Yes it's LA
I shoot people all the time and it bounces off them, bullets in LA are weird. Technically since they bounce off they aren't penetrating so you are actually killing enemies with the force of the bullet rather than just the actual bullet.
I wonder if that's why bullet decals on bodies don't seem to show up
I actually shot a wall once and the bullet bounced around and I ended up hitting myself.
Reminds me of my first memory of build 1935:
I walked outside of Sid's room, looked up, and shot the light.
The bullet ricocheted around the room before it hit me in the back of the head. :v:

For some guns they have the bullet impulse on 240, normally you'd have it on around 50 or less
Looking back upon things, i really neglected all the tools i had originally in vanilla. Misery 2.0 really doesn't give you shit to work with. Makes it all that more tense really but makes everything valuable.

pretty sure impulse only affects how far the bullet pushes things away, e.g. a shotgun has higher impulse and it throws corpses back
What are some mods for CoP that add a lot of weapons/features, but not 480 bulletproof mob spawns each 4 seconds? Basically, I want vanilla difficulty, but with more stuff. And a weapon sound mod would be nice, too.
Sounds like SGM 2.1 with Alpha Squads disabled.

Why not 2.2? Is it worse? If so, how?
Why not 2.2? Is it worse? If so, how?
2.2 cuts out quite a few things, and puts in badly-implemented CS levels i.e. they're damn near barren, and the storyline missions that tie them together will have you running across the entire length of the Swamps and Cordon no less than twice in each direction for no reason whatsoever other than to drag out the entire experience.
it seems that future versions of OLR will be running on the LA engine. this makes me happy.

Anyone here got crashes in Lost Alpha on NPP underground/generators/generators underground regarding xrParticles.dll? If so, please respond.

Fuck yeah russian wizards!
So LA ended up being kinda a pyrrhic victory ya?
So basically there's still a possibility we will get the true beta experience on the LA engine
cool

LA made me happy because I knew sooner or later, people would tear into it and use all the good assets to make better mods. Especially the levels - holy fuck am I getting tired of the same levels. They were the only reason I trudged through the later bits of LA. :v:
Yeah, LA levels are boss.
SoC is really depressing to me because the levels are so fucking tiny.
Army Warehouses/Red Forest being the most claustrophobic imo.

The levels are superb for a change of scenery.
LA's use of many of them are deplorable. Some of them (Countryside, the place below Dark Valley Darkscape?) are obviously driving levels. This means if you don't have a car, they're exceptionally barren. Countryside might be interesting if they took out the huge lead in roads, and Darkscape would be good if it was better populated and they did something of interest with the buildings. What little I saw of Forest was good enough to stand on it's own with better population of mutants/humans - and the new Yantar (the old one having been moved and renamed) was bloody excellent.
The new yantar was something that was absolutely awesome in LA despite it's rampant flaws.
The underground actually worked well despite not being a separate level too.
Dead City is pretty cool after you go back to it especially at night, though the first time through it's kinda barren.
Shame though since I thought LA was the mod that was actually gonna get A-life right.
Shame though since I thought LA was the mod that was actually gonna get A-life right.
At the moment, i'm looking to the next version of OGSE to get AI right (rather nice looking combat AI, for a start), and Alundaio's current project.

I can't wait for Lost Alpha SOUP
Shame though since I thought LA was the mod that was actually gonna get A-life right.
When the mod tools ship, someone'll eventually "AMK" Lost Alpha up and re-tool the smart_terrains so that there's actually some traveling A-Life.
quicksave crash
Never, ever quicksave in Lost Alpha. Just open up the console and write save quick into it to create a permasave without having to go to the menu. If you use the same name for a save, it'll overwrite it so you can kind of use that as a workaround for quicksaves not working.
the physics in LA's revised engine is fantastic, but the main problem with LA is that it's a lot more 'eastern european' in its sense of game design. it's a lot more rough and expects you to hustle it a lot more
Well, fuck, at least I'll have the pleasure of playing Pathologic without immediately dropping dead from the unadultered Eastern European condition. I presume you have to wean yourself into it like a marathon runner lest you suddenly find yourself staring aimlessly off into the distance...
Shame though since I thought LA was the mod that was actually gonna get A-life right.
I'm currently playing LEGENDARY, which is like Oblivion Lost amalgamated with a ton of other shit.
Let me just say that unrestrained A-Life is a bit of a dangerous thing. I've had Monolith trying to violate me in Cordon, Military patrols where they should not be, and a horde of mutants took out the entire bandit base in the Dark Valley on my walk over.

what
[vid]http://puu.sh/8GP2j.webm[/vid]
Quickloading makes LA crash.
As for the save, I'd say go in with the slow time function from cheat engine and see what you can do.

what
Someone is joking.
Hopefully the guys making OLR 2.5 will get away with hijacking a lot of the not shit content that Dez0wave has in LA. Judging by their set goals they seem to be aiming for what the community actually wanted from LA.
the news broadcasts in LA really should be of higher quality, they're a bit embarrassing right now

That's the best shit in Stalker imo
