Is it possible to get rid of the minimap in Lost World : Origins.
It's pretty fucking big.

Should be relatively simple, albeit time-consuming. One additional hiccup you'd have to take into account is editing Redux's random weapons loadout script to take into account the new guns.

Has anyone else had the Steam overlay messing up their STALKER games lately? I've noticed both in SoC and CoP that sometimes opening my overlay will cause my whole HUD to disappear until I reload my savegame. I've got my overlay key bound to Keypad - right now, so I may try another key in case. Doesn't seem to matter what mod is running.

- and + by default seem to turn my game HUD off and on respectively, so I'd have to assume that it's because of your binding for the Steam overlay.

I just purchased SoC, but I can't really get it to run on Win 8. Starts fine, but when either adjusting the resolution and applying changes, or starting a new game, it freezes. I'm pretty sure it's not loading because I've timed it over 5 minutes before force closing the game. I've tried deleting the user.ltx, verifying integrity, just about everything. Anyone got any ideas?
I'm not quite sure why, but I find CoP to be a lot less frightening than SoC.

run as administrator?
don't forget the game is almost 10 years old and was designed initially to run on xp/vista systems.

Especially without mods, CoP's environments are a lot less hostile, and also are a lot less foreboding visually than SoC's.
On top of that, with the exception of pripyat the music, while still atmospheric, is a lot less creepy.
wandering both zaton and jupiter with their music feel more like wandering the cordon rather than somewhere like army warehouses or red forest.
Also the maps are a lot flatter and give you more visibility so enemy encounters aren't as much of a surprise.
I do find myself enjoying CoP much more than SoC though, but that's just my own personal feeling.

I'm greatly enjoying the LWO mod though despite its machine translation and glaring flaws. If it's any indication, LA may very well end up melding what I love about both SoC and CoP into one package.

THe quests and open linearity of COP is what wins for me.
It shows how much GSC improved with time.
Yeah, hope LA is a merge between both.
