today i learned someting good
If someone asks you to retrieve his briefcase from a cave full of snorks
SAY FUCKING NO
i swear it was a fucking tense as shit pants shitting experience
A good shotgun is your friend down there. That or a decent caliber pistol and some good aim. I never really have trouble down there unless I accidentally fall down the gorge. :v:
STALKER truly needs a flamethrower.

I still think this could be implemented waaay better.
Edit:
I was looking at the screenshots for the steam release of Jagged Alliance Online, and when I saw this, all I could think of was the inventory texture from arsenal.

I made a flamethrower once that was all particle physics and jizz to look at however it did not function as a flamethrower at all.
A flamethrower would attract way too much attention in the Zone. There is a reason why silencers and suppressors are a god-send. Even an exoskeleton doesn't guarantee perfect survival if you are spotted.

Is it just me who really doesn't like using exos? At all?

SEVA master race
SEVA master race
Military Sweater all day erryday
I've played SOC several times but only now learnt how to use artifacts properly (Before i would just load up on endurance enhancing ones). Now I can be immune to radiation, get healed by jumping off buildings and can repair my suit for free. Completely changes the gameplay

I dunno, I tended to avoid artifacts because all they did were simply eliminate gameplay features, rather than enhance them. You would think that they would put radiation and stamina in there for a reason, no? They at least need a hell of a lot of balancing, that's what I'm waiting in in LURK 1.2
Is it just me who really doesn't like using exos? At all?
When you're a new player, sure, the exo seems appealing at first but after a while you just see it as a hindrance.
Skat-9 and Skat-9M master race
He's the skatman
Got a really annoying crash. When talking to lukash after completing the 'Deal with the Snitch' quest the game instantly CTD's. Every time, no matter which save i load. Tempted to just fail the quest as the reward is the same, and the crash doesn't happen (Reluctant though as my failed missions list is empty).
e: Damn if i fail it my reputation goes down to neutral

Only time I can see flamethrowers being used is if Duty wants to fuck up a mutant nest.

I hate not being able to sprint. The only time I used an exo was the CNPP gauntlet at the end of SOC, and that was only because my suit got shot to shit.

I ordered this a while back and I managed to pick it up today. Everything is in Russian which I have so little experience in that it's less embarrassing to say none, but it's worth it.
The cheap nonrefillable [del]sparkmaker[/del] lighter I have trouble getting to actually light anything.
No wait I just didn't know how zippo lighters work.

Really? I ordered one of the same lighters from the site (but separately) and it's actually worked for me just fine, had it over a year now!
Wait, how is it non-refillable? It's just a zippo copy?

Well I just didn't know how it worked, figured it out know, although I don't have lighter gas.
Also it came with the monolith badge.
Is it just me who really doesn't like using exos? At all?
I never use them. Heaviest I usually go is a military suit or a SEVA.
Everything is out of stock it seems.

Ah yeah, you need some lighter fluid for it.
Don't make the amateur mistake of asking for lighter gas and then getting given butane, though - you need liquid fuel, like ronsonol, swan or zippo stuff. It's Naphtha based. Don't use gasoline.

Everything but the collector's edition is.

Will keep it in mind.

It also came with a bonus disk which had this movie called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Real Player III which seems to be some kind of documentary or something, in Russian of course, no subtitles, with scenes around the exclusion zone.
It also has 3 trailers and the soundtrack.
Not to mention all the standard stuff.

Does anybody know if there is an English version of that mod for download somewhere?

idiot plays people soup blind
is there an alternative download link for this? the torrent is insanely slow
The torrent is the only available option but what I would do is post about it on the moddb page and ask if anyone can help you out. I had the same issue and a few people hopped on to seed and make the download easier. It ended up only taking a half hour to download. I'll try to leave mine up as well to make things easier for you.
so if im right the stalkersoup is amod that adds literally a whole new world with missions etc?

The Soup is basically a giant, 13 GB large clusterfuck of a mod that adds everything ever modded into STALKER into your game, including shit like crossbows and miniguns.

Not to mention buying your hands.
