A fucking Bloodsucker. Scared the living shit outa me.
Knife + Hit = Fuck you bloodsucker
Well, this is certainly fucking bullshit. CoP M.S.O.+AtmosFear 3 keeps killing me during the Evacuation mission since for some reason the game decides that the room where the game locks you in during the scripted Blowout sequence isn't blowout cover and I have no anabiotics at hand. Would anyone happen to know if changing the immunities of "actor.ltx" in a way that Degty wouldn't take any psy-damage help me survive the emission ?
[editline]herp[/editline]
Well, apparently that helped.

There is a god mode setting for surges in AF3 config. I think it can be set manually through the default parameters ltx

Call of Chernobyl? What the fuck is call of Chernob-
26 maps from all the games.
Holy shit. It is amazing.
Are there any mods like Gunslinger already out there? Like, just something that replaces all viewmodels with better looking and better animated versions?

And now Noah's somehow managed to die, found only his SPAS-12 left. Can't seem to keep any of these dumb fuckers alive long enough to do their quests in Misery :/
Wouldn't be surprised if one day Beard wanders out of the Skadovsk to hunt a fucking rat and dies in an emission or gunfight.
The only reason Beard is in Skadovsk is because the rest of the Zone petitioned to keep him locked up so he'd stop kicking so much of their collective asses at what they do. They're containing Beard, not because he doesn't want to go outside.

When I look at Beard I get Beard-envy
Something you get when you realise how much you would like that beard, but you'll never grow one to that extent.

Gunslinger is IMHO in a whole other league when it comes to an overall view of what has been done to the game. OWR2 in it's own adds a vast majority of guns to the game as replacing vanilla ones, while Gunslinger incorporates not only newly added guns with sublime animations, but also animations for stuff that was supposed to be in the games already as well as new ones.
Sure they can be compared but if I'd be able to choose between Gunslinger, OWR, Arsenal or Shoker, my pick would obviously be Gunslinger above all the others :v:
Also, this is my opinion and no I'm not biased even though I'm part of the Gunslinger team

Except that, you know, Gunslinger isn't actually out yet and that OWR is.
Man, Lost World: Origin really has been a pretty fun ride for me so far.
When I began the game, I started off as a rookie grunt who apparently had recently arrived at Cordon right near the army checkpoint. LWO changes a bunch of maps so I wound up in the Cordon which could be found in the old builds, in this case it was the one from 1935. Soon I got a mission to take a look at what had happened with a squad of ecologists and some soldiers who got mixed in with the bunch. I also had to take one soldier along with me. Not a lot of time had passed when we made it near a small "swamp", only for me to see how my companion decided to stop shooting bypassing fleshes all out of a sudden and run into an anomaly and die. So my faction relations got changed and I turned into a loner, which is apparently a part of the storyline and it makes it so that I cannot just go back to the military guys back at the checkpoint. I turned around and went to Sid's bunker to find out what to do next.
He told me to clean up the factory's area (that is, approximately at the place where the car park in vanilla SoC used to be at) from bandits and to grab a rare artifact for him. I snuck into the small factory, sat atop of the third floor and began to pellet those delinquents with a Makarov. It didn't even take far too long until all of them were dead and I was able to obtain a TOZ-34 and a nearly broken AKS-74U, along with the artifact which Sidorovich really wanted. I went back to that fat bastard's place and gave him what he was looking for, bought a new AK which at least wasn't beaten to junk and some extra supplies. Then Sid gave me a task to go to Agroprom and find out what has been going on there, you know, the usual "grab these documents" stuff.
Skipping a bit of travel related things, I made it to Agroprom and went underground after eliminating a highly ranked military person who had went insane and made his comrades run away. And boy, I was not fully ready for the Underground section. It was full with burers and a bloodsucker or two thrown into the mix. The level also was different from vanilla's and upon climbing into Strelok's stash's place I found out that the door, which was just a door and nothing else in vanilla, led to another part of the location. Read: more mutants and the documents which Sid sought after. My flashlight ran low on power, but luckily enough I had bought some batteries and replaced them, thus making the flashlight shine brightly again. Kind of a cool feature. I dragged myself out of the quiet place after bombing a controller to the moon with the help of a well placed grenade and legged it back to Cordon to give the documents to the trader. Then he told me to get going to the Bar and give them to Barkeep, a.k.a. the usual vanilla stuff.
Skipping more travel info, I arrived at the Bar more or less intact (and with the rookie companion who I hired dead simply because he decided to be a bit too much of a hotshot and take potshots at a bandit and traveling mutants in the Garbage). Barkeep gave me some cash and tasked me with going to X-18 to grab the documents. I bought a little bit of ammo and some more supplies; Barkeep didn't want to buy my mutant parts which I had dragged along with me so I stashed them and had to deal with what I had since I was still rather low on supplies and couldn't afford to buy a suit better than my torn jacket. I met up with Fang and we agreed to hunt a bloodsucker so that the path to Yantar could be clear from that blood sucking bastard. The area where the Bar is at is actually just "Rostok" here and is like Wild Territory and Bar mixed into one whole. Me and Fang had to go to the WT's part of the area where Hunter's rifle used to be at in vanilla. It turned out that there were two bloodsuckers, so I let Fang act as bait for a short while because he managed to shoot me in the ass while I was chasing a lone dog with my knife because why not. Well, he stayed alive and didn't feel like saying a thing about it, so I got my cash and we parted ways. Another quick restock on supplies and I was off to Yantar to meet the scientists.
Yantar was like the old, large Yantar from the old builds, but the dried up lake actually was filled with radioactive water this time. It took me a while to haul myself to the bunker which was lodged north-west on the map. It was a rather comfy place, with metal walls surrounding it and squads of stalkers guarding it, along with some other ones sleeping in small buildings with TVs on (which happened to be playing that one scene from Зелёный слоник). I was able to finally sell off those mutant parts for a nice sum of money and get medicinal supplies. Sakharov also now has the ability to identify artifacts which you are carrying (now you do not know their properties if you haven't identified them yet at Sakharov's place, he also asks for some money to do so for each artifact as well). Soon I was off back to Rostok to restock and go to X-18.
I threw my TOZ away and bought a brand new Saiga, a Walther, more ammo and supplies. Getting inside wasn't much of an issue, I went downstairs in the old Dark Valley level and was in X-18 yet again. X-18 here also happens to be from the old builds, which was a bit more labyrinthine in its layout. What seemed like an easy task soon turned out to be something that drained my ammo real fast. The stairs were swarming with civilian zombies (which now didn't have the usual models that civilian zombies tend to get in S.T.A.L.K.E.R mods) and I didn't have any grenades on me as well. As to make matters worse, a pseudogiant ran up and tried to smash me to pulp. My trusty Saiga saved me once again and the bastard rolled down a bit and blocked the way for a group of zombies, so I could headshot a bunch of them with my Walther. And boy, there were enough to make my performance stutter. I ran downstairs while passing through even more zombies, grabbed the documents, ran down to the very bottom of the Laboratory and got a keycard, then I sprinted back up and out of the darn place to never return again, hopefully, I didn't find many supplies there anyway.
The Bunker also was rather memorable since it was filled with poltergeists and pyrogeists, and was different than vanilla's. That is, more or less like the one from the old builds, with a section akin to the Monolith Control Center at the bottom part of it. I got to run around a bit as an invisible bloodsucker chased me and always evaded me. The bastard seemed to be pretty tough and presented a threat to me at all times, which made for a kind of a nice hide and seek game until a lucky grenade strike ruined it for him.
There's some more stuff but I've already made a rather long wall of text as it is.
Oh yeah, and that CoC campfire thing is nifty. It almost starts to feel like there's been a sudden surge of campfire related changes in mods or something.
I thought I'd let you guys know that I just recently made this as a repository for community written stories either for popcorn reading or as additional flavor text for mods. If you guys have any pulp fiction to add let me know.
Just none of Green's stupid sexy snorks please.

Is the mod one of those that only works on Russian ShoC or does it function on Western SoC's as well ?.
juggling the lives of the 3 duty hostages in SoC is a tedious task which you shouldn't attempt

Doesn't seem like it, I get an "Out of memory" error which I've seen before when trying out the first OLR version on an English install of SoC. In both cases they seem to magically vanish when playing on a Russian install. You're free to give it a shot yourself if you really want to, but I still find the use of a Russian install more comfortable.

Now you may come up with what I mean with this by yourself lawl :v:
I found an old Screenshot I had taken when Misery 1.0 came out.

[sp] Look at the Stalker's name[/sp]
I'm trying to use that OWR mod with Atmosfear 3, the OWR readme says the particles.xr file is somehow compatible with the one in atmosfear, does that mean I have to merge them to use them both or what?
I've been wanting to replay CoP lately, but I don't know what mod to add. What's the best mod for adding absurd amounts of new weapons and stuff? Is that one mod "People Soup" in english? I've heard that one adds some crazy shit.

Don't know what to recommend as far as CoP, but the Soup is a SoC mod. If you're still interested, check out Technobacon's site.

Swarts or SGM is probably what you're looking for. People soup is for Shadow of Chernobyl.
So, Polygon did this nice little article on the collapse of GSC and what happened afterward. It's a good read.

It's so strange that, to this day, there is no solid reason as to why Grigorovich company closed the company.
STALKERSOUP is in English but for ShoC. If you want to get stupid overpowered and experience balls to the walls insanity try SGM.

I just read the Polygon article on STALKER 2 and GSC...damn that makes me bitter.
you know, seeing that little metro flair the other day had me thinking
there is one thing metro has that stalker does not
and that is motherfucking bourbon
Obviously I kinda need the up to date Steam version in order to play all the newer mods.
Uhh, with physical copies you're much less likely to run into problems running mods than with Steam versions and you can also avoid the downgrading hassle if a mod suddenly decides to only run on an older version. Although, with Call of Pripyat, almost all mods run on the latest 1.6.02 version anyway.
Either way, the deal is that some S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods don't function very well on Steam versions, and for example Misery didn't really even officially support Steam version until recently with the 2.0 patch. Sure, it works now but physical copies are the most safe and hassle-free option when it comes to playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with mods.
Ok so I have been wanting to try out Misery, but I have a problem. I don't actually own CoP. I don't have the money to buy it on Steam even though I really want to. Obviously I kinda need the up to date Steam version in order to play all the newer mods, so here's a question. If I ordered the game off of Amazon, even though it would be a huge hassle compared to just buying it on Steam like I wish I could, would I then be able to just add the CD-Key on through Steam in order to get the updated Steam version? Or am I just screwed basically.

Also, this is my opinion and no I'm not biased even though I'm part of the Gunslinger team
leak it
fucking LEAK IT you BASTARD
Are there any plans to change the gameplay in any way? Or does it just add/replace guns and add those anims? The closer to Redux in terms of brutality, supply scarcity, economy and lack of HUD, the happier I'll be.
Will there still be weapon upgrades, and will the weapons behave the same as vanilla other than aesthetically?

In theory, yes, you should be able to. If not directly, then possibly through steam support if you provide evidence of owning a legitimate copy
