Hah, reminds of playing SGM last night. I did the usual "hibernate and collect bank interest for about a week" tactic, then emerged from Yanov's basement to do the night snipers mission for the trader. I got to the part where you chase the remaining bandit over to the train tunnel that has the burers in it.
Little did I know that during my week-long sleep, the Zone was still spawning mutants. The bandit and I were greeted at the tunnel by no fewer than seven bloodsuckers. Let's just say it was a good time to have a Protecta at my side.

Seano12's Slavshit challenge run:
-Can only use USSR firearms
-Can't upgrade suits to raise carrying capacity
-Can only eat rations
-Can only save the game inside safe areas at 0600 when near a bed. Can only load from these saves.
-Every time you find a loner STALKER's body you have to crouch, say a prayer outloud, drink a bottle of vodka in game and take a shot of vodka in real life.
-Every time you visit the repair man who looks like Putin you have to kiss your screen where his face is located
-Must kill every freedom faction member you encounter
-Must kill every bandit you encounter
-You cannot stash your loot inside safe areas but in separate stashes anywhere in the game world
-No more than 3 medkits and 5 bandages can be in your inventory
-Before you leave any safe zone you must be carrying at least 5 bottles of vodka
-Wizard difficulty or the hardest difficulty possible.

That freaking spiral staircase, I swear I quicksaved in AA2 more than any other game. Also that military base at midnight is a terror, took me quite a few tries to make it through that mess, but overall I love this mod.

-No suit. True slavs need only a sweater for protection.
-Eat like a real slav: you can eat whatever you want, but you must consume one bottle of vodka for every food item consumed
-Medicine is for pussies: no medkits. Stop that bleeding with a bandage and either wait it out, or eat (and drink, remember) your way to health. Radiation must be removed with vodka, of course.
-Obviously, AK and Makarov variants only.
-Taste for danger: You must climb anything that is tall and climbable, and take a screenshot once you reach the top.
-Kill bandits. Kill Freedom anarchists. Kill Merc capitalist scum.
-Drugs are allowed, but you must chase them with vodka.
And remember: if at any point in this run you are not under the influence of alcohol, you are doing it wrong.

This makes me wonder, are there any CoP mods with actual stealth? A run like that would really lend itself to creeping on a cyka and stabbing them/shooting them with your glorious silent PB.

Should be default to F6 or F5 but just go to the options menu.
I couldn't seem to find it in the options menu but I'll try what you those fn keys.
What kind of stuff does the FP starter pack do? Will any compatibility issues happen with my saves? I played STALKER for a bit a few years ago but never completed it despite the how hyped I was about it. Technically speaking this is my first playthrough. I want to have a natural experience but if the starter pack enhances it without changing it that seems good.

Got bored, did papercraft
first contact with alpha squads today. Of course, really early in my playthrough compared to where i am now, but it was interesting. I had just cleaned out the merc station in zaton and was full of loot, about to leave when i see 6 hostile targets in the distance. mind you, it was night, and i wasn't able to see what they looked like, but it was obvious they weren't fucking around, and had good gear. I had my shit pushed in, oh, 3, 4 times before i came up with a working tactic to fall back to the station and pick them off my my AN-94 M2 as they came through the fence perimeter.
Then a second alpha squad showed up.
It was more tedious than dangerous, really. nobody ever got close enough to cause me real harm, not before they could catch two 5.45 through the eyes first. Made it through pretty easily, made good money off what they all had.
I've made it up to after you [sp]free the captured USS prisoner[/sp], and i've acquired a SEVA suit and a mossberg "destroyer", stuck with the AN-94 M2 because i just can't beat that things accuracy, especially since i havent found a single tool set.

Shame you can't get those rounds outside of the russian military, i wanted to buy a box for my collection of guns and gun related objects.
