Alright, affer hearing all complaints throughout the week, I decided to write up a quick wishlist for LA that's not made up of fixes: -put more stalkers and pathing in the South -beef up shotguns -make fuel barrels useable with cars -make random blowouts -make Construction Site and Forest not transition levels -make NVGs actually useful -remove some of the overly cheesy cutscenes to keep an aura of mystery -add more useful dialogue and mini quests that aren't fetch quests [sp]-repopulate the Bar with mutants, bandits, and loners -make something interesting happen in Yantar -give the player a reason to backtrack South -put more than one quest in Dead City -turn Chernobyl/Outskirts into a fairly dangerous hideout -GIVE FREEDOM SOME LOVE[/sp]
Since the Xray source was leaked, is there any chance down the road we could see some sort of functional coop for SoC?
I feel painfully sorry for LA team. Because the AI is a disaster. And at the same time, it's very smart. The little soldiers under the AI control are like retarded tiny pieces of code. They genuinely try, but fail because of shoddy coding. Because I just fought a lot of monolith guys at over [sp]X-18[/sp] and observed behaviour similar to how more numerous military guys behaved at Agroprom. Let me illustrate it with an example. So I infiltrated the complex around the back, where road barrier is. I killed the sentry rather loudly, and surprisingly [b]everyone[/b] in the complex was alert of my presence. I throw a couple of grenades, killing a couple of guys, and then sat at the destroyed truck taking potshots. It was hard, because monolith guys were quite smart and minimized their exposure, effectively returning pot shots at me. This exchange went on for a while, so I decided to go around the entire complex to get a better position in their flank. So I went out, and guess who greeted me right around the corner? Three more monolith guys in exos, who were apparently doing exactly the same thing, going around the complex to take me out. Same thing happened at agroprom, I couldn't move much and had to prepare for being attacked from every possible direction. They [b]are smarter[/b] than in vanilla, where you could just camp a corner and watch the bodies pile up. It doesn't happen here. From my observation, if AI has only one exit from a room (that I'm camping, obviously), they won't come out. They'll strafe from one side to the other firing in bursts, then camp for a minute, then strafe again. I do not know how LA team scripted the AI combat behaviour, but it works brilliantly with precisely two drawbacks: awareness and reaction time. On the side note, mutants are absolute garbage with no redeeming qualities. I recently went through X18 apparently completely unprepared to what's going to happen and nearing the end of it I only had around 30 rounds for my pistol and no ammo for rifle and shotgun, and I was yet to face [sp]pseudogiant and two burers[/sp]. And I managed it taking to damage at all, because [sp]pseoudogiant[/sp] kept going in circles eating my bullets with his eye (apparently, 20 shots to the face from a pistol is enough to kill it on veteran, right). [sp]Burers[/sp] were dealt with in a traditional stalker-wizard way, pistol-knife combo. In addition to their softness and extremely tame damage, mutants seem to follow the same patterns their cousins from Clear Sky had: they're passive. Once you get out of their smart terrain/gulag, they forget about you like you never existed. Even if they followed you right to the very last inch of this invisible border. If memory serves me right, vanilla ShoC mutants followed you no matter what, if they saw you - they attacked you. The only mutants I liked so far are zombies. I like how if you're careful enough, you can walk right in the middle of a crowd, they acknowledge that you're there with their screams and mumbling, but won't attack you unprovoked, so you don't have to waste ammo. This is in line with how in CoP Yar took you on a tour. Don't fuck with them, and they won't fuck with you. Quite a lengthy post, but I've got to share my thoughts.

More like "[B]Stalker of Duty: Modern Apocalypse[/B]."
I'm playing SoC and my SEVA suit is half durability, and I don't have the 4 shock resistance artifacts needed to fix it. What do? Also, I'm trying to get inside X-16 and oh my god so many SNORKS

I'm waiting until it gets polished up. It looks superb, but the other elements just aren't there. The gunplay is boring and there are numerous bugs that I feel need to be addressed. Furthermore, since community patches and official patches clash you can lose your savegames. Also, the maps are huge without much in them IMO.
Can anyone else get past the cordon in Lost Alpha? it says there is a landslide warning and it turns me back around every time. Also where is that damn wagon key?

I know mods like LURK or AA2 use it, but they are overhauls. Also I thought somebody said dead city is empty after you do the quest there? I came back to it and I'm encountering a bunch of mutants in it. EDIT: Wow holy shit one thing definitely done right is controllers. The new things they can do to you are terrifying.
Man, Dead City is just a god-awful confusing mess of a place. Can someone tell me what's [I]supposed[/I] to happen there? I feel as though I fucked up the quest there somehow.

Where's the modified MP5 in STALKER (vanilla) in Cordon? I need it for a quest in Soup and I can't remember for the life of me where it is, and was hoping the spawn wasn't changed in the mod.

Just looked up Survarium. Not sure how I feel about it. Would rather have a STALKER 2 but at the same time the game looks pretty great.
