This entire AREAL situation is putting out way too much craziness. For now, I say let the Zone have it's way, and what will be, will be. Meanwhile, I'll just continue drinking vodka with Uncle Yar.

I find it funny everyone is freaking. It was fairly evident from the moment the KS went live that they are total bullshit and immoral. Ripped Assets, tweaked art and shit, phony tech demos and such. If you didn't see this crap as soon as it went live then I dunno what to say. Not to mention the bullshit about "Give us more money and we'll give you exclusive skins, and weapons and armors. AND GIVE US MORE AND WE'LL GIVE YOU ALL FUTURE DLC FOR FREE!" Suck a shitty move with that crappy business practice. It's horrendous the type of crap that these days has become norm and accepted by a majority of gamers. I remember when additions to a game were actually additions and not some bullshit attempt and coercing money out of hard working people only to give them fuck all back. (Yes I'm angry at the way the gaming industry is at this moment in time and the horrible decline it's taken in the past decade - give or take.)

Yep, lots of awesome new AI features in CoC. But times are slow atm because of summer. I have prototype game on there too but stalker got in the way again. Damn Zone is always calling. I want to finish CoC so I can get back to work on it, instead, during my spare time.

i don't get the hate for complete. this is coming from someone who's played vanilla and complete SHOC and that's it.

But that's the problem. Most of the content in Complete is horribly out of date (5+ years old for SoC), so from a technical standpoint it's not really complete at all - it's missing a lot of the newer fixes, texture packs, and so on that modders have put out. More annoying, though, is that Complete seems to be the only Stalker mod people have ever heard of. As soon as Stalker comes up in discussion, people bring up and start going on about Complete and artistpavel, ignoring not only the authors of the various smaller mods that make up Complete, but also the hundreds of other far more technically accomplished mods that actually deepen gameplay. So when a newbie comes to the thread talking about how Complete is the best thing ever, people get sad (and occasionally angry) because not only is the guy fairly deluded on the quality of Complete, but they're also missing out on all the other far more impressive mods. That's not to say you shouldn't play Complete if you absolutely want to - at the end of the day, the right mod for you to play is whichever you enjoy the most - but the people of this thread can't help, I think, but be bemused about how much attention Complete gets for what is, in 2014, a fairly mediocre mod.

I don't hate Complete. I just don't like it when people refer Complete as vanilla 2.0 or see it as the base quality for other mods.

He runs the Official Stalker page on Facebook. He posts messages like "Areal is legit, please support them" on this page, which is linked on the Kickstarter page. He bans everyone from the group and remove their messages.
