heck yes doom's mod merge works for me now. eggheads shall rule the day [editline]10th March[/editline] ecologists are legitimately the most underrated faction
Huh, apparently TB's NS got updated and now has a shitload of new areas and content since I last played it. Requires a new game too. HERE WE GO [editline]10th March 2014[/editline]
heck yes doom's mod merge works for me now. eggheads shall rule the day [editline]10th March[/editline] ecologists are legitimately the most underrated faction
Ecologists/Loners/ are my #1 factionfus (ignoring the Holy Monolith). Followed by Mercs/Duty.
I am, yet I wouldn't know your problem. It's probably a few pages back, but PM me, we'll figure it out. Also, Cookie, you're missing a piece of config for a suit that's called 'bandit_master_outfit'. Try going into gamedata\config\misc\outfit.ltx and search multiple times for the keyword "bandit". If nothing comes up other than bandit_outfit or what it's called, it means you're either using an older version of the script or if you merged something into the mod, screwed it up :v:
The thing is at the moment, there is no mod. It's vanilla stalker so there's no gamedata folder or anything. It's a fresh install which is why I don't understand why it's giving me that message. What I've done is delete the old stalker with the mod, re-downloaded stalker, and launched it (without installing any mods) and it just crashes while giving me that error.

Could be stuff was left over in the folder. If you didn't manually delete the directory but did a uninstall it could have left .db files in the patches folder from a mod or something. Take a look at your fsgame.ltx in the main directory. It could be pointing to a gamedata folder you don't realize, like in your documents and not in main directory.

I haven't even gotten past the electric tunnel in Cordon and crazy shit is going on everywhere. Mercs and military fights. Loners going out, the Cordon outpost is constantly attacking Loner Town. Everywhere I go I hear explosions and gunshots. Only 6 ingame hours have past and I already have an LR 300 and Merc Suit as well as 25K rubles.
TB's NS?
TechnoBacons Stalkersoup. Loners going out, the Cordon outpost is constantly attacking Loner Town.
I think this is due at least in part to Jamie's faction wars but I honestly don't know. Definitely my favourite aspect of the mod though; so far I've witnessed a loner/duty/ecologist taskforce systematically sweep across Cordon, a half hour Monolith vs bandit firefight in the Garbage rail station which was ended by Rambo the ecologist with his G3 and some huge merc assaults on the bar.
Come again? [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/13/12990/Untitled-5.jpg[/t]
Millenia makes the best CG gun porn. Honestly.
Well the faction war mod is pretty cool, and I believe the last time I played it was when it was in the 2.xx version range. I found it pretty fun at the time, maybe not as challenging as it could have been with the opposing faction's ai, but I enjoyed it. [editline]9th March 2014[/editline] Has anyone played AMK devolution for cop? If so what did you think of it?
I have. It was okay. Just felt a bit...empty so to speak. Not that much new content for it all.

