No, 42.
Is there a Mod which adds fast travel points to SOC, like the ones in CS and CoP

There's the infamous Complete 2009 that adds basically teleportation through the main menu but you'd be better off just learning to manage your stamina and inventory. It's much more rewarding to learn how to move quickly through the maps than just pressing a button and being done with a place.
Set shrapnel extremely high and watch your framerate drop. I remember in my modded build I set shrapnel really high but individual damage lower and increased particle physics. So all explosions had expensive raytracing and ballistic shit flying everywhere. Was cool.
yeah but which shrapnel should i set it for?
the RPG7's ammo isn't in the ammo file but the rest of the grenades are (launched and thrown). also it seems as though the grenade launcher and RPG have separate stats for their launched explosives from the ones in the ammo file.
so basically you have an ammo file with stats for the vog-nade and the nato launcher's grenade. but you also have weapons in their own file that have the same explosive stats for the same weapons/ammo as well.
do i edit the variables in the rocket/grenade launcher's file, or in the ammo file, or both?
Alright, since I remember someone distinctly talking about STALKER: The Roguelike as a concept, I am actually wondering how do people imagine it, in comparison to other roguelikes:
> Do want randomly generated levels? Do we want levels based closely on the combinations from STALKER games? Perhaps the area themes will always be set, but the dungeons/buildings/terrain will constantly change?
> 2D or 3D? As in, the importance Y height value.
> Random stats for special weapons? Random characters? Or just randomness for X-Life?
> Should it actually have the storyline copying the STALKER games? Or just be a free play?
> Content - should it consists of original STALKER features, or be improved and augmented upon (more items/weapons/anomalies/enemies)?
> How would gunplay work? System based upon the cover mechanics? Or perhaps there would be even more RPG elements previously lost?
Basically, if you can come up with a paragraph on how the game should be, make a summary.
2d, new story/freeplay, expanded stalker lore
I just finished Shadow of Chernobyl and i really enjoyed it, going to play Call of Pripyat next
Is the ending with the 'secret wish' the only ending?

There are multiple endings, depending on reputation and if you have over 50k rubles. But I HIGHLY suggest that you [sp]don't go to the wish granter and follow through on the other objective to further infiltrate the heart of the CNNP.[/sp]
do i edit the variables in the rocket/grenade launcher's file, or in the ammo file, or both?
The ammo file controls how the explosives explode, the rocket/grenade launcher files control how to propel the ammo. So basically you'd want to edit the ammo if you want to make the explosion stronger/weaker etc and the launcher files if you want to increase the firing range/magazine size etc
playing about half way through call of pripyat
see tip number 60
"you can have two primary weapons in both weapon slots"
Damnit, I wish I knew this sooner.
Real men carry a pistol regardless. Too bad Stalker doesn't have a revolver. I mean the weapons are really big and cumbersome, better to stock up on a easy to carry and use sidearm!

Some of those tips are, like,full-retard, while some others actually help, like that one.
It's good to be back. I missed you guys.
So much that I just realised I haven't played CoP since I got banned.
I should probably do that.
oh shit it's the pandoras box
No silly, it's Regorc's Chest. Can't you read? Haaave you been spending too much time in the anomaly fiiieelds?
Silly Paravin.
But don't open it.
Please God never, ever open it.
Pandora ain't got shit on me.
There's bloodsuckers and naked Sidorovich and... all the stories you ever have, will, or were even thinking of writing.
-Incoming rookie questions-
Just got SoC, it's fun but I keep dying. I'm really confused because I have no idea who are my friends, who is neutral, who I can and can't attack and the PDA seems pretty unorganized. Plus I don't understand artifacts, anomalies, or factions. Is there any fast travel or do I have to sprint back through zones to get back to the trader?
If you're playing vanilla SoC then have a quick glance at your mini map or use your binoculars to determine if they're friendly, neutral or hostile towards you.
Green = Friendly
Orange = Neutral
Red = Hostile
As for the trader (Sidorovich with unlimited $$) then yes but if you talk to neutral or friendly units you can unload your crap off onto them if they have enough Roubles or whatever the currency is.

Generally if they have dark black on or military camo they're bad guys. Just look at your minimap, red dots = bad guys. PDA doesn't really seem unorganized to me. Neutral people are most people you come across (grey or orange, can't remember), and friends are generally people you heal or are forced by quests. Be sure to use cover in combat. Artifacts are little random pieces of shit you'll find laying in the open, generally near an anomaly. Use your bolts to find exactly where the anomaly is to avoid it so you can pick it up. Artifacts give little boosts that are useful like reducing radiation absorbed, reducing bullet damage or melee damage taken, or can increase times that you can run, or help clot up wounds faster. Fast travel doesn't really exist in SoC so you have to sprint back through zones to get to traders, but remember there are more traders later on in the game but you can also sell to random people.
Best way to figure out who your enemies are: they're shooting at you
one last question.
what controls the damage dealt by weapons? the stats in each individual weapons file or the stats for bullets in the ammo file? and which variables control damage?
and does changing the weapon's caliber with a technician change the weapon's damage?
I'm looking for a weapons pack too. i'd like a UMP at least that uses .45 rounds at least and possibly more new weapons. as well as a reskin for the FN2000, cause it looks ugly right now.
one last question.
if i wanted to make pistols more powerful do i edit just their ammo stats? or do i edit the weapons stats files as well? what variables do i change?
I'm playing redux and i'd like for the desert eagle to be a one hit killer in general but its damage is less than an assault rifle. also anything chambered in anything less than .45 is pretty much useless.
i'd like to make all pistols more powerful. as it stands all 9mm pistols are peashooters. also i'd like to know if changing the caliber of my makarov to 9x19 increased damage or did anything to the stats of the weapon.

Just increasing hit_power in the weapons configs will increase their damage. And/or you can edit ammo's damage multiplier in weapons.ltx by modifying k_hit.
To oversimplify: damage is calculated by multiplying the hit_power of the weapon with the k_hit of the ammo.
Modifying your Makarov to 9x19 as far as I know didn't increase damage - at least, that's the case in vanilla. It may be different in Redux.
As for an FN2000 reskin, check out FPS Banana, they have some good stuff. The UMP might be harder - there are some models floating around, but they're not very good and adding new models can be surprisingly complicated. If you just want an SMG chambered in .45 you can either re-add Cutter or find the config for Thrifty (unique MP5 sold by Nimble) and change ammo_class to the relevant .45 ammo types.
nice, thanks.
it's too bad it's hard to add quality weapons into this game... there are so many guns that should be in the zone that aren't.
was bored and made a thing

Always found it a bit annoying in the first quest in SOC that you could sneak all the way to nimble just killing one guard, but he wouldn't talk to you until you kill everyone in the area. Would've been cool if you could sneak him out.
