Hey guys! haven't been here in a while, how's it hanging?

I just installed Base 1.0 and then patched 1.05b, how in the world can I fuck it up? I'll try again :v: Oh and what file determines the starting loadout? I wish to tweak it to be more scaveng-y.

So I started playing again on an old save where I've already done all the missions in CoP. I was shooting the Makarov you start out with at a metal box outside Yanov station. After about 2 minutes of plinking I hear a noise behind me. This is at like 1am in the game, I turn around to see if one of the pigs had wandered too close to the wrong guy. I turn almost 180 and I see a Chimera mid air coming right at me. Before I could even consider shooting the little pea shooter at it, it thrashes me to pieces. Thankfully, I had the oasis artifact on me, and it slowed the bleeding down and allowed me to run back to the station. Two guys run out after it but it just disappears. I went out with my PKM ready to fuck its shit but never found it. Even with a maxed out exosuit you can die in just a few lucky slashes from those fuckers. Maybe its time to start a new game.

Alright, time to drag out the old STALKER SoC install disk and have me some fun. I've only ever tried LURK before now, which broke due to quest NPCs being killed in combat, so I think it's time I tried Complete 2012. One thing I've never been sure on - do I need to install the very latest patch, or all of them?

Wow, LURK is surprisingly fun. Kinda irks me that the SKS is only bit more powerful than the AK-74 as a flesh absorbed about six shots to the face and the fact that my armor degraded after about 5 shots to it (which is realistic, but annoying) but overall a bunch of fun.

It's a shader compilation designed to make your game prettier and/or run better, and there should be a link to Argus' texture pack floating around somewhere, as for the touches of realism there should be something resembling what you want in the [url=http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr3&thm_page=2&thm_id=4925&sec_id=19]GSC forums[/url]. Trust me you do not want Complete, it makes the game a cake walk which is an absolute no-no in a game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, it claims to fix bugs but it just introduces even more major bugs, besides it's largely outdated. As for the Soup, well, think of the craziest thing you can imagine multiply it by Russian then raise it to the clusterfuck power.