The fsgame.ltx only points to the stalker-shoc folder which I also made sure to delete before installing fresh. No matter what I do it gives me that stupid "[error]Arguments : Can't open section 'bandit_master_outfit'" problem. I'll try digging up my physical copy of Stalker and see if I get the same problem with it as well.
Here is probably your best shot.
I'm seeing a mod for CoP called "World of War", but I can't find anything about it on the net. Does it add faction wars by any chance? That would be nice for CoP
You know, I've been thinking; What if you could merge any mod you'd like with a so called 'Merging Tool'. (I know, it's manually possible and takes a lot of time, but lets keep all the technical stuff out of this discussion) Think of it like this ... You have a bole and you want to make pancakes. Any kind of ingredient resembles your preferred mods, and the pancakes your final 'goal' or perfected mod. What would you throw into the bole? I think I'd take LURK's arsenal (TOP NOTCH WEAPONS). I'd then merge this with SWTC: SHoC, because of the amazingly beautiful landscapes. I'd then pair this with IRRADIATION's lighting, PRZ2's texture work, PPx' particle work and the icing on the cake would be LA, for the huge open landscapes, enhanced with a new storyline, perfected weapons, beautiful graphics and enormous levels. Damn. What a mod that'd be. I think that would double the amount of fun I already have in STALKER. It's been 7 years now, guys, yet we're all still here (not counting the rooks under us). I mean, which game, after 7 years, is still considered this good? BF2, C&C / C&C:Zero Hour and Age Of Mythology come to mind, but that's it. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is by far the game that makes someone's dream come true, with the right team, mindset and time. Damn I'm grateful for this game [editline]10th March 2014[/editline] Also, have yourself the final AUG A1 render. I hope I'll be able to link the in-game version, soon. This really looks like ... no, this really is AAA content. [t]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/13/12990/55250-1-1394422106.jpg[/t]
Dat barrel.
I have. It was okay. Just felt a bit...empty so to speak. Not that much new content for it all.
Super lame as I was expecting something with AMK in the title to quite exciting. Didn't they actually abandon the mod or something?
Super lame as I was expecting something with AMK in the title to quite exciting.
AMK's really most prominent features for SoC were sleeping, NPCs being able to loot stuff and heal themselves and blowouts that can happen randomly and artifact transmutation / activation, and restoration of cut mutants most of those features being in CoP by default already. So yeah, AMK's pretty cool mod for SoC but what it mostly does is restore old, cut features which results in a fairly vanilla game experience overall. AMK 2.0 Devolution got Predbannik as a new level and it's actually a pretty cool level aside from some terrible spawning issues (the mercs at a certain checkpoint can spawn on you while the player is present, etcetera.) though so if you'd like to check that level out, AMK Devolution is probably your best bet unless you want to download a mod like 'Soup to do just that. [editline]herp[/editline]
AMK is a really great stepping stone from vanilla, at least it was for me.
Ye, it's a big game changer for SoC but what I mean is that much of the main features in it were in the other games later as default. Actually, I think I've read somewhere that the devs stated that the mod team that developed AMK inspired them to re-implement things like sleeping and NPCs looting corpses back into CoP.

AMK is a really great stepping stone from vanilla, at least it was for me. The unrestricted a-life meant awesome things like hiding out in the Garbage train depot for a whole day because I saw a bloodsucker lurking outside :v: and the blowouts really added a sense of danger to every raid. It doesn't have a huge feature list, but AMK really does change the experience in a big way.

Yeah, fun times.
Did anybody else had the "Whoah" sensation when playing for the first time OL or AMK? Good times, when a couple of new textures and 2 or 3 shitty weapons could make a stalker a whole new experience. Then....then the fucking russian wizards came and changed the world.

So...on Techno's Stalker Soup. I'm stuck. I went to Pripyat. BUT I can't go into Radar cause I die from Psi. And I can't go via Old Village to Limasnk cause it crashes with missing music files. And I really can't be fucked to search and tear open there Database files to replace one file.

And you read that on the Moddb page, where he announced that he would teach the other 2 guys the knacks of the job a bit, as his appearance would become less over the months because of the jobs he took.
Actually. nevermind. I know a way around it.
I'm probably really late with this, but I was trying out Misery 2.1 earlier and ended up going -184 rubbles because I was going to die of radiation in 15 seconds and had the doc fix my radiation. I got the wealthy client achievement because of it.
Actually. nevermind. I know a way around it.
You know, when dealing with missing sound/music errors, you can literally rename any of the other music files to the missing one and solve your problem. X-Ray dependencies are weird.

So I went through Pripyat, into Zaton and back down to Cordon, all the way back to Radar, and into the Military labs instead.
Now that is a sentence with a lot of implied wizardry in it, if you know which games those maps normally belong to.
Now that is a sentence with a lot of implied wizardry in it, if you know which games those maps normally belong to.
Sadly, I took the wrong changer as the PDA's don't work underground in the labs, and I ended up back in Yantar. And it's a crash fest there. :suicide:
