Isn't that what handling's for? Aim time, inertia, etc [editline]28th March 2014[/editline] To that matter, increased weight would decrease muzzle rise and possibly affect balance, especially with an extended mag
Less vertical recoil more horizontal recoil, I can imagine. [editline]28th March 2014[/editline] Does anyone know if there are x4 ACOGs in Misery 2.1 btw? Looked around quite a bit for them but I can't find anything.
You mean make the true aim lag behind aiming point or just reduce sensitivity? Oh wait nvm, just the animation.
No, not the animation.
Isn't that what handling's for? For instance, look at a Pistol, an Assault and a Sniper rifles' configs. You'll see the weapon mass increase accordingly. The SVD for example has a mass of '5', while the other 2 are lower. I thought of adding the 'mass' line to attachments and upgrades as well, increasing (or decreasing) the mass of the weapon and so (indeed) the sensitivity in handling it (so you'll have to swipe more to move a Sniper around than an assault rifle without upgrades) etc.
Handling as in handling stat for guns, got it.
I still need help with making the squad (Sokolov, Zulu, Vano, Strider) near-invincible so they stop dropping dead in the underpass
I recently re-installed Shadow of Chernobyl and I've been experimenting with various mods... started playing OGSE and it's bloody amazing. I'm extremely impressed at how they have changed the quests and implemented loads of new features in a way that seems very polished and doesn't look obviously like a mod. However, it also seems ludicrously hard. The bandits at the beginning of the game were incredibly dangerous, and I've now been killed by wild boars a few times because they have insanely high health. Have a boar coming towards me, blast it repeatedly with a a shotgun, just keeps on coming, took like 8 shots or something. Searching around I've found other people criticising the same things - enemies with guns are super dangerous with their guns, while all the mutant creatures are given massive amounts of health. I've gone and extracted the various files and I'm now editing them, trying to make things a little more fair. I've making the creatures slightly tougher than in the vanilla game, and I'm resetting some of the stuff in m_stalker.ltx to be like the vanilla game. For instance in the vanilla game visibility_threshold is 150 when enemies aren't alert and 120 if they are in danger mode; in OGSE those values are 30 and 10, a massive difference! Strangely, I saw some advice saying online that increasing visibility_threshold made enemies able to spot you more easily, but that clearly can't be the case as OGSE has very low values for visibility_threshold and they always spot you. I'm curious, has anyone else released any sort of mini mod or patch to adjust the difficulty of OGSE? I'd be very interested.
what is with these runaway artifacts that i keep finding every now and then? just found a sparkler behind the boiler anomaly
One explanation for the shotguns' weakness in OGSE is the ammo: by far the most common is birdshot, and as the name suggests it's not design for shooting pigs. Once you get your hands on some buck the shotguns should be far more effective.

Hunters? That reminds me, Loner you guys should make crows lootable :D
Hunters? That reminds me, Loner you guys should make crows lootable :D
IIRC they are lootable, just that 99% of the time you don't find anything.
I just hate this game sometimes. I mean come the fuck on!
I'm glad Reborn works with OWR and Variation mod.I'm mostly happy about Variation Mod for it, that was the only thing it was missing

In the game files I discovered that OGSE makes a wild boar have 900 health, AND makes it so that all body parts only suffer half damage except for the head which suffers 0.7 damage. In the original game the health was 400 and all body parts suffer normal damage, and the head does 2x damage. They made the common, random boars at the Cordon into minibosses! I've now reset their health back to 400, but kept the body part thing. Also dogs had twice as much health as in the vanilla game, I've adjusted that so now they have just 1/3 more health than the vanilla game. So yeah, I'm loving OGSE's features, not so keen on them making the most basic enemies in the game into serious dangers. Made doing the Cordon miniquests a pain in the arse, I was tempted to just continue on into the zone because I figured I had a better chance of surival against bandits and soldiers rather than pigs and dogs. I've also heard some infamous stories that in the underground part where you first encounter a controller they made it so you have to fight two controllers at the same time. Checking the files... yup they increased controller health from 200 to 900. An enemy that psychically attacks you and can knock your weapon out of your hand. I've put that down to 350. Of course, I may discover when I get to that point that I have some super powerful weapons, if so I'll change the controllers back to 900 health. I'm sure I can't be the first person to go tampering with these things in OGSE, I'm hoping someone has already made a nice balanced mini-mod for it.
My only problem with the boars in OGSE is that they had the ability to launch me 50 meters out of my car whenever I got out. :v:
Does Reborn and comp. patches work with Addon version of OWR? I'm stupid, it doesn't. Will we ever get a patch for OWR 2 w/ weapons Addon?
I've also heard some infamous stories that in the underground part where you first encounter a controller they made it so you have to fight two controllers at the same time.
Yup, this is 100% correct. General strategy there is to hold a gun you don't care about, lob a few grenades and run for the ladder. There's also a pack of rats that spawn at this point.
What's up with snorks and their nice asses?
You've been in the zone too long, friend.
Playing through the L.E.G.E.N.D.A.R.Y. mod here, and I've come across a bit of a dilemma. After finding my way to the Army Warehouses after giving the Barkeep the X-16 docs, I walked up to the freedom base and before I could even enter, I crash right to desktop. Is this a common bug? I know a patch exists for Legendary but this is the second time I've restarted and I'm losing my patience with this mod

Just spend about a day doing other stuff in a different area and then once an ingame day passes, try again. What does the error log say after crashing/what is put into your clipboard for you to paste once it does crash.
Some old gold
this is why I always side with freedom any given oppertunity they just too chill to kill, duty is too boring and strict, freedom knows what's up
Paid my way into survarium beta, it's really fun and feels stalker-y but it crashes a lot right now. Thankfully you can just launch it up again and it sends you right into the game within 20 seconds.
I didn't even know you could pay to get in - just searched the site and discovered those "founder packs". Given that the basic $10 pack gives you $10 worth of in-game currency, not too bad a deal. Definitely tempted. Though I'm wondering is the open beta going to be starting soon? Would be a little silly to pay to get in before it becomes open to everyone. Also LOL at the the $100, $250 and $500 packs. Yep, gotta get me a t-shirt and useless flag, take hundreds of dollars. (Are those flags in-game or real-life? Even if real-life... why would you pay $500 to get a couple of flags from a game that you haven't even played yet and when you don't yet know anything about the factions?)

GOG has the stalker series? Why the hell have I never known this. Also, gave up on replaying CS, once I got to agroprom it started crashing like no tomorrow to the point where I couldn't take more than 3 steps once I got in game

I was using the beta for it
Guess who just got an invitation for the CB of Survarium :v:
