Weapons probably wouldn't be too hard to merge, but I would definitely not fancy the task of merging MSO into SGM.

True, I'd just like to get some more difficulty into SGM. It's fun, but eventually gets too easy, even with Alpha Squads.

Based on the leak I'm very optimistic, but I really hope they will tweak some things before release.
This is stupid, but i really hope they change the ground textures to blend with the grass better.
Even with the high grass draw distance the change between grass and terrain is still jarring (based on the leak anyway)
Also arm textures for armors. Those two are the main things I want them to have/fix

Give me great animations with csky/cop hands for those few new weapons that LA adds, and you will have a mod on your doorstep delivered in 24 hours.
Could you possibly do the same but with new hand meshes for different armors if you had anims for them?
Or is that way more difficult/impossible?

That's what I'm telling you, actually replacing textures on the mesh is a matter of minutes, but I need one ogf file with those good looking animations, or at least the same animations that those new weapons have, but under clear sky/call of pripyat hands.
Otherwise, all the weapons from SOC would have changing suit hands, and those few new weapons wouldn't, because they use old stalker shoc texture for hands.

LURK merge of the grass with LA... yesh. LURK was one of the few mods that managed to blend the grass perfectly with the ground, albeit a little oversaturated.

Hey! I haven't really been registered anywhere before, but I thought now is quite the time, since LA is coming out so soon, and I'm planning to make a mod on it's engine.
I've been reading forums (mostly russian) and modding vanilla game for quite some time, wanted to release a mod but never really finished it. Now that LA is coming out, it's about time.
Regarding custom arm textures, I do have some in my archives, from metro and stuff, but I'm not really a texture artist, I haven't really retextured anything myself, only worked with some meshes before, but not a lot of experience there either.
I could check out what suits you are talking about, maybe I could figure something out, no promises though :)

Honestly, I'm not particularly master at anything, I do know a little bit about everything, at least that's what I think. That would be a terrible line to say in a meeting for a job though :v:

Actually I've never been in a group or anything like that, I was working slowly in my free time on my own mod, but like I said never really finished it. Had lots of ideas though, and I'm quite sure they could be possible to implement on the new engine of LA.
Those textures are actually from vintar's arms match suit mod, it's the one I was talking about, it would be quite easy to implement into LA, just need new meshes for those few new weapons, like I said. I'm pretty sure it's integrated into Autumn Aurora 2 mod as well, but those arm textures might be slightly edited in there.
I see that Doom's mod merge for SoC has some kind of "total freeplay" mod as part of it, what exactly is it? I want to play through all the main story missions, would that prevent me from doing so or does it just add some extra stuff for that?

Doom's Mod Merge rips out the whole main quest.

You'll be able to create your own character, modify your name and your faction, then you'll spawn into their base and can do some small sidequests for them or just fuck around in the Zone. The Brain Scorcher is, by default, switched off in the start of the game.
