I'm surprised I'm saying this but I'm really sick of the cordon (the release/CS version) and I'm not sure why
Could you describe this mate? My internet here at home is just pitiful, I can't even watch youtube videos...
It's a close combat action scheme that activates when stalkers have shotguns. Instead of pussy-footing around in cover or at long distances they rush the enemy target. If the stalker is reloading he will facer the enemy otherwise he will keep his distance or go into cover (If cover is closer). In the video I gave Fanatic a shotgun and he destroys a couple dozen mutants by himself.
You know, we all joked about STALKER when the Fukushima plant exploded after that Tsunami, but the Exclusion Zone in Japan has a lot of potential. For a book, a game, a movie, whatever. It's a little more unsettling in a few ways. In Chernobyl people had a bit of a warning, they knew about the evacuation, took stuff with them, shut the doors and locked the windows. In Fukushima everyone literally had 15 minutes to run as far as they could before the Tsunami hit, leaving EVERYTHING behind. Japanese Society, unlike in the Ukraine is a little different. Chernobyl became the victim of looting, vandalism. In Japan, it's literally the same exact way as people left it. The stores still have shelves and shelves of food and product on them for example. Also Chernobyl as a city and all the surrounding villages didn't EXPLODE with the NPP. They were left all intact, just.. there. In Japan some were left too, especially further away from the shore but the closer you get to the coast, the NPP the more warped the landscape becomes. Fields of mangled cars, collapsed buildings, abandoned boats two miles inland and so on. And another unsettling thing is a lot of the infastructure still survived. So the lights still come on, the power still works.. things that were left on when people ran away may still be powered up today. Ok WHAT THE FUCK What have they done to Agroprom it just keeps going and going and going I don't even know what I'm looking for It just says "uncover the secret of agroprom" the fuck does that even mean meanwhile there are 40 different new paths to take and each is dark and each eats up ammo why Don't go into agroprom in Lost World Origins if you want to keep your sanity My PDA doesn't even work down here so I don't even know if that's what it said or I just went off the deep end Oh yeah and flashlights now run on batteries and get progressively dimmer and flicker more as time goes by :suicide: All of this exploring I've done amounts to about 30 min of footage in which all I'm technically doing is wasting ammo and battery life
nope nope nope nope
I DID IT I FOUND WHAT I WAS SEARCHING FOR TAKE THAT RUSSIANS YOUR HORDES OF ENEMIES, SEEMINGLY ENDLESS AMOUNT OF EXTRA ROOMS AND BATTERY POWERED FLASHLIGHTS CAN'T HOLD THIS STALKER BACK ME 1 RUSSIANS 0 [sp] + 100 because the other labs are probably 10x worse [/sp] I'm gonna go take a shower

Mine keeps crashing when I start a new game.
I had that too Navigate to gamedata\meshes\physics\stul rename stul_1a to stul_1ñ you should be good to go Then put the machine translation I posted above over your mod if you haven't
Thanks, only a stalker mod would cause a crash because of chairs.
For anybody who wants to play Lost World Origins http://www.petit-fichier.fr/2014/04/16/lwo-machine-eng-1-5/ There's a machine translation available
Are the downloads listed on the first page of the GSC forum thread the latest ones? Anyone with pripyat reborn installed, what's the install order for PR + OWR2.1 + variety + mutant population thingy?

I just looked at some screenshots of Clear Sky, how do all the character models in it look better than both SoC and CoP?
how do all the character models in it look better than both SoC and CoP?
That's funny, the Clear Sky character models are the exact same in CoP. What I'm thinking is happening : 1. The screenshots depicted primarily members of the Clear Sky faction, who have arguably the most stylistic uniforms in the entire series. 2. The nice environmental effects and lighting plays a trick on your brain and makes them look different 3. You're looking at bullshots of the actual game / screenshots that are cherry-picked to make whatever mod is in question to look great.
I just looked at some screenshots of Clear Sky, how do all the character models in it look better than both SoC and CoP?
because it runs 3x worse than both SoC and CoP
That's funny, the Clear Sky character models are the exact same in CoP.
Well, the models for the armor that the Clear Sky faction wears look both cooler and better modeled/textured than any of the other outfits in any of the other games.
Well, the models for the armor that the Clear Sky faction wears look both cooler and better modeled/textured than any of the other outfits in any of the other games.
That's because they are. The textures are 4 times as big and the models are much more detailed too. CoP doesn't add any character models except the new heads.
For some reason, the dead scientist with the code for the first door in Lab X-18 won't spawn. Come to think of it, not even the poltergeist or the snorks have either. I have tried reloading and entering anew yet it's still broken. Does anyone know any fix, or the doorcode itself? EDIT: I looked up the doorcode online, and it won't work unless I find the body with the code first.
For some reason, the dead scientist with the code for the first door in Lab X-18 won't spawn.
Are you playing STALKERSOUP ?
Does anyone know any fix, or the doorcode itself?
Try throwing a gun at the door's hinges (with g) , this method usually works for almost any door in Shadow of Chernobyl. [editline]herp[/editline]
Oh. Well, someone should take those models, retexture them to take away the camo and clear sky patches and turn them into just mercenary/stalker/whatever suits.
Some mods for CoP like M.S.O. and Swartz(?) include the Clear Sky outfits and give them to occasional NPCs like stalkers, mercenaries or Freedom.
That's because they are. The textures are 4 times as big and the models are much more detailed too. CoP doesn't add any character models except the new heads.
Oh.
Oh. Well, someone should take those models, retexture them to take away the camo and clear sky patches and turn them into just mercenary/stalker/whatever suits.
Check out gamebanana. They're alright, but not as good as you'd imagine. CS suits are very distinctive.
Are you playing STALKERSOUP ? Try throwing a gun at the door's hinges (with g) , this method usually works for almost any door in Shadow of Chernobyl.
Yes, I am playing STALKERSOUP, though throwing the gun at the hinges doesn't seem to work either, the door simply snaps back in place.
Yes, I am playing STALKERSOUP
There's supposed to be a patch for Tecnobacon's SOUP (you are playing Tecnobacon's, right ?) that fixes the thing. Protip : If the glitch occurs, Kruglov and the Mercs at the Wild Territory won't spawn either so if you download the fix, the first thing that you could do is go to the Wild Territory to see if Kruglov and the mercs spawn, because if they don't, the mod is fucked up and you can't progress in the main quest. The reason I'm advising you to check the Kruglov / Mercs quest first is because you don't have to go through any plot flags to find it and you can just cheat your way into the Bar and check out whether you'll be throwing 4 hours of your life to waste playing the mod just to find out that you can't progress in the mod.
Damnit Strelok, what are you doing!
"Marked One, what the hell?!?"
I'm at the part in SoC where I helped Krulgov get out of the Wild Territory and he said he would give me a protective suit if I go to the scientist bunker, but when I got there, there's no dialogue option or anything anywhere to get it. How am I supposed to get it?
How am I supposed to get it?
You're not going to get it from Kruglov, but it's possible to attain it in some other way. Basically the line about Kruglov saying that he'll give you a protective suit as a reward is completely misleading, there's a disconnect between the dialogues and what you'll get. Presumably GSC made the dialogues first, then decided to change the stuff where you get the reward from, and just left the false dialogue in. There's a bunch of stuff like that in the games.

I just installed the ModDB version and got the translation Blood linked, along with the english fix. Is there a step by step guide? Also what's the latest version of the Soup right now? Might give that another try too. EDIT: Got a crash on Lost World after installing the ModDB version + english fix and machine translation.
