I find it amusing that we're all salivating over a mod that makes guns not work well.
Well, if you ask me, one thing that can make a game feel new is improved models, animations and sounds for weapons, even if statistically they're exactly the same. It's what kept CS:S so fresh for me over the years.

Plus Etc. like the others already said, the mod makes gunplay very, very satisfactory. You're more immersed into the game because they're replacing all 'pop up notifications' with actual animations.

This + Redux = best game
Pulling the charging handle back looks rather odd; I was trained to tilt the gun so the charging handle is facing upwards then pull it back; and I imagine it holds true for all AK-style guns and similar ones with the handle on the right. Doing from underneath means you might catch something on the mag, and you can't as easily apply as much force to it.
Other than that minor thing, an amazing looking gun.

This reloading process is something special forces like to do, since it keeps the muzzle trained towards target. Probably to reflect the VAL's purpose. Their mags are also shorter than AKs

That's supposed to be the idea anyway, but I saw it in a video once where an ex-spetznas soldier demonstrates the process, he ejects the empty magazine with the fresh one. I'll see if I can find it
Eh, we did all the reloading with the left hand; was always taught to keep the right hand by the trigger. That AK reloading looks sort of overly show-offy, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, but it's made for gun-porn anyways. And I don't think that animation was meant for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. anyway, it seemed like it was made for Counter-Strike which has traditionally been a little more "arcade-y" with it's depiction of firearms despite being one of the first "realistic weapons" FPS games.
God damnit clear sky, I can no longer play in DX10 because now my game gets a black screen for 40-50 seconds before actually doing what it's supposed to do (it happens when loading the game up, when loading a save, when changing controls, etc.)
I mean I know it doesn't change[I] that much[/I] but i really want wet surfaces, and the sun rays in DX9 are kinda worse looking. Plus i got a 770 now so it runs great, but I just can't stand those hiccups.

I liked mag-checking since Condemned used it. Well, since the second one used it. The first game was terrible and didn't have a bear either.

Fuck you say? Condemned 1 is way better than 2 in every way. Condemned 2 is pretty good too but 1 is still way better.
Hey guys. Been playing PGR for CoP but I keep crashing at the plateau chopper. For some reason the game is calling for the model actors\stalker_merc\stalker_merc2c_mask.ogf but it's not in my gamedata folder. Going through the 7zip archive gets me nothing either.

Arguments : Can't find model file 'actors\stalker_merc\stalker_merc2c_mask.ogf'.
I even downloaded the Variation Mod and sifted through those files to find the .ogf but to no avail. Would there be anyway to edit the ModelPool.ccp to change it to another model?
