It's kind of the gold standard of (Ruskie) SHoC mods.

I've also experienced some weird sound issues like the intro at the beginning of the game and a lack of footstep sounds. Sound tends to not play when I'm looting gear as well.

The moddb parts 2,3,4 all have the mandir.7z.00x (x being 2,3,4) broken too it seems.

Having some severe performance issues, the games usually ran fine but I suppose the larger outdoor areas are killing my system now.

lower the view distance, turn off grass shadows, and lower the shadow map quality. The shadows are higher res than regular STALKER anyway so lowering that doesn't look too bad

Finally got the game going, but now the sound is messed up. Voices for example are really loud and have a static sound with them, same goes for fire.

It's been a while since I played stalker (a few years, really) so I'd forgotten how finicky it can be.

Fixed the sound bug. Just restarted my pc. but now my save games won't work anymore. But unlike Bloodshot12 i can start a new game though. Bugs bugs bugs, a true stalker experience indeed.

Apart from it being faster, I think it's also a lot more reliable; some people reported getting errors when unzipping stuff, which I did not. The bugs are not that prolific, but there are some common CTDs that I and others are working on rooting out and warning others of. Have a quick glance through the thread for some of them. Despite it's currently rough nature, I heartily recommend it.

Fixed it in the usual stalker fashion of deleting the user.ltx and resetting everything. Honestly, aside from my ctd issue i just fixed it's been relatively stable, though other people have been reporting crashes from using the contact lists and other things. I'd try the torrent anyway, because then if you do have problems in the future you can just apply the patch instead of having to download everything.

Ugh I hate Mega. The thing just sitting in my browser like that makes me so damn nervous.

No idea guys if you tried, but try installing everything that is in 3rdparties folder, that MIGHT fix the crashes.

Well, I'm the kind of person who says he's an idiot when he acts like a stupid moron, so I've figured out where I was wrong. You have to extract it directly into the existing folder that the first part created. I was trying to extract them into individual folders and then was going to combine them manually, because that's what I normally do. All problems were my fault. At least it appears, it's entirely possible it goes tits up at the last second, but chances are I'm just an eejit.

Any one know how to fix the no footsteps and echoing sounds? It's kind of annoying.

it's amazing how much is different. i had to lower a whole bunch of things but it still looks better than vanilla. sidorovich still looks like a frog though. [sp]has anyone been into the railroad tunnel in cordon? damn place creeps me the fuck out with dynamic lights because i can't see shit[/sp]

Are you really supposed to attack the bandit camp with only 8 bullets? Also does anyone else crash on quickloading?
