that's a corruption of the r2_tonemap settings iirc
This. Try disabling / resetting it or indeed deleting your user.ltx if you don't know how to.
Yeah avoid rats at all costs guys, it's them who cause incorrect leg bone placement. For me it's 100% chance to crash if rats are around. One way or the other. Sometimes when I shoot them. Other times when I take them all out and in 5 minutes (or more!) it crashes. Rarely even if I avoid them without aggroing, it still crashes. Sometimes even without triggering our favorite big green insect. Every single time my game has crashed - rats were around. And trying to ask Petrenko to repair my shit, but that's common AFAIK.
Sorry I'm late to the party. Bonus:
gamedata/config/ui/ui_mm_main.xml <!-- <btn name="btn_options_la" caption="ui_mm_options_la"/> --> Guessing if I uncomment that, the menu works. Going to give it a try. EDIT: Nope. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Oh, gamedata/scripts/ui_mm_main.script has this line -- self:AddCallback("btn_options_la", ui_events.BUTTON_CLICKED, self.OnButton_options_la, self) Going to uncomment that and the other one. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Nope. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Fuck it, someone else can figure it out.
What's wong?
Uncommenting those still results in an Options LA button that does nothing, so out of ideas as to how to re-enable it. Figure i'll delve into it much later after i've done a full playthough of LA, if nobody else manages to get it working first.

Figure i'll delve into it much later after i've done a full playthough of LA, if nobody else manages to get it working first.
Oh, the dev button? I never bothered with it, because they're going to remove it. Also, a patch is rolling out on the 1st of may, so sit tight. It's best advised to stop playing now as a new game will probably be required (new-game not yet confirmed though) -- lol Cromm is going down the same route as Vandreder; The LA page looks a lot more cheeki now http://www.moddb.com/mods/lost-alpha/#4567294
Just opened up Lost Alpha, looks like Options LA button does not work and I can't figure out how to turn off actor legs. Well fuck. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Oh right found it under game as "Show actor shadow". Shieet [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] But still, Options LA button doesn't work.
FYI 1. 'Options LA' is a devmode button disabled for the release. It will be removed in the next patch, so don't bother with it. 2. DISABLE the legs in the options menu and enable shadows, this will prevent the crash with missing bones if rats attack your legs 3. FPS stutter is caused by: SSAO, Grass density, Shadow size and view distance.
I've been running around Rostov trying to get in for hours. I need to talk to Barkeep but there is no fucking entrance? You need to be VIP to enter from East side and the gate is closed on the western side. I'm doing anything wrong?
Some habits die hard :v:

I'm doing anything wrong?
you have to take a really convoluted way around. keep trying, i'm pretty sure you don't go through any gates
Getting a debug menu would be cool...
the debug menu is only really good for modding, but there is a disabled spawn menu in the files that would probably be useful
Still no mod for LA that replaces the regular weapons with LURK ones?
Still no mod for LA that replaces the regular weapons with LURK ones?
http://www.gsc-game.com/main.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr&thm_page=1&thm_id=22373&sec_id=19 has almost all the weapons replaced with stuff from LURK and LWO
Not really fond of the dreadfully circuitous route to get to the Bar tbh.
Is there a keybind to switch camera shoulders?

The gate that's normally directly south of that transition is open, so you have to go all the way round to there.
AI feels fucking retarded so far playing Lost Alpha. Anybody started working on some tweaks to make them actually recognise gun shots?
2. DISABLE the legs in the options menu and enable shadows, this will prevent the crash with missing bones if rats attack your legs
That doesn't work. It may draw the risk to a minimum (for some reason) but it still crashes. Plus this problem has exactly nothing to do with rats actually attacking, missing bones can happen any time after you actually encountered rats. Even without seeing them. It's generally advised to turn it off anyway though, as with it enabled footsteps dissapear.
Also I am checking some of the configs. Turns out the reason why NPCs go flying is because the gun impulse settings are about 4-5x higher than normal. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] And silencers seem to increase the bullet travel distance on pistols instead of decrease it. Who came up with this?
And silencers seem to increase the bullet travel distance on pistols instead of decrease it. Who came up with this?
Isn't that how silencers in real life work :v:
Isn't that how silencers in real life work :v:
Silencers tend to reduce the speed of the bullet to a subsonic speed in order to mask the distinctive cracking sound. Therefore slower bullet = less distance. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Unless since they dropped the bullet speeds, it dropped the distances naturally which means they had it correct all along even though it looks really misleading in the ltx files
Plus this problem has exactly nothing to do with rats actually attacking, missing bones can happen any time after you actually encountered rats. Even without seeing them.
Would it help at all if you made the rats spawn dead by editing their values at the configs ?

I wish blowouts wouldn't have that super corny air raid siren and "THE UNITS ARE OFF TH SCALE CHIFF"
This mod looks TOO good.

Magic, I say! MAGIC!
Would it help at all if you made the rats spawn dead by editing their values at the configs ?
I have zero experience with exiting configs in such a way, so I can't say anything here. Maybe someone else can experiment. I only tell what I know from experience - I dedicated two hours testing on Cordon and then one hour in former Wild Territory, with and without legs enabled. Crash seems to be completely random. It can still happen 3-5 minutes after all the rats have been killed off without even a drop of damage done by them, so I don't think spawning them dead will do anything honestly.
Also does anybody have a good config for the sun lumscale and tonemapping? LA's is a bit off
I'm getting an error on start up, anyone have any ideas? Engine error. Last line in stack trace: TF_CanUninitialize()+2918 byte(s) C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCTF.dll XR_3DA.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCTF.dll" at 0023:77A359B1, TF_CanUninitialize()+2918 byte(s)
If you find things to be too bloomy, tweak r2_tonemap_lowlum from the console. Default value is 0.3; I use 0.45 and the sky doesn't get overexposed. You can tweak the setting in-game by trying different values. You'll probably have to cfg_save after you find the right setting to be sure the user.ltx keeps the value.
