Heh, I've just become 18, so I'm willing to believe that, yeah.
It's funny, because I've been a modder for over 9 years now. Well, seriously modding since a year of 6 ago. SWAT:Rebalanced for SHoC was my very first serious production. From there, I've grown into who I am now. Funny, to actually think about it.
How long have you guys actually been modding? :v: (any game)

My first modding was at the release of SOC. Making skins and stuff thanks to the help of Faiakes. And then slowly moving into scripting and then eventually models and levels as I grew older and began to understand and grasp the way Stalker and its engine worked.

my first modding memory is making levels in CoDRadiant for the original Call of Duty haha

i used to make voxels for tiberian sun.
Anybody know how to add the original zombies back into the game without downloading a huge mod that adds tons of other stuff?
I'm on about these guys: http://stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Zombie

You could download R.M.A. or "Old Story Restoration Mod" as it's called in english. It's basically Vanilla but has some of the cut sequences intended for the Shadow of Chernobyl game and also restores the cut mutants.

Skyrim modder for about 2 years now. My first one was an attempt at bringing Castle Brennenburg (Amnesia: The Dark Descent) into Skyrim. Limitations in the engine and my boredom caused me to not be able to finish it. I now work on Realistic Lighting Overhaul for Skyrim.
Yeah, I've only modded Skyrim so far.
I used to port weapons from various games to goldsrc engine ones; still do occasionally. That's probably about as far as my modding ever went.
I used to do damage tweaks for CoP, that was it.
I always did have a problem with buckling down and getting shit done.
I've modded a fuck tonne of games since I was a little kid. Mostly tweaks and occasionally new content. I almost never release the mods though for some reason.
were they ever worth releasing?
i mean if it was like bugfixes and shit, you totally should.
Hey LoNer1, very impressed with your Photorealistic Zone 2! I was struggling to decide whether I preferred the old Photorealistic Zone or the Absolute Nature and Structure packs, but then gave your textures a try and that did the trick very nicely!
At the moment I'm using a mixture of textures from the Levels addon and your Shader pack. I wasn't so keen on the colourful flowers etc in the Levels folder from the Shader pack; they looked OK, and they may even be realistic (I'm sure fields in Chernobyl have wild flowers, like everywhere else in the world), but they just changed the look of things a little too much for me, it was the only thing that didn't feel like STALKER to me. Everything else: fantastic.
Looking through the files I noticed that you had the flowers only in some levels, while other levels have the more bleak vegetation from the seperate Levels addon, that was a nice idea.
Your screenshots, which shaders do you normally use? The main ones in the CORE folder, or some of the other optional shaders?
I'm wondering where to get the last version of your Particle Paradise mod for Shadow of Chernobyl? On moddb I saw some patches and updates and elsewhere I see an old version from 2010, I'm wondering what is the latest version and what patches to apply etc.
Did you do the particles for Autumn Aurora 2? I like the anomalies, since they have the distortion effects from the original game but get rid of some of the other visuals clues. (And the anomalies have cool effects once triggered.) Other mods like Particle Enhancement v3 or OGSE got rid of the distortion effects on many of the anomalies, while for me the distortion was always the coolest part. I'm expecting I'll see similar stuff in your Particle Paradise mod.
Autumn Aurora 2 is actually a bit too brown for me, so I'm considering trying to use some of your PRZ2 textures to greenify things a bit. (still have a foggy, moody environment without having all the grass, trees and bushes being brown...)
I'm looking forward to playing Beacon's newest modding project.

I used to mod Halo:CE
my first modding memory is making levels in CoDRadiant for the original Call of Duty haha
What was that?
I made mods for Command and Conquer: Renegade, Neverwinter Nights, Fallout: Tactics and Fallout 3. Some other games, too but I barely remember.
these stalkers still refuse to believe that they arent in tf2 and just keep loading multiple rockets in their rpg-7s

Damn, thanks man. Makes someone like me smile.
First off, the flowers indeed look out of place, mostly because of the saturation filter applied in the shaders (in the CORE map indeed, the rest is optional). I won't explain how this works because it's pretty useless for you to tweak the shaders. I recommend the following;
Get rid of the grass textures. I'll personally send you the new ones within the coming days so you may use them and test them a bit. I've tried to blend them with the environment some more.
Next up, I'll update the shader package. I'm always using my own shaders in all screenshots I make, unless I play another mod. I want to give a 1:1 representation of my mod to my audience. I DO make screenshots with FRAPS so they're HQ .PNG ones, not low quality engine generated .JPG's.
And yes, I was the one who created AA2's particles. Those particles have been in my previous mod, Particle Paradise 1.1.1.8, which was released late 2009. I then improved them a bit and offered them to Vandrerer. I'm working on a new version for him, but it's going slow. And yes, I love distortion effects, I try and make good use of them in a scientifically correct way!
For PPx2.2 (the latest version) I've not yet announced a release. I'm working on creating classes of artefacts / anomalies and implement them in-game. I am going to release a stand-alone PPx and an ADDON version, for use with -most- mods / merges.
And lastly, AA2 can't really be 'fixed' with PRZ2 without using AN3's textures which aren't included in the mod. I'm going to make an AA2 patch eventually, because I own AA2 and I wondered what it would look like as well in green :)
Cheers!

I try to mod whatever I can get my hands on. I can't not mod a game after finishing it once, sometimes I even spend more time modding than playing, what's worse is that sometimes I find modding it way more fun than playing.

Back around Gmod 9 or so. I made simple skins with camo and proceeded on to adding custom NPC's and stuff into the game. After a brief stint in modelling I simply lost interest in creating content altogether. I have this obsession to find out the inner workings of games that I like, after playing I would always browse through the files to see how everything was put together. I would change values here and there to find out what they did, and most of the time the game would crash but other times it worked and it helped me understand it just a little more. I wish I still had as much time as I did back then but unfortunately having lots of work and dealing with college and my family going into bankruptcy has halted any dedicated development. Maybe this summer I might have time to do some cool stuff with STALKER because I always have wanted to make mods for it and improve the game in general.

It can't be just me that finds all this April fools stuff tedious and painfully stupid right?
