Hey guys, where are there so many new posts in the threa- Oh.
It feels a bit...hallow. To know that everything they strived and worked for, the goals they had, and the ambitions for success only fell short because of some testers who leaked it. I know a lot of the people working on LA from the past 5 or so years and the dedication they have towards their projects and how much it meant to them to achieve what it was about to be. I know for a fact many if not all of them are either fuming in anger, or heartbroken over the event.
It really is a shame, and I feel for everyone who worked on it... but honestly, it was only a matter of time. I'm honestly surprised that it took this long to get leaked... And even then, it's an old build from October 2013 being leaked. Hey, at least it wasn't like SoC's development which was like a leaking tap :v:
I did download it to have a look on the files, I can hold out and not launch it, but couldn't hold myself of at least looking at scripts and other files. It does seem like a 2013 october build from all the dates, so everything should be better than it is in that!

With a project of that scope in the manner of which it is being developed, leaks were a large risk, as it is just with large commercial games and projects. Still. It is a shame I will not be around during the official release from the team themselves. I shall just have to wait until Late July to give it a go. :v:
Before the leak [t]http://i1.minus.com/iRd05oeGdd8nr.jpg[/t] :'( Back to AA2, I'm not really a fan of AA2's pistols, most of them are way too tiny for me to actually enjoy using them. I think they should more be sized around the size that lurk had them (closer to the screen i mean, maybe more towards the center) I also miss the color in the zone. If it looked like this but colorful I would like this mod all that much more. Though the helmet overlays are actually fantastic because they don't block your view, and them + breathing sounds greatly enhance the immersion i think.
Are you talking about LA or something else?
First part was LA, second part with Pistols was about Autumn Aurora 2.
You could just tune up saturation in sweetFX.
I did already (plus too much makes it look weird) I'm kinda missing the greens and bright blue skies
SweetFX has that intelligent saturation thing you could use, brings stuff out more the more saturation it originally had.
After all these years, it ended like this. I kinda cried a little.
I know, it's a horrible feeling. To think that the hard work that these people have put on Lost Alpha over the course of these years only earned them a kick in the dick by the community, it makes me absolutely frustrated.
Just staring at the menu screen. I remember back in 2010 or something when they showed the menu along with the theme. I commented "Woah that menu screen looks so awesome and I love that song, don't change it at all" They didn't and I'm just sitting here, listening to this soundtrack and staring at the menu. After all these years, it ended like this. I kinda cried a little.
At least they are still moving forward with it in some way. Hey, you never know, if reception is good enough for the official release maybe it could even become commercial again or maybe they could be hired for STALKER 2 (though that's even more [t]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/rainbow.png[/t])

All of that sweat, blood and tears put into setting up the plant and the town, and it all gets ruined in one night by a couple of incompetent douches.

(In fact Absolute Nature 3 for Call of Pripyat has options for whether you want green plants, autumn, rotten, dry or dead... alot of the vegetation in AA2 is simply the autumn textures from Absolute Nature, should be simple to switch.)
Clear Sky:2014 is actually playable now and doesn't crash http://www.moddb.com/mods/clear-sky2014
Lost Alpha leak? What? Did anyone here play it?
huh HOW DO I EMBED edit; omg thanks
huh
I've seen some shit... but nothin' like this.
For GSC this is win-win scenario. They latched on the first reason to break their deal. Sales will skyrocket either way with zero work done by GSC. I think they should get back at GSC by accidentally leaking X-Ray source code so modders can finally fix the piece of shit themselves without resorting to patching xrGame.dll.
huh
Remove the S in https [editline]2nd April 2014[/editline] But on that note, what the fuck?
Hey why so many new posts... oh... ...im sad now

Maybe he went fucking nuts after seeing that work which had been closely guarded being leaked on the net. And while being in that state he wrote all those messages. They can't just quit developing it because someone leaked a 1 year old build. They' re gonna finish it, I'm sure. After 7 years, they won't stop herew.

Bitterness is a powerful weapon and I can see the team--a very large part of it--walking away out of spite.
Is this really what the lost alpha map is like? [t]http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/271/lazonedream.jpg[/t]
But it's so unlikely that either of them (and probably M4s) to make it to the black market in any noticeable quantities and make their way to the Zone. But then again, so are AS "VAL", VSS "Vintorez" and a couple of other things. Completely realistic arsenal of stalker would be fucking boring and contain a variety of pistols, bunch of hunting rifles, rare AKs, a couple of sniper rifles and that's it. So pretty much everyone equipped like Clear Sky in vanilla CS.
I know this is a pretty late reply, but it wouldnt be that unplausible for there to be M4's in the zone. After the 2008 South Ossetia War, tons of Georgian M4's were confiscated by the Russians and "destroyed" I would be the least bit surprised if a lot of those M4's ended up on the black market. Now, I know STALKER was in development way before that, but it would still make more sense then the prototype version on the LR300. As for the VAL and VSS, those could be from Russian military Stalkers (Like Degtyavrev). Other than that, you're right, it should be mostly pistols, and hunting rifles, though probably more AK's than you think. Also, I feel really bummed about LA. I've been waiting for LA for ages, and aside from Redux 2 (or whatever its new name will be) it was really the only thing I was looking forward to to get me back into STALKER after such a long hiatus. I'll still get it when it comes out, but it still really sucks. I had the money, I'd try and see if there would be a way to donate some cash to dez0wave and the team to cover a would-be purchase
I wouldn't think all of black market would work for the Zone, honestly, M4s would probably be more interesting for other buyers. Especially given the weapon's shitty reputation, hardly a lot of people would buy it for the Zone conditions. And AKs - yeah, probably, there would be a lot - for some reason I didn't think about all the countries that make various clones. Various Chinese, Middle Eastern, even American clones.
Is this really what the lost alpha map is like? [t]http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/271/lazonedream.jpg[/t]
I heard it was a leak from 2010. Why is lake yantar so up north anyway? And what is that area west of cordon?
I'm not sure anyone's ever been able to agree on how the full map should look. A few things are always shuffled around. New areas are definitely one of my favorite mod additions, though. Misery or Redux with Gunslinger's animations and the entire Zone would be my perfect game.
