Argh, went on a raid of the stashes in Zaton that I know, found out that Misery devs clearly hate how rediculously overpowered they were :v:
Two more days of finals until I can go back to LURKan.
OH GOD
I thought PeopleSoup was 4 gigs, Then I realized it was compressed. Once I un-compressed it...
13 FUCKING GIGS.

Paradise Lost stream - massive eye rape warning
I am having a problem where my monitor doesn't fit with the resolution of SoC, I tried editing the ltx file but it didn't do anything.
Anyone here read the Metro 2033 book? I've just started the game today and i'm fucking loving it. I heard from other people who are huge STALKER fans that it's quite linear, so far that is the case but i'm intrigued by the story.
Should I go out and get the book? The game is fucking beautiful too.

It may have been linear but that doesn't make it a bad game by a longshot. It has an excellent story along with a stunning sense of atmosphere that many post-apocalyptic games don't have. I read the book after playing and I must say if anyone hasn't read it yet they should, it has quite a lot of important bits that were left out of the game.

Hey there, Ranger! I indeed do enjoy M2033 as both book and game. But I'm sorry to tell 'ya that if you've thought Tuzla Tunnel could get you places, then you made a mistake! This is an exclusively stalker-ran place, so if you're looking for things more accustomed to a Muscowite tunnel dweller such as you, how 'bout you take a hike back a couple thousand kilometers and find a place that you fit in more?

The book varies a good bit from the game, they only share the basic quest and some plot events. Still though it's a good read (Although the translations are a bit iffy).
today i learned someting good
If someone asks you to retrieve his briefcase from a cave full of snorks
SAY FUCKING NO
i swear it was a fucking tense as shit pants shitting experience

When I played CoP on my shitty computer, It would lag like every 2 seconds, so when a snork popped up, it stayed there for like 5 minutes, It got kinda old.
I haven't been in this thread in like a year, anything new happen with STALKER or are we still trying to use mods to fill the void in our hearts left by the knowledge that we're never getting STALKER 2

You know the graphics aren't supposed to look like that, right?
[editline]6th June 2013[/editline]
Also does anyone know what file determines ammo drop rates (on dead stalkers) based on the game's difficulty in Shoc? In case that isn't clear, stalker uses the game's difficulty to determine how much ammo a stalker drops when he dies. A lot of ammo is dropped for novice and very little for master etc etc. Which file contains these values?

The files with words like these:
death_items_by_communities
death_items_count

Well turns out I was being derpy, I knew it was death_items_count but my brain didn't register that item_count_0, item_count_1 etc were the different difficulties. I somehow missed that entirely the first time I looked at that file. Thanks though :v:
You know the graphics aren't supposed to look like that, right?
yeah i fixed the graphics but the mod is still weird as shit. the bloodsucker fight in the underground is hilariously unfair
I don't know how many of you are interested in old Stalker shoc stuff, but I've been playing Paradise Lost mod (they just released an english version this month) with my own edits and such and it's really fun. They modeled everything off of old content from the dozens of leaked builds, cut content, design docs, etc. It's the retail shoc storyline still but with some additions and changes based off of old scripts and such.
I also found out that dem crazy russians are somehow patching xrGame.dll which allows them to fix and even add some things once believed to be impossible. For example, the circular crosshair used on the binocs, grenade, and bolt is now used for all weapons. They also added an fov patch and other stuff. I have no idea how to do it myself yet, but for now I'm using a downloaded xrGame.dll which has these changes already. Really interesting stuff.
