there placeable mines in SGM as well?), let the Dawn members handle stragglers unless said straggler is a burer or pseudogiant. [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] Noah's Barge is an even worse clusterfuck, though; as the mutants come from all directions in thick foliage. [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] And Noah just says he needs a sniper. Hah, he needs a fucking orbital bombardment to keep them mutants at bay. Speaking of which, are there any other mods with such mutant horde missions, or is it just SGM? I don't quite like the kitchen sink approach it takes, but would love quests that put me against mutant hordes.
[QUOTE=Etcetera;43992546]Shoker does work with steam, you just need to install a CD crack.[/QUOTE] You think I'm joking? Download a cracked .exe and paste it over the original. Worked for me.
[QUOTE=Sgt Doom;43997078]Noah's Barge is an even worse clusterfuck, though; as the mutants come from all directions in thick foliage.[/QUOTE] I think you're confusing the tunnel defense with the one in army warehouses; their actual HQ. Trust me when I say that Noah's Barge hasn't got a single speck of shit on what I just encountered (I don't think it existed in 2.1). Noah's Barge is an absolute cakewalk in comparison. I'm having flashbacks already. I am so proud that I managed to hit a chimera that was mid jump with a mini-nuke. [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] sweet jesus there were so many snorks [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] Like, there's the tunnel that they move in to in Jupiter after you get the artifact there for the Ecologists. You can enter Army Warehouses from Dark Valley, and Dawn have the old Freedom base there. It was like the Zone itself just funneled every mutant in existence at me. I can't even describe how many mutants there were. May the Monolith have mercy on my soul.
Noah's barge was fucking annoying because the AI seemed to lose all sense of self preservation. At one point I had them all run right up in the face of a chimera without even trying to shoot it.
Just heard my first cheeki breeki by some bandits who was passing by Skadovsk

Holy shit Clear Sky is such a pain in the ass. So the game crashes when I get near the Duty base in Agropom. What the fuck is wrong now [quote]FATAL ERROR [error]Expression : fatal error [error]Function : CInifile::r_section [error]File : E:\priquel\sources\engine\xrCore\Xr_ini.cpp [error]Line : 443 [error]Description : <no expression> [error]Arguments : Can't open section 'dolg_scientific_outfit'[/quote] Goddamn outfit Nvm, fixed it
oh man DCTB you're making me want to play SGM again. The mutant defense missions are so fucking nuts, I'm glad SGM lets you upgrade the double-barrel shotgun and the Kar98 you can buy from Dawn to the point where they oneshot almost everything.

So many fucking mutants.
The barge mission was extra awful because that one guy in the exosuit kept running out and getting chimera'd, which makes you fail the mission.
Without our David, we cannot survive!
All this talk of SGM 2.2 makes me want to play it again. I was one of those weird people who actually loved the mutant swarm missions. I thought they were really fun.
