S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series Megathread: The Zone will stop the Russians

SGM progression is sort of like Dark Souls, if you know what to look for you can be OP pretty quickly, but it's easy to miss a lot of things. Also, there's literally 0 english-language guides to the mod, so have fun! :v:

Seriously though, this mod has so many things hidden away, it makes exploring the Zone rewarding again because suddenly you're searching every corner of every building for stashes/other special loot. I love it.
I guess once I'm done with the shit storm of crazy that is LEGENDARY I'll give SGM a try.
Sweet. Everything you need for SGM 2.1 is on David.me's MEGA page.
Was there ever a mod that let you kill Sidorovich? I know killing people like Barman crashed the game but I don't think I've ever played one where you could pop Sid immediately.
I believe in some sort of Russian mod (possibly some version of NS) you could assist the avengers and kill Sid (not immediately, of course)

Goddamn, that is a VERY Russian screenshot.
Cheeki level overload.
Wild Territory earned its name in Legendary today.
Psuedo giant, rat horde and 4 burers spawned after the most insane emission I've been in. They blocked my path to the bar after I came back from Yantar and I had no healing items.
Had to activate artifacts, make headshots only and generally jump like a gazelle to avoid fire/mutants alike.
Cordon is the wild territory in my copy. Now let me explain.
After coming across a pile of dead bodies belonging to the mercenary, Military, Duty, Bandit, and Loner faction by the small outpost building leading from the Cordon to the Garbage I summarily took my time to loot what was appropriate and head back to Sidorovich to collect my well deserved rubles.
Coming up to the farm an exoskeleton with a sniper, and his two buddies were harassing the bridge-toll military men. Cool! Slipping by I went to the car park. The group of ecologists and their Duty escort were all fine and dandy, and the group of loners by the fire in the South building were drinking vodka and playing a mean guitar riff.
Then the emission came. I panicked, having 75kgs of guns and loot on my back I wasn't sure where to go. (I had never experienced an emission in the car park before). Hastily, following the others I ran and smushed myself into the tightest corner with the others and watched in horror as an exoskeleton near by was too late. Ripped apart by the barrage of that fateful radiation storm I shed a tear, realizing I would never be able to loot that really nice rifle he was carrying.
But like all things, the emission subsided and I went on my merry way. Then snorks appears. A lot of them. Gunning them down I had wasted all of my ammo, and cursed. As I slowly approached loner town something was off. Gunfire, a lot of it. Was the military attacking? Impossible, we killed everyone in the Southern outpost yesterday. Climbing on top of a near by hill and gazing down I saw the true horror. Massive herds of mutants! Blood suckers, snorks, chimeras, tushkanos, and a pseudogiant! Oh my!
Walking down the dirt road, while poor rookies screamed out for mercy, the tougher men just barely holding on, and in the far distance I saw Wolf's head crushed, his brains smearing onto the soil below I smiled like a mad man. Tipping my gas mask to the surviving loners still fighting frantically for their lives I happily said "Such is life in the Zone!" and walked past the shit storm to collect 22000 rubles worth of loot.

RIP Wolf. He was a good stalker... Let's drink to him once more!
What's new?
And so I decided to buy ShOC on steam because I felt like reinstalling it and my physical copy has been long lost.
Any advices on huge ass mods worth playing? What about TB's Stalkersoup mentioned a few pages ago - is it any good? I can't see any features listed anywhere, only the fact that there's like, all the locations one could ask for.

Stalkersoup is a bitch to install, but it apparently has a little of everything. Only other mod i have played that is worth the trouble would be OGSE. Another good mod that many people here like is Autumn Aurora 2.

My wolf in ZoA died in a campfire-barrel in the military warehouses where master and scarecrow hang out
Such is life in the Zone.

My wolf is chilling in the bar.
Cone. I'm no wizard but crash-on-load can be caused by running out of memory. Another reason why noprefetch is your greatest friend.
Also good idea to use LAA exes or my patched exes which include LAA + nocd crack for every version of STALKER I could possibly find.
I've started a play through of CoP with SGM 2.1 and I wanted to know what the spare parts box does and how to use the stalker backpack.

Spare parts can give you a discount on repairs and some other cool stuff I still don't know off :v:
Stalkersoup is a bitch to install
Doesn't seem like that... just requires buttloads of free space. Back-uping the entire fucking game and then some. Autumn Aurora I've already checked on modDB, doesn't seem like doing too much. Some new guns, atmosfear... are there any Alife changes?
Doesn't seem like that... just requires buttloads of free space. Back-uping the entire fucking game and then some.
Yeah it's crazy easy to install. It's just time consuming due to the sheer space it requires to install and the very much suggested backup of the default Database files as you mentioned yourself.
Well the installation is complete, guess no going back now. Everything seems to run fine as far as the loading and entering new game... Good luck to me.

Autumn Aurora 2 basically has vanilla A-Life.
Vandreder had enough of everyone's shit. Lol @ the page http://www.moddb.com/mods/autumn-aurora-compilation-mod/

Just try and stay out Yantar as much as you can. It's a crash fest every 10 steps for me. Might be different for you, I was doing Collector mode.
So I feel like an idiot for asking this but I searched Google to no avail, my time settings in clear sky are beyond confusing, I'm watching the sun rise then set in less than 30 seconds and the day/night cycle seems to be on overdrive whilst everything else is normal. Any console commands the reset to the default time settings?

I started the normal playthrough. For once the inventory interface didn't try to make me puke. So far so good, down with the cave though, fuck it. Why soups insist on having this garbage. Crashes every so often, but I've read that a lot of people suffer this on Cordon.
Survived my first blowout... well, barely. Stalkans occupied the hideouts in the village and blocked the entrances, those dicks.

Which means no a-life. No one merged it with something decent in that department?
Any console commands the reset to the default time settings?
You could try to use Ceano's Speed Up Time mod for Clear Sky which should allow you to set the in-game clock to it's default speed as well.
Which means no a-life. No one merged it with something decent in that department?
There was one enterprising member here who entertained the idea of merging Autumn Aurora 2's graphics with Doom's Mod Merge but he's banned now and I don't think he had even made any mod merges so at the moment, there's really nothing of the sort.
As I've understood it though, Autumn Aurora 1 could be merged with other mods relatively easily as it was mainly a texture mod. Honestly, you'll probably be better off just waiting for L.U.R.K. 1.2.
Aslong as they fix the Vaseline lense maybe.

Not sure about the rucksack. Try using it, try dropping it... if that doesn't work I don't know what will.
As for the spare parts, that's simple. Loot pretty much every weapon/piece of armour you find, and stick them in the spare parts safe at the relevant mechanic. They will, as Loner says, give you a considerable discount on upgrades (though they're consumed in the process). Additionally, once you hit 80 spare parts with a specific mechanic (all at the same time, so ideally don't get any upgrades until you get to 80) you'll unlock an SGM achievement (viewable in the SGM PDA) that gives you a permanent and significant discount with that mech.

On one hand I feel his pain, but on the other, I think if he'd made the warning more visible in the first place he'd be less frustrated.

I don't think the warning could be any clearer before the big red circle. It's straight above the FAQ, and on the main page of the mod.
But, there are a hell of a lot of people out there that are babbys that don't even read a readme.
