The article "Lost Alpha is Released!" was showing in the updates page on ModDB, link leading to "Page under review". Now the update's gone. Weird.
They have a release trailer that should coincide with the release god damnit I'm now glad I didn't check last night when I got home at 3 am EDIT: apparently they had to split the installer and reupload it since it hit the 4gb limit, it's coming now prepare for modDB crash everyone
From the comments on ModDB
because its not uploaded yet fully. the max file limit is 4gb, and our installer is over 6, so we had to split it into 2gb pieces for easier download. dont blame moddb, just stay calm. :)
, 24mins 5secs ago. They really are uploading it to ModDB what the fuck. Then remember how long it took for that "Lost Alpha is released" article to get approved (only to be canceled, apparently, due to hitting the size limit and going over the deadline) and guess how long it'll take to approve the file. And then ModDB server crashes like I believe it happened once with Project Reality on BF2. No sense staying up tonight guys, tomorrow we'll probably safely download it.
Is it really that hard uploading it to MEGA or just making a torrent?
its like the Cry of fear release all over again when it eventually was released the servers went apeshit
Is it really that hard uploading it to MEGA or just making a torrent?
I'm into conspiracy and think they had a deal with ModDB. Don't they have a policy, when mods that take way too long get deleted in the end? M/b Dezowave had to promise to release it on ModDB so their page won't get killed?
Wait so is there going to be an update on Misery really soon? Because Soup just crashes every time I load it and I want to play some Stalker.
Ah piss. This way I can finish AA2 by tomorrow and have a mod-not-finished guilt free experience.

Apparently they are splitting it is it really worth spending the extra time and effort to split the installer into multiple downloads just to facilitate ModDB's servers that will probably get overloaded anyway?
if moddb didn't get it uploaded within a day or something i'm sure they would seek alternate links.
They botched the release day anyway. Should've just gone with the torrent, really. I literally can't think of any reason to release big files on ModDB. Just release a link and then put patches there like a lot of mods do.

I think that can be wiped at any time, though. Honestly, this happened before with ModDB and I'm sure that everyone can agree that the way their "inspections" work are no less than borderline insane. I get why they'd want to create a site for professional modders, but having to have a piece of media go through a hellhole of quasi-bureaucratic loops to publish a single file on a webpage is ridiculous.

I never understood why it would take as long as it takes. [editline]26th April 2014[/editline]
Cant really upload anything to moddb it seems, not even a small manual, or ost, so we will skip it for now, and go for the torrents. Will post news later, but it will take 3more hours to upload file, and an other one to transfer and start to seed. Sorry for that, but thats all I can do now.
Fresh off the comments.
Thank fuck ModDB admins can go jump in a whirligig
Thank fuck ModDB admins can go jump in a whirligig
It's not over yet. They seem to want to post the link on the page. And it's gonna wait for approval by itself.
Did everyone calm down? lol

The time it takes for LA to come so could someone go to dezo and put it on a stick.
MoDDB is usually pretty stable, I can't blame them for things going slow when something is this hyped. Anything other than instant would feel slow to some people. :v: I do agree that they should have done torrents first, then uploaded it to other sites, though.
'ModDB - we're shit, as usual'
Shoulda tossed it on steam as a free to play.
Do the stalker games have any place where they save the settings apart from the game's folder? Like my documents or something, because I can't find any there.
Do the stalker games have any place where they save the settings apart from the game's folder? I am in Zaton, fighting mercs at the gas station, i am hiding behind a tree returning fire, after i pegged about 3 of the mercenaries, this zombie walks up behind me and with more aggression than a jehovahs witness pumps my sorry ass with lead. remember folks, when low on ammo always refill your shooter #juststalkerthings
this is one botched release
Is something happening right now?
