We've already had two offshots off of GSC, 4A Games and Vostok Games. Both of their entrees seem a bit more organized than West Games' step into the light.

Isn't Survarium just post-apocalyptic multiplayer-only deathmatch tripe, though? Areal seems way more promising to me than that.

Metro 2033 is great, but it's linear as heck, and it's almost always underground. It's not really about exploration and survival, which are the traits of STALKER that I like the most.
I didn't even notice Areal had a stretch goal that would be open world multiplayer, that needs to happen if at all possible.
i have no doubt that areal is gonna make it now, they're over 12k
Those stretch goals seem pretty low considering the supposed features they'll be adding, but I have no doubt the original goal will be met with 12k+ a day into the Kickstarter.
I keep crashing at the same point in Clear Sky
I'm in the Red Forest chasing Strelok, He goes in the tunnel, I kill all the guys he hired except the one who surrendered, i tell him to take me to Forester, he gets about 100 meters into the Red Forest and then he says something like "That's the guy! get him" and runs away and then the game crashes

I've got a question about the world. Just how post-apocalyptic is it?
There's still a powerful military, and some items make reference to advanced medicines and technology being developed, which I doubt could happen if the world was over.
Is it just the ever-enlarging Zone that's screwed up, or is everything everywhere screwed up?

eastern european game devs tend to take a much more different approach to their projects compared to western ones but ye i still do see reason to be cautious
Is there any solution to Call of Pripyat crashing on Directx10? I have Nvidia's GTX 660 and I've heard there is some problems with CS and CoP running with Dx10 on GTX GPUs.
If I play with Dx9 or 11 the game runs perfectly, but when I try Dx10 it won't even load.

I watched the video on that kickstarter and They shouldnt have used so much footage of STALKER, especially when they're talking about their game and the features and just showing similar things in stalker. They had all that concept art on the page that they could have used.
It looks interesting though and I'll be interested to see how this develops later on down the road.
Also, I havent really been back to the thread since Lost Alpha came out. Whats the status on Redux 2 and Gunslinger and Lurk 2. Those are the mods I'm still most excited for, and I'm curious how they're coming along.

Right now it's got working gameplay and balance, and that's more than Areal can show to.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Promising the world without backing anything up except for a few stalker scenes and prefab unity showcases is absolutely suspicious.
