i'm just saying, if it's meant to be the same chernobyl exclusion zone since 1986 they wouldn't have updated stop signs
i'm just saying, if it's meant to be the same chernobyl exclusion zone since 1986 they wouldn't have updated stop signs
Depends. The public infrastructure network is still maintained between Chernobyl and the CNPP in order to accommodate the maintenance staff. By STALKER standards all government-related activities officially halted in 2006, which means that places like the CNPP are, well, were in mostly mint condition before things like the army bombing the shit out of the power plant during Operation Monolith happened.
i'm just saying, if it's meant to be the same chernobyl exclusion zone since 1986 they wouldn't have updated stop signs
They have been placed after the 2006 events, mostly in areas that used to be partially or fully controlled by the army. That's why GSC made this sign in English, the others vanilla signs are written Cyrillic.
OHMYGODITSOLY7DAYSSTILLOSTALPHARELASEAS :suicide: In the meanwhile, let's try out LWOrigins, seems like a fund mod from what I have read.

LWO is fun if you're in for the crazy Russian stuff, but the price tags are ridiculous, stalking out in the field yields very little profit(for too much cost), most of the quests are very badly explained or even far too broken, and even though the additional 1935 locations and maps are pretty nice to see in working conditions the things added make some situations just flat out crazy.
Speaking of Lost Alpha, what would be the thread's policy on spoilers ? I mean, I'll probably personally go dark for a month or two after LA's release so it doesn't concern me that much, but as a general interest guideline for others, since roughly half of the fun in Lost Alpha will probably be exploring and finding out cool secrets but on the other hand many posters will probably be excited over the release and want to post screenshots and stories on the cool shit they find.
You also need a high tolerance for unfinished-ness and shit that should be explained but you have to figure out by fucking up instead [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297176086316/AD55D47DC0DE7A16E3960EA3C2DCB7A2441AFDFE/[/t] Yantar literally has a road that leads to the edge of the map. The invisible wall is at the drop to nothing, but it's not even close enough to stop you from falling off. If you can look past the lack of direction and polish it does look nice and it can be pretty fun, especially with the added survival mechanics, and the way they've merged certain maps and beta maps with retail maps is pretty cool (like the dark valley which has a few things from retail but is absolutely massive now [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297155094119/0E6742C1168A2A55885CE5D6E17A59CCE5DE32F8/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297155095922/E8F17E25676D06822C31B15510A4F42F90A601B9/[/t] [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297155097072/3681B17891975638FC6C5727A5A7C9CDA399EA1B/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297155101483/AC0EBBC3D2FBBBA7D75C396D7872D83695D4042A/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297155891698/6FE456BD71626283DFAF3217E0EAD7B06148DCE9/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297176055940/F72CA3A41C8E623A6147C69DE52B3251998D2ACE/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/598160297176216868/08EEF6EE5BEF8B6692B0C8E80C9F501C17B59F7C/[/t]
How does a rookie get around to playing this Lost World whatever it is. It should tide me over until Lost Alpha.
How does a rookie get around to playing this Lost World whatever it is. It should tide me over until Lost Alpha.
Go to it's modDB page, download main file and patch, fix that one random model error(I just copy pasted another file).
Sweet! http://www.openculture.com/2010/07/tarkovksy.html
i wonder if the recreation of the build 1154 kalashnikov is still in LA you can see it in the LA 2013 new year trailer
Argh, are they really gonna make us have to choose between player shadow and legs? Player shadow is so immersive and is perfect for a game like STALKER with all the dark and moody places but I love seeing legs too. god damnit LA
You can get away without a shadow if you believe Marked One is a mutant himself. There we go conundrum solved.
I'd probably choose shadow. In the Shoker mod you got bothb but your shadow is a man with no upper limbs or head.
You can get away without a shadow if you believe Marked One is a mutant himself. There we go conundrum solved.
Considering how everyone in The Zone looks like we might as well as conclude they're all mutants.
What are you going to notice more to the point, in games with this feature I tend to forget I can actually look at my own legs
The main reason I think I'd want it is because it'd be one way to see your new armor without going to third person But I'll probably stick to shadow too, maybe. Shadow is a lot more noticeable in most situations EDIT: Does anybody have a general estimate of the playable world size in all the STALKER games, and maybe the beta builds? I know the LA map is roughly 60 km but I don't know if that's the playable map or just the map itself, and I also want to compare the retail game worlds to other game worlds
The problem with full player shadows is that it's a constant reminder that you have a body, except you look down and you don't. Bioshock 2 did this as well.

I'm going to give it another go after it's been worked on more and someone releases a real translation.
Are there any good gore/dismemberment mods for any of the Stalker games?
So with Autumn Aurora 2 I tried disabling my Steam Overlay, and any other overlays, but it keeps crashing, is this a known problem?
Wait, i'm lost. There is a new mod that is remaking one of the Stalker's game or there is a new Stalker game coming out?
part 2 of call of pripyat's re-animation project is now out: my only complaint is that some of the weapon sounds could be better. otherwise, these animations have a very nice sense of weight and motion to them
They are pretty good, though I think I kind of prefer more the more stylized animations of other mods even if they aren't as realistic. I really hope Lost Alpha has a working stealth system for traveling at night, I want this to be possible all the time and not just during a scripted segment
I really hope Lost Alpha has a working stealth system for traveling at night
Unless they've revamped the A.I since the leak : (spoilers obviously) [sp]The stealth seems a lot more viable option this time around[/sp] con : [sp]The A.I is balls out retarded as a result and feels like it's completely castrated in any sort of twilight even if they're ~15 meters away from you, alerted and looking at you[/sp].
good timing if i may say so myself [sp]aka i took like 10 pictures trying to get it perfect[/sp]
Does Lost World have significant A-Life changes or does it act similar to vanilla AI?
just fyi, pause button is good for taking lightning pics time your pauses, find the shot you want then simply unpause and screenshot immediately after [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/597034314846432771/A23AC5937E80175440FDD1E6F36A9CE3E1FBE70E/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/598159760059433698/DDC101C2C7E47B0D52E52D3E2EB079DBDAC2D1D1/[/t] [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/598159760059386424/F93BFC4226C6BDE2EDBAB908862B7091EFE20193/[/t] Makes it a lot less difficult to get that shot you want Also fuck I just remembered LA has real sun rays and not those screen-space ones SoC mods use fuck yeah lightning strikes with those rays are gonna look so cool in the polished up beta maps.
So I just booted up Lost World, after not knowing what the hell I was doing and leading that soldier assigned to me to death, I ran to the car park and killed some bandits, took their stuff, and then ran across a friendly Stalker who I somehow through random button mashing the Cyrillic managed to make him join me in my adventures.
So with Autumn Aurora 2 I tried disabling my Steam Overlay, and any other overlays, but it keeps crashing, is this a known problem?
disable sweetfx (rename D3D9.dll in the bin folder).
