In OGSE birdshot is incredibly...terrible. If you get headshots with it, good. Otherwise forget about it, buckshots and darts are the meta of OGSE. Unfortunately in OGSE birdshot is the most common. It sucks even against mutants.

Nope. The one with exponentially more pellets. The difference between buckshot and birdshot is that buckshot has fewer pellets but they're much larger, thus having more potential to penetrate and cause internal damage. Birdshot is seriously like 1mm thick or less pellets, but there's dozens of them in one shell.
Is the birdshot at least good at shooting crows? :v:

I knifed a Chimera to death because I was out of bullets when I ran into it, does that count?
Every time my gun jams/runs out of ammo and I try to banzai-charge the last bandit left, I always get shot to death.
I don't know if it's just me but the problem with knife hit detection is that there doesn't seem to be any.
In CS and CoP they seem to have over-nerfed the knife. In SoC it was really powerful, and the range was pretty decent. I regularly would just knife dogs, fleshes and boars to death to save ammo. In CS I remember literally holding W into a guy and swinging at his center mass while he wasn't moving and not hitting. I don't really use the knife in CoP, so can't say anything there except the range is still terrible.

So at the beginning of SoC is it better to hoard meds or weapons? My inventory weight is almost filled to the brim with 2 assault rifles and a shotgun.

Is it just me, or does CoP seem a tad more unoptimized than SoC (maybe CS as well, I haven't played that)? I can run games with more intense graphics, as well as SoC, without FPS lag, but I always seem to lag when playing CoP.

So i started up TFW, bad thing is that you spawn with no weapons and your reputation doesn't let you join anyone before doing quests.
So i wanted to join freedom, first i had to do some quests for Ashot. [i]easy enough[/i].
I went to garbage and i literally, i mean literally i found Stalker Valhalla. The base in garbage has people from all factions, seems normal enough? except they are all shooting eachother AND NOBODY IS GETTING KILLED. Near the bar there are one duty and one merc that pops up and shoot from cover in turn which looks fucking stupid.

Playing SGM 2.2, just traveled to Yanov. And I am stuck.
My HUD is gone, and Pilot is just standing in front of me. I can't even access the main menu. No keys respond. Reloading the save didn't work.
Help.

You're missing a patch or two.
Joining Freedom for me was pretty easy, because I got lucky and a chopper flew over the base before I left it. I hid and it shot some dude to death who had a Mosin. He only had a few rounds of ammo, but it was enough to get me started.
You gotta join Mercenaries.
Sure, everyone hates you, but you start with cool guns and shit.
